Why did it take getting benched for Hoyer to wake the hell up? Sometimes that's what it takes. Well, if that's what it takes to get hoyer motivated then he for SURE isn't the future. Commit to the guy and he'll go back to sucking.... I take it you've never coached a team.

If we keep Farmer and company I figure they will keep Johnny and let Hoyer go. Then either draft a QB in the 3rd or later.... or pick up a journeyman Vet as a backup.

I think the safest thing for the Browns to do is sign Hoyer and give him the starter job for next year. Tell Manziel he's the back up. He needs to do more sitting.
Then hope that Hoyer's struggles this year were because he hit a wall.
Trading up for a QB is idiotic. Then you're just sitting on two guys with little chance of being a success. I don't think we will make a move for a high-end QB in this draft, but I certainly wouldn't call it 'idiotic'. I do believe we have a team that's a fringe/viable playoff competitor if we just had a QB. The odds of Hoyer or Manziel being that QB is slim. Windows snap shut in the NFL very quickly. You have to make a move somewhere to shore up the position.

His knee was done before the ball came out! And these refs are the worst so far this year... And, we've had some bad ones
