Haslam is a low-down, dirty snake-in-the-grass douchebag. If that dude told me to my face that the sky was blue I'd be out the door and looking up to check before I believed him.
toad...Those who are upset at the Manziel pick...TOUGH !
As if too often the case, you walk into a discussion about one topic and come out the other side babbling incoherently about something all-together unrelated. Case in point.
Given an opportunity to respond to my opinion about Haslam's character and ability to lead a football team, you predictably come out swinging, though facing the wrong corner and hitting nothing but air.
Toad: "Haslam is a crook who ripped off companies and had to blow up the entire FO he hand-picked after one season."
Mac: "THIS IS JOHNNY FOOTBALL AND I LIKE CHEESE!"
As is too-often the case you've no CLUE what I'm talking about. You don't even know my feelings and opinions on Manziel. It's mind-boggling.

...involved in the decision making process, that lead to the Browns making a solid pick, moving up from 26 to 22, drafting Manziel.
Gee, Wonderboy, did you come up with that brilliant deduction all by yourself? That's what you believe?
You concoct conspiracy theories out of thin air more than any poster on these forums, yet when words come straight from the horses mouths you're going to make it sound as though you've used your critical thinking skills and deductive reasoning to develop a theory and form an opinion that Haslam is more involved than Lerner was.
Lemme help you...YOU'RE RIGHT! Haslam is more involved. SCORE ONE FOR MAC!
Here's another example of Haslam being more involved:
Quote:
Haslam also knows he will be ridiculed—deservedly so—for looking like George Steinbrenner in his prime for the way he’s whacked coaches and front-office staff seemingly willy-nilly since he took over as owner on Oct. 16, 2012. Under Haslam, who came in preaching patient team-building, the Browns have fired two coaches (Pat Shurmur, Chudzinski), two general manages (Tom Heckert, Lombardi), a CEO (Banner) and a president (Mike Holmgren). They fired Chudzinski when he got off the team bus from Pittsburgh after the last game of the 2013 season. They have started four quarterbacks, and seem prepared to move heaven and earth to draft a new quarterback savior in the first round of the May 8 draft.
In Haslam’s 17-month tenure, the team has employed 56 coaches.
To call the Browns a circus would be an insult to circuses.

Oh yeah...you bet your ass he's more involved.

Other than a few fans making ridiculous comments about the way the Browns got their man, Manziel, most are glad that the Browns drafted Manziel and most don't give a damn how they got him.
Still debating a topic nobody is discussing. Mac still likes cheese.

Those of you making childish comments like those I quoted above...JUST STOP !
Or what?
Haslam cares about his team. So did Lerner. So did Modell. So did Paul Brown.
That's meaningless.
So far in his short tenure Haslam has made dumb move after dumb move and has already blown up a regime he built, nevermind the fact he's a criminal whose company ripped off smaller companies to the tune of millions of dollars. He may skate because of the layers he'd built in his company, but he's no less a crook, and no amount of football love is going to change that fact.
Here's some more facts for you to swallow as you spout off about his passion for being involved:
The man who clearly controls every single facet directly attributed to which players suit up on Sunday is THE least qualified to do so in the entire organization.
Perhaps you can show me his resume which lays out his qualifications to pick players, coaches, and front office executives.
Why don't you show me his track-record of success as it specifically pertains to football moves.
Wait, I just did in the above quote.
The ONLY thing to like about Haslam here is his passion and willingness to spend money to win. Beyond that there's nothing to be bully about when it comes to that guy.
Maybe Farmer and Co. can win in spite of Jerry Jones Jr. doing his best Jerry Jones routine. Banner, Lombardi, and Chud certainly couldn't.
I liked Bridgewater more than Manziel, but I think he's a solid gamble and didn't mind the pick. If you were even half-awake and paying half-attention, MAC, you'd know that the Browns did exactly what I was advocating before the draft: Taking a positional player with the 1st selection then trading back up to get a QB with the second. Of course as it often the case you've no real idea what a poster thinks before you start spouting off with your half-cocked and half-incoherent ramblings. Setting that aside, even though I liked how the first round played itself out, that isn't going to change my opinion that a criminal with no football understanding greater than many posters on this board is running the Browns.
Johnny Manziel mania doesn't change who JJJ is, nor how he's already made disastrous moves and should be going to prison.
On a more personal note, if you're going to waddle up onto your soap-box and tell posters they should go find another board to post on, it's probably time for you to take one of your long breaks where you disappear for a few months, which typically happens after one of your conspiracy theories blows up in your face and you're afraid to face the music.
Enjoy the cheese.
***Gordon, I really didn't think you could be this stOOpid, but you exceeded my expectations. Wussy. Manziel, see Josh Gordon. Dumbass.***

I wonder why you didn't take your own advice when Banner and Lombardi were here?

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

I think he did.
