Both parties are crap.
As far as this story ....if I am not mistaken, it is a requirement (maybe law, I'm not 100% sure) that all government outgoing emails be archived.
If they are archived, then it doesn't matter if the computer hard drive in question was smashed, nuked, or ground up into tiny pieces. They should be backed up on the archive system.

By law, all government documents, electronic or otherwise, are to be archived. Anyone who has ever dealt with email knows those emails do not reside on the computer. They are on the server, the server backup, and the backup server backup. The government should also have a disaster recovery site that is away from DC, where the backups are backed up. This is willful destruction of government archives.

I agree, I'd just like to get to the bottom of all this.
I'm not accusing the President of anything, but I would like to follow this little string all the way to the end. If conservative groups were knowingly targeted, everyone involved needs to be fired. And we need to know everyone that's involved

I know for a fact there are some things our government has to lie to us about, as there are security reasons. This current government lies to us as if we've all been educated in the current public school system. I find it quite insulting that they can't even come up with a good lie, or that our government believes us all so stupid that they don't bother to lie well. This, "the dog at my homework", lie is one of the pathetic lies I've ever heard. My kids lied better when they were 3.
I just hope this nonsense will be the beginning of the end of the IRS, and they are replaced with a tax system that makes sense.
