you would pass up the chance at cowher?

To each his own, but...

For the dawg gone life of me I can't understand why any Browns fan would want the "Steeler's Coach" to come to the Browns.

He is one great coach and a good character person. I'll give you that. But he has been and will always be known as "the Steelers Coach". Everything about him reeks of the Steelers.

Even if he came here and we won a superbowl as a result, we'd not be able to enjoy it fully as Browns fans because there would be constant "Steelers" references throughout the whole ordeal. During the season, throughout the playoffs and all through the superbowl game the media would be bringing up the Steelers and what a great job Cowher did winning a superbowl with them (first) and now with us (second). We would always be second. He did coach there first.

We couldn't play a freaking game without mention of the Steelers!

Our success would forever be tied to the Steelers and their coach. Personally, I would hate that in every fiber of my being.

When the Browns win the superbowl I want the Browns to win the superbowl.

Any reference to the Steelers within that should only be that we kicked their ass to get there.

Solid man...SOLID...I'm still trying to get over Lewis being here...Ain't there yet...

The ONLY saving grace for me anyway with Cowher is the fact he started here...

SAVAGE...ANYONE...And that includes YOU VERS...That wants Savage gone after his 3rd year is a totally lacking individual when it comes to developing NFL talent...I include u VERS because u smack Savage every chance u get...

Mark this down as FACT...This football team will be drafting TOP FIVE every year if we continually change over the GM every 3 years...And the HC isn't too far behind that time frame...

U cannot change philosophy of an NFL team that quickly when the entire team was torn down and redone...IMO Savage is about as SAFE as ANYONE in the NFL...As well he should be because Like what he's done or not...He hasn't made ANY DISASTROUS DECISIONS...

These picks he's bringing in are maturing yearly...It is why a QB like Quinn will be a solid pick for this team...And sorry SOUP...A QB at 3 DOES NOT MEAN THE OL IS BEING NEGLECTED...

IMO Quinn will start day one in Cleveland...Coupled with the maturity of assembled players...Another FA period in 2008 and another Draft...Quinn will be ready to rock come 2008...

FIRING SAVAGE IS STUPID............At this point...

i've really been trying to stress the theory that the browns aren't neglecting the offensive line by taking a player other than joe thomas at #3...

people are putting way too much into this pick, it's just one pick, one guy, it's an important pick, no doubt, but if this pick doesn't pan out, or blows out his knee, or just doesn't work, it's not the end of the world...

i threw the cowher thing out there, because we've all heard the rumors...

i don't know how i feel about it, i do know that i feel phil and romeo both deserve more than this year... but if randy lerner sees a chance to bring in cowher, he can

and i agree i don't like the idea of a coach/gm being one in the same, i'd rather have 2 guys running the show and working together, 2 heads are better than one...

and who knows, maybe guys like travis wilson and brodney pool will come alive this year and make phil look like a genius...

do you guys think romeo is canned after this year, if the browns win 5-6 games at the most? i think it's a possibility...

i've said it a million times, and i'll say it again, i would love for romeo to stick around and concentrate on just the defense, if he indeed gets fired at some point down the road... i don't think he takes another head coaching job, i don't think he's one of those guys that needs to prove he can get the job done, he's a great defensive coordinator, and i think he knows that there is nothing wrong with that...

i really like phil savage though, you can't really knock him too much for what he's done so far...

if we only won 5 or 6 games, Romeo would have a hard time keeping his job. 3 years of double digit losses would be hard to overcome. the only way he stays with 6 wins, is if quinn starts the last half of the season and gets us some momentum &hope for 2008. if we pick thomas or peterson and still have 10 or more losses, I can't see how romeo would stay.

say romeo wins 7 and cowher gives lerner feelers he wants to coach here, I would fire romeo in a heartbeat. If we got cowher that would be the best news this franchise would hear since we've been back. Just his intensity, track record, philososphy on offense and defense would be too good to pass up. him coming here would bring the rivarly back where it needs to be. I swear if cowher is interested, Lerner should fire crenell without hesitation.

This the year we should begin to see glimmers of hope and some find performances. Guys like Winslow, Edwards, Frye, Lewis, Wimbley, Jackson, Pool, Jones and Bodden need to perform better than they have in the past.

This is the thing that gets me though.. I don't think Phil should go regardless and if we are even a little better than last year, I'd be willing to give RAC another year too... but look at the above list of players...

TE, WR, QB, RB, LB, LB, S, S, CB....

Anybody notice anything that's missing? How about a freakin' lineman on either side of the ball...
