In a 2-player keeper league. I have to choose between Julio Jones, Dez Bryant and Matt Forte. It's PPR.
Which of those 2 would you keep and why?

Julio for sure, If all three stay healthy I think he is the best player.
Toss up for the other two, PPR I'd go with Bryant and then focus on drafting RB's early since you have two good WR's already.

Agreed. Bryant and Jones are safer bets to stay healthy too. Forte plays RB and he's getting mileage used on him by Chicago.
Keep the receivers, focus on RBs early
That's JMO, and although I haven't fantasy football'd in like 4 years, I was always pretty darn good at it. Just no time for it anymore

I would first do the research and see which WR has the best matchups for coverage's and then pick Forte and one of the WR.
Good RBs are very hard to get even in PPR formats, There is always 1-2 sleeper WR that you can scoop up playing the waiver wire game.

Isn't Dez in a contract year? That alone would make me want to keep him.....Jones coming off an injury, tough call

I agree, I would lean toward Dez over Julio as well because of the injury, and he doesn't have a Roddy White around to eat into his targets.

I would go Julio only because Dez may have Weeden throwing to him and take Forte , I rb and 1 WR

I've never played FF before, but we are starting a PPR league at work, and was wondering if you guys would mind advising a general strategy for drafting. I always thought you'd want your QB first, but I guess that's not necessarily the case, unless we're talking about Peyton Manning or maybe Aaron Rodgers. Do you guys generally look RB first?
Sorry Diehard - don't mean to hijack the thread - just a few brief comments would be helpful though. Thanks.

RB's and WR's are gold. Tight ends and Qb's are bronze. Some mix of those are silver.
But Qb is definetly bronze, not gold or silver.

good rb's are very hard to get unless your in the top 5 picks. Forte is a rec machine in that off. in my ppr league last year, between rb,and wr the top 3 were rb with forte being 3rd in total scoring. for receptions he was 26th rb and wr..... 3rd if your just talking rb's top was 77 and he had 74. i would shy away from Julio due to coming off the foot injury which is a multiple injury to the same foot i do believe. Dez should be your other choice. he is the focal point of the offense. and just because they might have to go with weeden does not mean crap.. look what Gordon did with that POS under center. hmm Gordon had back to back 200+ yard games.
plus add in the fact that dallas def sucks so they will be passing a lot more then maybe Atl.
so under my logic go with Dez and Forte

I'd agree, especially with Dez. I think he's set up for a long run of consistent success
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

First, really good input from all here. I'm thinking Dez and Forte. I'm concerned about Julio's health but damn...when he's healthy, he's HOF material. I have a feeling whichever player I don't choose will probably be the #1 pick in our draft. I draft 11th so I will probably be looking at different options.
But to your question, it really depends on the scoring format. If pts are weighted heavily towards QBs, someone like P Manning should go #1. So, if they award 1 pt per 10 yards passing...QBs have more pts. If they score 1 pt per 25 yds passing (which is normal in most leagues), then it might make sense to get a top notch WR or RB first, especially if it's a ppr league. You can't go wrong with a RB who catches the ball a lot like LeSean McCoy or Forte. If ppr, someone like Antonio Brown has sneaky good value - Many folks forget about him but he led all WRs in scoring in ppr formats. Heck, even Julian Edelman had over 100 catches last year.
It's quite addictive and fun. Makes all NFL games interesting.

If anyone has questions or want a list of a few sites that i use for my ffl feel free to pm me. I have been playing FF since the mid 90's. I prefer not to post them in plain view. some might be in the same league with each other or some of my competition might be on here too. Some of the sites are free and some are paid. the best one i use is a paid site for info but it is top notch.

Except when you have AJ Green.. against Cleveland... and he barely gets 50 yards... but your team wins, but your fantasy team loses because of it..
Good thing I shave my head. No hair to pull out...
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?
