And a little more .... just for the fun of it.

Zydrunas Ilgauskas flies to South Florida on Dan Gilbert's jet to possibly meet with LeBron James, report says | cleveland.com
http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/...related_stories

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Cavaliers are pulling out all the stops when it comes to trying to lure LeBron James back to Cleveland.
According to 92.3 The Fan's Anthony Lima, former Cavaliers center Zydrunas Ilgauskas flew to South Florida Sunday evening in Dan Gilbert's jet. The flight took off from a Detroit-area airport.:

92.3 The Fan’s Joe Lull initially reported that Dan Gilbert was traveling to south Florida Sunday afternoon, which the Cavs owner quickly denied on Twitter by posting: “I am? Sorry folks but enjoying weather in my backyard today.”
While Lull’s report set off a firestorm on Twitter, a plane that is owned by SLAN, LLC., which is a subsidiary of Rock Ventures and owned by Gilbert, traveled to south Florida Sunday afternoon from Detroit, Michigan and was initially scheduled to land at Fort Lauderdale International Airport at 6:26 p.m., but landed at Fort Lauderdale Executive Field 15 minutes later.

Whether or not Gilbert was actually on the flight remains unclear but Ilgauskas was in fact on the flight.

James and Ilgauskas are extremely close, having played together on the Cavs and Heat. In fact, James attended Ilgauskas’ jersey retirement ceremony in Cleveland back in March.
It is possible, according to the report, that Ilgauskas met with James to make a pitch to come back to Cleveland. The Cavaliers reportedly met with LeBron's agent Rich Paul last Thursday.

Social media exploded with the above-mentioned tweets, which prompted reporters to wait at the airport, hoping to catch a glimpse of who would be coming off the plane.

The person I talked to also noted that the flight status oddly became "unknown" which is atypical, even for private jets...

Interesting that LeBron & agent meeting with Pat Riley. Said at start of free agency he didn't need to have a sit-down with Heat.

Hmm ..... would Lebron definitely decide to go back to Miami without any pieces in place? If he is going to inform Riley of his decision, and it was "I'm staying", wouldn't he tell him that on the phone to save him panic, instead of saying "I'll see you in a few days to let you know what I decided"?

Man, I just wish this was over with.

For Kevin Love? You are not serious, are you? You realize Kevin Love is at least a top ten player in the league and is probably better than that.

If I am the T'Wolves there is no deal if Wiggins is not involved. And the only reason the Cavs would trade for Love is if they get LeBron. If you can get LeBron/Love/Irving together you give up everything. Flip Saunders should start with, "We want Wiggins, Waiters, Bennett, Thompson, and picks."

You're trying to trade talent-for-talent. That doesn't happen in the NBA. The Wolves are in a tough spot. Love has said he isn't resigning, and he's only going to extend with certain teams/situations. So, the Wolves trade opportunities are fairly limited.

There is no way that I'm including Wiggins in the deal. I offer them Tristan, Dion, and two first round picks next year. If they don't accept, I walk away. Its probably the best offer they're going to get.

Love, the talent, is worth a lot more. But its all about the position that you're dealing from and the Wolves have no power in this situation if they want to get anything back for Love at all. Otherwise, he walks next summer with nothing in return.

Granger sure bounced a lot last year. Started in Indiana, went to Philly, then to the LA Clippers.

He was a nice talent at one point though.

I think that McRoberts is a decent backup guy .... but I like Chris Anderson better than him ..... and he is replacing Anderson.

Anderson can only do one thing well. Defense. McRoberts does several things well. He is a better player. Even still, there is no way McRoberts is going to bring LeBron back to Miami. If this is what Riley had up his sleeve then he whiffed big time.

Vegas Odds

More bets have been placed on the Cleveland Cavaliers to win the 2015 NBA title than any other team at the Las Vegas Superbook.

Brian Babineau/Getty ImagesLeBron James hasn't committed to return to the Cavaliers. But some betting money sure has.

Over the past two weeks, as reports surfaced about LeBron James' potential interest in returning to Cleveland, the Cavs' odds to win next year's championship have improved from 60-1 to 30-1. Superbook assistant manager and head NBA oddsmaker Jeff Sherman told ESPN.com that none of the bets on the Cavs have been "significant" in size, but, altogether, the wagers were enough to cut Cleveland's odds in half.

The defending champion San Antonio Spurs (9-2) and the Chicago Bulls (7-1) are the only teams that have attracted more money than the Cavaliers, but no team has received more overall bets (28) than Cleveland since odds went up on June 9. In comparison, the Miami Heat, the favorites at 5-2, had attracted only one bet at the Superbook. Sherman cautioned that the NBA futures pool is only a month old, however.

