Milk ... I'm impressed with the team's effort as well, which reflects their respect for the coaches IMO
On the other hand, screw the immature players

JM will probably be given a shot next year ( not necessarily as the starter), as will Gilbert. Gordon needs to go.
These players may be the dumbest people I have ever heard of. Haslam and Farmer have nobody to blame but themselves regarding Manziel and Gilbert. No, johnny dumbhead and gilbert have no one to blame but themselves. gordon as well. Don't drag Haslam and Farmer into the idiocy of gordon, manziel, and gilbert.

We are willing to give Manziel and Gilbert and second shot.....guys who clearly have much to do to prove their worth in this league (although Gilbert improved slightly), but Gordon, a person who has proven to be elite, we are willing to purge. Granted, Gordon has a longer track record but wouldn't you think that a player making less $$ than the above two mentioned players, and has proven to be a valuable piece to a team on the field, would be given more consideration?

So they are to blame as well as the players, of course.

I was impressed with the effort the team put forth given the circumstances. The team played hard. Kudos to the players and coaching staff. That is what I was hoping to see today - a team giving it's all and a coaching staff that was able to implement a game plan that complimented Shaw. With all the distractions, it would have been easy to get killed today and begin looking at the off-season...and we played hard with lesser talent. That confirmed to me we have the right staff in place and we need to keep adding value-added players.

1. Shaw looked ok, especially for having his first game being the last game of the season and playing against a team that was playing for the playoffs.
2. Need WRs. Austin is hurt and a FA.
3. Felt that their were bad calls by refs, one, possibly 2 Interference calls against Balt.
4. T West played well.
5. Manziell and Gordon need to go. Not only have they played badly, but they are both off distractions to players that are trying to make a difference.
6. Need to draft sign/draft WRs.. LB.. OL. Picks are too low to get another QB. Too many other needs to package both 1st round picks for a QB.
7. Season over... My thoughts as well. The refs angered me more today than in a long time. I think we can build a good team around Hoyer and Shaw next draft/off-season and fill the rest of the needs. I can then understand selling out for your QB off the future in 2016. It really feels like we are almost there.

JM and JG have growing up to do. They are both young and have plenty of time to do so. Josh has growing up to do also the difference is is that he is older and has been in trouble. JM and Justin have not been which is in their favor.

But here's the big question: while the Browns are waiting for the malcontents to "grow up," how much will that cost the franchise and the other players?
At some point it becomes addition by subtraction

JM and Justin have not been which is in their favor. I'm torn on this one...you have 2 'kids' that have disciplined themselves for their entire lives to a team sport, know full well the commitment and dedication it takes for a team sport, finally get their 'dream job' and then changes their work ethic and mindset? At least with JM, you saw this coming with all the hype and marketing he did in college - and some of it is mind-boggling! If I didn't know better, he would be happy to drive the JM marketing machine, not start and make tons of money, and be out of the league in a few years healthy and doing something else...

I have nothing bad to say about the guys that were out there today. I thought they played really hard, just ran out of gas at the end. Joe Haden is a man. Playing banged up and sick. Really like that we have guys like Dansby and Whitner. Tough veterans that are vocal leaders and not afraid to call players out. I thought Shaw looked pretty cool out there and West ran really hard. Hopefully, West will continue that tough play. Defense played well just was tired at the end. Felt really bad for the guys that do it right and played hard today, just fell short.
We are terrible

I thought Shaw played well for a rookie getting his first start. He was head and shoulders above Johnny. I fully expected the team to phone it in today but was pleasantly surprised by the effort that they put out there today. It showed that Pettine has the respect of his team. Johnny and Gordon need to be traded ASAP for whatever we can get for them. They have proven to my satisfaction that they will to continue to do more harm than good. I would give Gilbert one more year to get his act together. The team needs to sign Hoyer to a contract as soon as possible and we should add complimentary pieces around him. The team played just good enough to be out of contention for any of the quality quarterbacks that are about to come out. The QB position needs to wait a little longer.

Browns fans are amazing. Maddening actually. I get absolutely reamed for saying what a pathetic pile of crap Gordon was right after he came back, but almost everyone on this board acted like he was the best WR in the NFL. Now those same people want him cut all of a sudden? lol What a joke. Wait till next year! lol Wait till next year so they will suck even worse than the year before. We all need to wake up!
Congratulations to our 2016 NBA Champion CLEVELAND CAVALIERS!!! Greatest comeback in sports history... Hail to the King!

Gordon cost himself A LOT of money this weekend. There's no way we part ways with him, now that we can keep him for another year. You always keep cheap, elite-level talent when you can. If it makes you feel better, pay the guy each week in nickels and pennies.
One of our priorities this offseason is getting a stud WR. Get his replacement before he's gone. I HIGHLY doubt Gordon is signing another contract with us, and I think both sides mutually dislike each other. I think the guy is a tool, and I'll be a huge fan to anybody who will take his spot on this team as our stud WR.
As for Manziel, you hold onto him too. He's cheap and he has potential (potential to be a franchise QB, and potential to get his head out of his butt) due to him being so young. That said, he needs to be absolutely buried on the depth chart. I'm not sure this is possible with the QB position, but I want Manziel looking at his competition in training camp, and thinking there's a possibility he might not make the team.
Pettine and Farmer should really talk up Shaw, and how well he prepared for this game. If Manziel has any sense at all, Shaw playing the way he did is a huge slap in the face to Manziel.
I'm not a Manziel or Gordon hater, but I'm just getting so sick of them.
Gilbert... I don't really know what to make of him. Gordon's and Manziel's stupidity is well-documented, but I always thought Gilbert at least had his head on straight.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

IMO you should keep these 3 guys and hope they grow up and turn it around. If you cut them loose now you get nothing. Even if they only turn it around somewhat you'll be able to get something for them if the team feels they should go.

I've read this a few times now and I don't get it. Gilbert was the highest rated CB in the draft and the one CB who's skill set was what we wanted, Everything I read about him was good. I think people just need to blame someone because he has a bad attiutde. IMO Farmer drafted someone he thought was the best for his coach, You can't really blame anyone except Gilbert for that. Just like Djang, always wanting to blame the FO for things beyond their control. I also think Haslam has learned his lesson and will now let the FO do what they want after the Johnny thing. I would give the FO a couple of years before always throwing them under the bus.

Gilbert was the highest rated CB in the draft and the one CB who's skill set was what we wanted I actually think Dennard fit the mold more in terms of a physical press corner. You can't really blame anyone except Gilbert for that. Yeah, you can. I mean, is it possible that Gilbert was a diligent worker at OSU, and then suddenly became a lazy ass when he hit the NFL? Sure. But it's not likely. These things shouldn't surprise a staff. They have departments working year round to figure this stuff out.

Beyond their control?
They picked him admitting he was a crappy tackler.
Along with Steve, I had Fuller as the best CB in this draft...he turned in the best rooie season of them all....and we're just armchair GMs. Is it too much to ask our GM being better than that?
