So people who do labor are not doing real work?? People who work their fingers to the bone to just scrape by are not doing real work? GMAB

I've never ever heard of a laborer making minimum wage (thinking in terms of construction) - they make really good money. You are going to have to give me your definition of laborer.

I never said laborer. I said labor. labor is anyone who physically woks. I guess I should have said low paid labor. Sorry but people who are wroking as janitors or cleaning ladys are not lazy. They are doing jobs that need to be done and yes it is REAL work.

Janitors and cleaning labor tyipically make more than minimum wage. If they are making minimum wage and complaining, McDonalds always hires and pays more than that. Get into a management program. There's opportunities out there. Minimum wage is something (IMO) that's menat for high school kids. Part timers. It's great that they are working, but there's opportunity everywhere - you just have to seek it out.

The reason I ask is I think its very hard to have an opinion on personal finances until you do. It is much... much cheaper to live on your own then with children. You are responsible for only yourself.

While I was very fortunate to find a very good paying job at the age of 24. Many that I graduated from college with did not. Does it make me upset that my friends get free diapers, formula, child care, medical... No. If I were in their situation I would do the same thing. And I know what most will say to this... well then your friends should not have children. Well if now is not a good time then when is. When they're 40? Its very contradicting to me that the same party that runs on religion does not want to give to the poor. If you can live so frugally then what is your worry. I am just pointing out to those that speak so arrogantly -- nothing is black and white. There is no finite answer to these very complex problems. There is an argument to every side and try to keep an open mind when listening to others.

Soup...sorry to see you post the above comment.

Thank goodness you opinion is that of the minority who think all is great with or country.

Only 22% of Americans believe our country is headed in the right direction under the present administration.

Soup, thankfully, you would be one of that 22%.

I live in an always Democratic state. The city is run horribly, businesses get chased out of town and they raise gas tax and steal your money to give it to lazy people on welfare. They actually had a few months where a Democrat voted through to raise our gas bill to pay for poor people's gas! It got complained about and turned away after a few months - yet the gas prices stayed the same. If Hllary gets into office, look for taxes to go from 30 to 60% and watch the poor move next to you and ruin your neighborhood and all you worked for. More appropriate and real of me would be to say, Democrats=communists. No matter how hard you work we will make sure everyone makes even money, including the drunk bum on the street corner.

...seriously? I mean, really?

The sister to your argument is 'George Bush is going to give all of your tax dollars to his rich friends.' It's just an inane, parroted, void of logic argument...'war for oil' is to kids with green hair at the mall as your argument is to a 14 year old cheerleader who repeats the base explanations that she hears when her dad listens to Limbaugh on the way to school.

Bottom line - Republicans will give your money to rich people. Democrats will give your money to rich people. This is a constant that will not change as long as government is the way it is. Your money - predominantly - is going to corporations and associated interests of Washington. They are paying CEO's salaries, and accomodating investors and so on and so forth. If you want to complain about where your money is going, it's going there...or Iraq.

And no one is going from 105th and Woodland to Mentor because Hillary Clinton got elected...the reason you see the lower-class invading the middle class is because the middle-class is quickly collapsing because so many jackasses thought the money was never going to run out in 1994 and eventually spent themselves out of their means.

Democrats=communist? That's about as bright as 'Bush is Hitler'.

I've seen Democrats giving my money to the lazy first hand. They build developments in middle class areas and give them money to move there and ruin the neighborhood. They do this stuff all the team. And Hillary Clinton is satan. She's evil and should be booted from office.

I agree 100%, the one that sucks more is the one who is lenient on crime and gives criminals my money. You have 2 choice.

1. Mud
2. Manure

I'd rather be covered in mud

Children are as much a financial responsibility as they are an emotional one. Anyone who decides to have children strictly based on age, is not thinking too clearly. If you can barely support yourself, you should not intentionally bring a child into the world just yet.

Many families are waiting til they are in their early 30's to start a family. By then most have a career, have the house the cars, and have things figured out.

Early twenties, your lucky if you know what you want to do for the rest of your life, much less be forced into situations because you have a child.

Now not all people that have children young are poor and desolate, but I bet if you look at the single parent statistics, most probably had children before the age of 23. Your too young in your 20's and life is going through huge changes. 2 people "in love" since they were 18 may not feel that way after they reach partying age, college, careers, etc.

What everything comes down to, is making choices in your life, not just for today, but for tomorrow. You may have the day off today so it's a great day to get totally trashed, but tomorrow you have a job interview that you don't want to go to hung over and smelling of alcohol.

Many are also waiting until their mid to late 30's. I meet them everyday at work. It's amazing to hear these women talk about their experince v. what the 20 somethings say. There's just a calmness about them that people don't have in their 20's.

Don't blame Bush for the economy...
Capitalism is the culprit.

The system itself is the problem... Its not any Presidents fault that corporations are greedy and want to exploit people in other countries, than charge exuberant prices for shoddy goods.

you right it is not the presidents fault but the goverment(which the president is the head of) makes it easier and easier for the corps to do this. Also i am not taking repubs or Dems or just this president. The lobbyists with the most money run Washington, well who has the big cheese?? Thats right big business.

Well, considering I used words like "you"....how could you think that?

Every government does. This administration is doing it less than most. It doesn't matter what the mindless Bush-bashers say.

I like a lot of peole just want to be able to go to work put in a honest days work, pay our fair share of taxes, and be able to make a decent living and have decent country to live in. I think that is becoming harder and harder to do with the mishandling of our tax dollars.

I agree, for the most part. Every administration mis-uses our tax dollars. Again, this administration does it less than most.

My problem is that when people and moan about how Bush is the reason that they do not have a job....I ask them what their skills are. When they reply that they only have one skill, I tell them it's a personal problem. It has nothing to do with our government.....it's a personal choice not to expand one's skills.

Yes, it is. Capiltalism - in it's most extreme form - will fail. Capitalism and the free market isn't a bad thing...socialism isn't a bad thing...but taken to their extreme forms...they are eaten by dominant forces every time...so you end up with a government based totalitarianist system...or a puppet government answering to the whims of coroporate-based totalitarianism.

You can't go extreme in either direction, and America is slowly growing closer to doing so.
