The only way to get an avatar is an external link?

I still have to import all the ones from the old site.

Not sure if I can just do a direct copy, or if I have to manually add each one individually.

Looking into it shortly.... trying to decipher the styling of new posts a bit more right now.

That'll be returning for sure, but it's not a top priority right now.

can we tone down the white link text in the lower right corner of each post a little? (wish list) medium grey or something? the Reply Quote Quick Reply Quick Quote Notify Email Post. I feel like if it's a more subtle color it won't be so distracting lol

Purp, is there a way to delete more than a page of PMs at once? There's a limit of 200 here and I'm way over that. I've deleted about 30 pages, but I've still got hundreds to go….

That's how the old board was, but it had nothing to pull them all together into a thread when doing the migrate/conversion to this, so they're still separate. Going forward, private messages will be more like private topics/threads in behavior and appearance.

I heard the forums crashed due to someone saying something nice about someone else in the EE forum...

There are a LOT of options here, not sure we need them all.

My fav message board was the old clevelandbrowns.com one. It was VERY simple (maybe too simple) to use. I loved the set-up. It wasn't very popular and completely overly moderated, but from a pure message board set-up, it was definitely decent.

Hopefully this new format will grow on me.

P.S. I see my post count has dropped by about a thousand posts....

If anyone has a problem logging, it took me 3 attempts, so keep trying.

Considering how popular the backup is in Cleveland, this site should soar in popularity.

The MyUploads thing hasn't been re-added, yet, but I *think* you might be able to upload an avatar now.

Nevermind, I see. No error, it proceeds like the upload works, but it does nothing.

I'll see if I can track down the issue today.

It might just be me, but when tried out the different styles, those "dark" options sure look like a ratbird theme.

Yeah, they do. It's totally coincidental, but they do.

Avatar Uploads from within the 'Edit Profile' page have been fixed.

I wish we could get back to the main page instead of just the forum we're in, though.

At the top of the page, you have the "breadcrumbs" that do just this (Forums >> DawgTalkers Message Boards >> Everything Else).

At the bottom of the page, we just have the button to take you back up one level from the current view.

I can look into adding the breadcrumbs at the bottom - I do prefer having more options for smoother navigation.

I think it was this way on the old board…so I'm used to it and it's not that big of a deal. Would just be nice to get to the front without having to select from the drop down and hitting go (on the right bottom) when at the bottom of a page. (And, it seems default is the forum you are already in.)

Hmmm, I've never used that option, hehe.... I always just click the "Index" link on the lower left to take me back up one level.


The more I think about it, the more I want breadcrumbs at the bottom, too.

I think that I also want to have all of the links (Forum List, My Stuff, User List, Active Topics, Search, FAQ) moved into a dropdown menu like the Links in the upper left, then perhaps slide the whole thing over to the far right under the Log Out so that ONLY the breadcrumbs occupy that space on the right (it feels cluttered to me the way it is, not clean and tidy).

Can we still make the ads go away by making a donation?

Getting a lot of date ads and motorcycle mechanic ads for some reason.

This will take some time to get added back in. That was a total customization that I'll have to put back together here.
