Browns NT Phil Taylor Recovering From Hamstring Injury

he Cleveland Browns have been tight-lipped about injuries up until this point. For most players, it hasn't been that big of a deal: guys like RB Terrance West, OG John Greco, TE Gary Barnidge, and DE Billy Winn have already returned to practice after initially being on the non-football injury list to start training camp. One prominent player remains on that list, though, and that would be NT Phil Taylor.

The Browns released an injury report on Friday, and they designated Taylor as having a hamstring injury.

It was reported last week that Winn hurt his hamstring while trying to press too hard to pass the Browns' conditioning case. It's possible the same thing happened with Taylor. Winn returned to practice on Thursday, though, so perhaps we're not too far away from seeing Taylor put the pads on again.

Here is a complete list of the Browns' current injuries:
•WR Chandler Jones (hamstring)
•OL Nick McDonald (wrist)
•OL Randall Harris (knee)
•NT Phil Taylor (hamstring)
•ILB Tank Carder (foot)
•ILB Darius Eubanks (shoulder)

FS Tashaun Gipson left Friday's practice with a knee injury, but there was not an update on his condition.

I think Big Phil needs to figure out soon how to get back on the field. Otherwise, he'll loose his starting job if not waived.

personally I think they are waiting on the JC decison and will dangle him as trade bait for a WR if need be.

I have zero proof of that, just a gut feeling.

After spending 11 days battling blood clots in his lungs, former Browns @JasonPinkstonOL is finished with football this year.
Pinkston and the Browns reached a settlement today, and Cleveland now will be releasing him.
This is the second time Pinkston has battled blood clots and Pinkston knows his career is now in jeopardy.
"More than likely I'll have to retire," Pinkston texted this afternoon. "The Browns were great working with me and I would love to thank GM Ray Farmer and Owner Jimmy Haslam for my opportunity here in Cleveland. It's been an honor to be apart of the organization and city."

Thank God he found out before this condition killed him.

I am glad that he will be able to (hopefully) live a long and healthy life.