William Hill U.S. Director of Bookmaking Nick Bogdanovich said in a text message that his shop also had seen a recent influx of betting interest on the Cavs, "but nothing over the top." It's been enough, though, to shorten Cleveland's championship odds from 50-1 on June 16 to 20-1 currently at William Hill's Nevada book.

If James were return to Cleveland, where he spent the first seven seasons of his NBA career, Sherman says he'd adjust the Cavs' odds to around 8-1.

"They are such a young team," Sherman said of the Cavaliers "They would be better positioned for the next season than this upcoming one."

Anderson is a low post presence, which is good for a team without that type of player anywhere else on their roster. He scores efficiently. He doesn't have range, but when he goes up with a shot, (or dunk) the ball is usually going in the basket. His range is much, much closer to the basket, obviously, but he is a stronger body in there.

I look at McRoberts and see a guy who would probably be better in a backup role. He averaged 30 minutes/game last year, and only 8.5 points and 4.3 rebounds. Don't get me wrong ..... I think that he could be a useful piece for a team ..... but if he is your staring PF, I think that you are always looking for a way to replace him. (kind of like us with Tristan Thompson)

per Sam Amico, Kyrie Irving has made a recruitment pitch to Lebron.

I will say one thing about this whole situation.

There have been numerous reports about him coming back to Cleveland. There seem to be more in that direction than him staying.

But if we all remember, it didn't come out until the day of the decision that it was Miami, when Stephen A reported it. There was very little talk about LBJ to Miami before that day. It was more him staying, going to Chicago, and possibly the Knicks. So his camp is tight lipped. I think the rumors of the return have legs but I'm not ready to bet on it yet.

And that's good, besides his agent saying that he personally would like LeBron to go back, no one in that camp has said "Yes he's coming back"

If he doesn't come here, it's different than last time, because last time there were all those little hints he kept giving to Cleveland, just letting them know he may stay...

If he goes somewhere else, it's whatever, I'd enjoy being a contender this year, but I think we're on the right track...

If he stays in Miami? I think he's ganna have Opt outs in at least 2-3 years, and we'll be doing this all over again, and maybe that time.. We won't be waiting by the phone..

It's certainly an interesting story, but I'll believe that it has wheels when it actually happens.

And I think that's a great approach to the whole thing.

I would love to have him back, but if he doesn't come back this year? That's cool. I'm still going to be excited for this team. We have a coach who may have some new ideas, we locked up our best player, and we did just draft Andrew Wiggins. The future of this team is bright. And if it's true Anthony Bennett read the writing on the wall? Even better.

I would however, enjoy the poop storm that will occur when the national media has to deal with Lebron back in Cleveland. I really get the vibe that a lot of these guys don't want it. There are some that like the feel-good-for-everyone story that it would be, but there are a lot for whatever reason that don't want him to return home.

I just wonder what the backup plan is if Lebron decides to go somewhere else? Do we sit on our cap space or do we go and chase someone else?

Anderson has no range. He is not a post presence. He is an above-average defender that can block shots and run the floor. That's it. The Heat will likely re-sign him.

I think that is a big thing right there.

If Lebron goes elsewhere, the Cavaliers will do whatever they can to improve their team, and will use up their cap space on other players. If Lebron decides that he wants to end his career in Cleveland, at 34, 35, or 36, or whenever, then there may be neither the room, not the inclination to bring him back for some last hurrah. . Even if he takes a 2 year deal, the Cavaliers are not going to be in this position again, where they have everything seemingly in balance ..... with cap space,, a solid core, young talent, 3 first round picks coming up, and tons of flexibility. Heck, Kyrie will be more than twice as expensive by himself in 2 years. Right now I think that they have the resources to do almost anything. I think he knows that if he ever wants to come back to Cleveland, this is it. I also don't think that we can underestimate the persuasiveness of a pregnant wife who wants her family near for the birth of their next child. I also hear that Kyrie is helping put on the full court press to try and convince Lebron to come home.

I also think that last time around, his decision was based on Chris Bosh as much as any other factor. If Lebron could have talked Bosh into coming to Cleveland, I think that would have been the play, even if it didn't include Wade. I think that Lebron let others help make his decision for him last time around. he even shared an agent with Wade and Bosh. I think that he is more his own man now, and will make his own decision, regardless of what the other guys do. That's JMHO, based on what I have read from some who cover him frequently.

Regardless, it will be interesting to see what happens. If he comes back to Cleveland, ESPN may explode, and "ESPN Miami" may go out of business.

I think the media wants Lebron to leave for Cleveland or anywhere else for that matter. If he were to stay in Miami, that would be a boring end to all the speculation. Sure, the team will probably look different, but it's still boring.

