Cutting Karasev would do nothing, as his deal is guaranteed .... and trading anyone without taking someone back is always difficult.

I never said they would cut him. I said trade him.

There are plenty of teams that have cap space that would be willing to take on the salary of a guy who was drafted in the first round last year. The Suns, 76ers, and Magic all come to mind.

I don't see any need to move him right now. If they trade Jack and Cut Carrick, then they have all the space they need for a max deal for James.

I am not saying that they won't trade Karasev ...... but I will say that Blatt is familiar with him ....... and we will be looking for outside shooters if Lebron returns. Karasev is supposed to possess good range up to NBA 3 point range, and is a capable passer. (which is what Blatt's offense will require)

I really hope we have some other moves in mind if LBJ stays, Besides Haywood we have almost no bigs (I don't trust AV to stay healthy)

Even if we do get James AND trade for Love.. I still think we need a true Center..

LOL If we have Lebron, Love, Irving, and Wiggins ...... I think that Andy and Zeller would do just fine in the middle. Thompson can also play some Center, though he not the ideal candidate.

The Heat had Bosh and Chris Anderson, largely, at Center. If you have enough talent everywhere else, you can afford a single weak spot. In fact, it's almost a certainty that you will have a weak spot.

Utah are idiots even if they resign him. I read he wanted 4 yrs 52 million, and they only wanted to offer 4 yrs 48 million. Well now get ready to pay 63 million over 4. Why make a stink over 4 million?

Well ... Cleveland really wanted him until the possibility of Lebron re-emerged .... so hopefully Lenbron comes back ..... or else this flirtation may have screwed up the Cavaliers again.

Thats what i dont like lebron taking so much time. Just out of respect for the teams..he is holding up free agency for some. But the cavs cant pass up the opportunity.once in a lifetime situation..

My hope is that he is doing it to allow the Cavs to make the moves they need to.

But my dark and cynical side says the longer this goes on the longer DWade, Riley, and Lebron have to plot and plan and The Cavs look like suckers...... AGAIN

Yep, the Cavs are being used again... by lebron and his coattail riders.

They are laughing at us fan and everybody else as they hold teams and other players hostage.

I am starting to hope the little three go back, get melo and dominate the league for the next 5 years... it may spell the end of the NBA as we know it as fans lose interest in watching a bought "team" win. Works for me.

If the Heat have LeBron, Melo, Bosh, and Wade... They may never win another title..

Oh by the way..

Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports previously reported the contract as being worth close to $100 million over 10 years, but that Tweet was subsequently deleted. Spears later reported that it is a five-year deal worth approximately $12 million to $13 million.

Adidas doesn't have Nike money..

They're just reporting the Sheridan story.

The latest from windhorst is that the whole Miami contingent is meeting with Lebron today. If you remember, it was reported that Lebron said he didn't need to meet with them in FA. This may be a last ditch effort. I truly believe that little jab at Lebron in Riley's presser is factoring in a bit here.

Nothing is done yet but this is pointing towards him leaving Miami.

Well ..... I don't know a whole lot about him ....... but 15/5/5 would look really good at SF, if we don't get Lebron back. (and from what I understand, he could be even better with slasher/cutters like Irving and Waiters to play with and hit him on the wing)

Boston is third team in deal will acquire Tyler Zeller from Cleveland as well as future first-rounder and Marcus Thornton from Nets

They have been trying to move him out for weeks now .... even before the possibility of Lebron coming back.

yeah i figured that..so basically because of the 3 team deal, we basically take nothing back...Sounds to me like Cavs know something about the LBJ situation...giving up Jack is one thing, but to give up karasev and zeller just to rid yourself of Jack's contract..not sure that would be the best. I think the first rounder boston got is from nets right?

It's an awful trade, giving up Jack, Karasev, Zeller, and a 1st, for a "sizable trade exception" ........ terrible if Lebron goes anywhere but Cleveland. If he comes here, then maybe it helps you also bring in Kevin Love. If not ...... then it's just more space.

Man, they have to have a good feeling to make this kind of trade. They have no bigs ..... and to give up a solid backup in Zeller just to make room, along with Karasev and a 1st rounder ..... is a big price to pay.

2016 1st rounder is from Cavs per a source. Cavs create a sizable trade exception. That's another great asset to use to surround LeBron w/.

Worth the risk.

Zeller improved a lot, but he's still a stiff and so is Karasev. And we wanted Jack gone.

I would assume the first is lottery protected.

If he doesn't come here, you don't get burned too bad, and if he does you've got room to bring in a shooter.
