Seen a few people reporting on Twitter that Love may of recently asked the Wolves to trade him to the Cavs specifically. http://www.foxsports.com/ohio/story/nba-...avaliers-072614Also being reported by several on Twitter that Love has left USA Basketball camp, "because of his current situation". That's pretty interesting, since the two front-runners to get him can't trade the main pieces of their supposed trade offers for another month.

I read that this morning. It is being reported by Steven A Smith first, so who knows how reliable it is. He also said Lebron had zero chance of coming back to the Cavs.....

So, if Love tells all other teams that he's only interested in playing for the Cavs ... which drops his trade value considerably and we get him for say, TT, Dion and Bennett ... do you pretty much pen David Griffith in as GM of the year? Even though he probably had zero influence in any of that? Might have to give him a colonoscopy and check for multiple horseshoes.

If he can pull off anything where we don't have to give up Wiggins, I'd say he could at the very least be considered one of the best GM's to be part of the Cavs organization. I just have a hard time believing the reports because the main source of Steven A and he couldn't have been more incorrect with the Lebron decision.

Yeah, ESPN reporters are really hard to trust, because the management there pushes them really hard to be the first to break stories. They wind up with some borderline tabloid journalism, with guys reporting stuff just to report stuff.

One thing a great athlete like Wiggins can give you is the ability to get to the hoop, and also draw fouls. He can defend at a plus level from day 1, and can cause problem for his opposite number, because he has great height, greater reach, and exceptional speed and quickness. It is my sincerest hope that we are able to make a trade for Love without having to give him up. Man ...... I think about a lineup with Irving, Wiggins, Lebron, Love, and Andy ...... and who can stay with that on defense? You would have athletic ability mixed with great shooting, and guys who can also create their own shots. That is so vital when the shot clock wears down. If we can get Love, while keeping Wiggins and one of our 1st round picks next year, then I would say that Griffin should be executive of the decade .... forget about the year.

Danny Green and Kawhi are the 2 best defenders on that team and they're both very good athletes. Tim is an incredible defender because of his IQ.

Yeah, it was interesting to watch Tim in these Finals. Scrappy is the word I'd use.
He knows what to do, but a lot of the time his body won't let him.
Despite that, he did an admirable job.
And, yeah, Green and Leonard were downright transcendent on D. Green was one that got away from us, though he'd never have had the same career with us.

You could say the same thing about Leonard too. People were talking about drafting him instead of Tristan. I have to say I was wrong about him although I doubt he becomes the player he has playing for anyone other than San Antonio.

I have to think that if the Cavaliers had agreed to include Wiggins in a deal for Love, that Love would be a Cavalier right now. I think that the Cavaliers are playing hardball, and with Love reportedly saying that Cleveland is the only place he'll sign long term ...... they can afford to.The season hasn't even started yet.
I would have to imagine that Love would rather join a Cavaliers team with 3 high end pieces already in place as opposed to only 2. I doubt that he wants to see his new teams give up any more than they have to in order to get him. It also makes no sense for the Timberwolves to play out this season with Love, and get nothing for him.
I think that the cavaliers, in conjunction with Love, are playing some serious hardball right now.

I don't follow basketball news all that much so he may have changed his tune. But listening to him on ESPN radio on my commute, I distinctly remember hearing him say that he thought that the Cavs were the most likely destination for lebron but that Miami wasn't out of the question. This was early/mid April.

I oud agrre that as individuals they are they to best defenders, but defense is about team. Its about being smart, disciplined,well coached, and buying into that coaching. You kind of think of them being the best defenders because they are visible when making the plays, but the team defense is what allows them to make the plays.
I think of it in football when the WRs. QBs, and WR's get all the credit on a TD.

TT could be a very good role player if allowed to be that. I would even run any sets for him. Any points he scores should be on put backs off offensive rebounds or feeds off Kyrie and Bron drives.

Put backs off the offensive glass is where he really needs to show improvement to be a more solid role player on a contender.
The guy has one of the slowest gathers I've ever seen.
He really needs to get better in that area. LeBron's going to be zipping him some feeds this year.

Considering the guys that went immediately behind him, it wasn't that bad of a pick. I was sort of hoping we would trade down to the 9-12 range and take a guy like Klay Thompson. I really didn't want Kawhi at 4... And I don't think his career would of turned out like it has if anyone other than San Antonio took him. The only other pick at 4 was Big V, and even then you knew he was going to be out a year.
The much bigger whiffs were Dion over Drums and Bennett over anybody... Although Bennett may still redeem himself here... The rest of that draft class has been pretty weak as well.