My guess right now, this is all smoke that Lebron and his camp are using to get leverage on someone. Maybe they're trying to force Riley to offer a max deal, maybe this is all about throwing Wade to the curb, maybe this is about the Knicks and Melo....who knows. But I'd bet my next car payment that this Cleveland talk is bogus.

I really don't see Lebron getting excited to play with Kyrie, who is made of glass, and Wiggins, who graduated high school 45-minutes ago. And I don't buy that KL for Wiggins sign-and-trade for a minute. It was hard enough for the Big 3 to come together in Miami 4 years ago and they were all free agents. No way a deal like that gets pulled off + Lebron in today's NBA.

I still think he stays in Miami on a 1-year deal to let the dust settle on this offseason. He'll watch what happens with KL and others next year.

Andersen has said that he will look for more money then the Heat can offer him. That's why he opted out of his deal. I seem to remember hearing something about him looking for a deal in the $4-5 million/year range ..... which in today's ridiculously priced NBA wouldn't be horribly out of the question ....... but which would be beyond the ability of the Heat to pay if they re-sign the big 3. He wants his "retirement contract" ...... and I can't see any way that's coming from the Heat. Maybe a return of the big 3 changes that ..... but who knows?

If Andersen gets $5 million a year then the NBA is more ridiculous than we ever thought. I don't put it out of the realm of the possibilities. Jodie Meeks got $20 million plus.

Cavaliers announce their Sumemr League team.

We can get the first look at the supposedly much improved (physically) Anthony bennett, and also how Blatt teaches and coaches during games.

Andrew Wiggins highlights Cleveland Cavaliers 2014 NBA Summer League roster | cleveland.com
http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2014/07/andrew_wiggins_highlights_clev.html

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Cleveland Cavaliers announced their roster for the 2014 Samsung NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, Nevada, and two first-overall picks headline the team.

Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett will join 2014 second-round pick Joe Harris, Carrick Felix, Scotty Hopson, Matthew Dellavedova, Sergey Karasev as the current Cavaliers on the roster.

Jack Cooley, Shane Edwards, Will Cherry, Steven Gray and Alex Kirk complete the team.

New Cavs head coach, David Blatt, will run the team. New associate head coach, Tyronn Lue, will be on the bench as well in Vegas.

The Cavaliers are scheduled to open their Summer League campaign on Friday, July 11 at 8 p.m. ET, against the Milwaukee Bucks in a game that will feature the No. 1 and No. 2 picks in the 2014 NBA Draft, Wiggins and Jabari Parker. The Cavs will play against the San Antonio Spurs in the second game on Sunday, July 13 at 4 p.m. ET. The preliminary round games wrap up with Cleveland taking on the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday, July 14 at 8 p.m. ET.

Following the opening three games, the participating teams will be seeded for the single-elimination tournament that will culminate in a championship game on July 21. A consolation round will be held for teams failing to advance, ensuring that each team is guaranteed to play no fewer than five games.

All games will be played at the COX Pavilion and Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.

If LeBron is coming Karasev is going to get traded.

I haven't heard that ...... but I would definitely give up Karasev to get Lebron.

I read that they need to move him in order to make a max offer to LeBron.

I thought it was JJack?

Right, I thought it was JJack all along. And the fact he's still on the team proves to me nothing is happening.

The more this plays out, the worse it looks for the Cavs.

If I had to guess, I'd say LBJ wants to get back to Miami on a two year with an opt out after one, but he wants Bosh to bite and come back.

Just a stab in the dark.

I don't know about that... Karasev could be something special.

Could be vs is ..... give me the is every time.

I like Karasev quite a lot. That said, If it's him or Lebron, I take Lebron every single time, and don't think twice.

Hmmm... alright, you convinced me. Lebron it is.

Ah ... sorry .... my sarcasm detector was on the fritz.

I thought about using purple font for those couple posts, but what's the fun in that?

Or ... perhaps Lebron learned something from "the decision" and wants to meet with Riley to tell him in person that he is taking his talents to NE Ohio rather than surprising him with a media announcement.

I have heard that they could create enough room by dumping Jack and cutting the non guarantee deal of Felix Carrick. Cutting Karasev would do nothing, as his deal is guaranteed .... and trading anyone without taking someone back is always difficult.

If they move Jack and cut Carrick, they are there.

Windy seemed to hint at that Sunday night as well. He thinks this meeting is Lebron informing him of his decision.

How crazy does twitter/internet get if tomorrow we hear Lebron has informed Pat Riley that he is not returning to the Heat, and leaves it at that? LOL

I never said they would cut him. I said trade him.

There are plenty of teams that have cap space that would be willing to take on the salary of a guy who was drafted in the first round last year. The Suns, 76ers, and Magic all come to mind.
