Yikes.

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdo...-234957206.html

Even at his worst, Cutler is a thousand times better than Clausen from what I've seen. Clausen is on Brady Quinn's level. My brother is a Bears fan and he said he heard that Cutler will be traded or let go after the season. With Clausen as his QB, I feel his pain.

Clausen makes Brady Quinn look like an All Pro. crazy

As many problems as we have had, I still feel bad for Bears fans.

I remember when some people wanted Trestman as the head coach here ..... including Bernie Kosar. (Sorry Bernie) He took a 10 win team and turned them into ..... this. crazy

Cutler has failed to do things like... checked out of plays, making audibles and things is the jist I get with everything I have heard and read about him and his decline and amongst other things obviously.

In any case, whether he is at Chicago next year or not, he's going to pocket $15.5 million from the Bears. Also in any case, I hope we don't pursue him. When your own coach goes to the media and then makes it public that he was the source of the comments - calling that a "dead issue" is a joke. We all know that isn't a dead issue there in Chicago and now with him getting benched for the likes of a Clausen... not looking good for the appearance of Jay or really the organization under Trestman in general..

When I saw this come up in my news feed yesterday, I just said "Wow, how bad is it getting in Chicago?" And, my second thought was "Glad the Browns didn't push too hard to try to bring Cutler to Cleveland!!"

I ask this question...

If Johnny Manziel looks like a complete turd these last two games and shows zero improvement, does Jay Cutler become an option for next season?

It's of my own personal opinion that we have a "ready to win now" team (assuming we upgrade in the trenches in the offseason).

Is this organization going to wanna give Manziel 2-3 seasons to develop and learn? Or do you potentially roll the dice and go after a guy such as Jay Cutler who has Shanahan ties?

Personally I would say NO to Cutler.

Most overrated QB in the league.

If we go after Cutler, then we have thrown away any chance to win next year.

Bradford yes, Cutler no - unless its a one yeaer need for anyone who is looking for their franchise QB.

Cutler reminds at this point of his career of the QB George (jeff?) Such a talented QB but couldn't get over the hump...and he had a lot of shots at that hump!

With pretty good teams on both sides of the ball for him.

Someone could sell me on Bradford, but, no way on Cutler.

He's pressers after games are like listening to a more apathetic Pat Shurmur, if that's possible. lol

Mentally, I don't think that he is a good leader and that is something TOO important at the QB spot.

Hoyer showed good leadership. Unfortunately, he just doesn't quite have everything to be that franchise QB.

I was just thinking that a little bit ago.

I would go after Sam Bradford in a heart beat.

I was pretty high on Clausen when he came out. Wanted him in the second. He has had one opportunity to prove himself and it was w/a completely decimated Carolina team that lost all the RBs and most of their OL. I would not write him off yet.

I am not saying he is going to be successful. I am simply saying that it's not a given that he will fail.

Bradford? The guy has a huge contract. Will he accept peanuts? He is always hurt. He hasn't been good when he has had his chances. There is something missing w/the guy. I think it starts w/a T.

I would rather stab myself in the urethra than watch Cutler wear a Cleveland Browns jersey.

Have some dignity!

It is amazing that Trestman is proving to be this bad of a head coach, given that he at least did have successful head coaching time in Canada. (and won a championship as well, IIRC) Trestman's problems aren't the X's and O's of the game ...... his problems are being unable to handle players. That should have been a developed skill for a guy who was a head coach, even in Canada, than for a coordinator getting his 1st chance at the head role at any level. Instead it looks like he has never dealt with players before in his life.

I was never impressed with Trestman when he was here. I know that Bernie loved/loves the guy, and wanted him here ..... but I was unimpressed with his schemes when he was here, and I believe that he actually helped hasten the end of Kosar's career by getting him beat around in the pocket as much as he did. It wasn't just that Kosar got sacked a lot, but he also took a ton of hits after the throw in Trestman's offense.

I breathed a huge sigh of relief when he was hired by the bears.
