I was just wondering which news channel is the favorite of those on this board. I grew up mainly following CNN, but recent exposure to Fox News has gotten me to flip over to that channel on occasion.

Michelle Malkin on Fox News shows no mercy to those visiting the show. As evidenced by the following:

web page

The video is insane. After this gentleman she "interrogated" the leader of the Black Panther party and really shut him down, but I could not find that video. She does not seem to be racially biased, just equally hostile to any stupid comments.

MSNBC for me. Olbermann is my favorite, by far.

I have been avoiding most news for a while.

None tell the full story and they take advantage of the ignorant American public to boost their ratings and support their agenda.

MSNBC. CNN when it shows actual news, and not Larry King.
Fox is just a joke. Sometimes not to bad, but overall the bias is silly. If they WOULD actually be fair and balanced I'd watch. CNN may have a slight liberal bias, but fox is off the charts on the neo-con bias.

I've said this before on here, and I'll say it again. Fox isn't fair and balanced, CNN isn't fair and balanced, yet those two get the highest ratings. That is because people don't honestly want fair and balanced, they want their viewpoint trumpeted as loudly as possible, and those two networks do just that. MSNBC is the closest, IMO, to being balanced, and its ratings don't compare with the other two networks because of it, IMO.

Sorry for omitting MSNBC. I didn't even think about that news network. Never really have watched it.

I flip through them all but find that CNN has more variety. FOX talks too much how other networks present things, or what some celebrity is saying, which I don't find newsworthy at all.

I agree. I tend to flip through stations and stop on the one that has a segment that interests me.

I hate all of the 24 hour news stations. They pick the most random and stupid stories to cover most days and the few days there is worthy news they drill it into the ground.

I hate watching any news in progress. "We're reporting that there are 10,000 people dead" ummm but Bob, there's only 200 people in the building

Neither... I generally get my news online these days. TV news has gone completely to hell, IMO. It isn't even worth watching.

So.. what's worse? Watching a biased News channel or watching a biased News channel that claims not to be a biased New channel? But i skip through the news channels.. I get my news from the paper or news.google.com

CNN

Fox News actually classified Mark Foley as a Democrat. Unbelieveable.

I'm a diehard Fox News guy. I got tired of CNN and only needed a good news service to easily replace them. They also express more than one view instead of just the one they are promoting.

I gave up on these news channels awhile back. My blood pressure is much better now.

My main source for news now is Pit.

Depends on time of day.

CNN after 10 at night;
MSNBC for Keith Olbermann.

I never watch FOX.

And I do really like the news with a kick that "The Daily Show" provides. Jon is awesome.

It happened again last night as I was flipping through the channels. FOX News had some celebrity on and so I just continued surfing. The better question to me seems FOX News or E!, and I'll pass on both.

Olbermann is sounding like a pretty popular guy. Is he the guy that used to work for ESPN? I have never watched his news station.

Yeah, Keith Olbermann worked with Dan Patrick on ESPN. He then left for Fox Sports and eventually ended up at MSNBC. His show is called Countdown. He has good guests, good interviews and goes after pretty much anybody who is acting like an idiot (Bill O'Reilly tends to catch the most of his criticism). I like Olbermann a lot, he's funny, yet serious and informative somehow.

That is cool. I looked it up and it starts at 8 p.m. tonight so I will check him out. Bill O'Reilly seems alright at times though. I love the hostility that surrounds Fox News.

Fox news, cnn is a joke. if they ever printed anything good that happened in Iraq it would kill them. Besides Fox news has 5 times the viewership of any of the liberal news channels and it agravates them to no end.

Please link us to the numbers that show they have 5 times the viewership of the "liberal" channels. I'm fascinated if that is true.....
