Shaq Thompson. I don't know what position he will play in the NFL, he is undersized for a linebacker, but he is just a playmaker. He is kind of a linebacker/safety hybrid. He also played running back in college.
Ty Montgomery is a wide receiver from Stanford. He is very talented, but he had horrible QB play the whole year. Stanford used him as a Wildcat QB at times.
Eric Kendricks won the Butkus award. He is a prototypical inside linebacker. His brother plays for the Eagles.
Ifo Ekpre-Olomu is a corner from Oregon. He tore his ACL in the weeks leading up to the Rose Bowl. He might be available later than his talent dictates because of the injury (he was a first round talent before the injury).
(The music on the videos is horrible, I would mute it before playing them.)
Jeff Heuerman, TE, Ohio State, 6-5, 255, 4th Round Projection
From CBS/Draftscout (Dane Brugler):
STRENGTHS: Reliable option as both a blocker and pass catcher, using his size, strength and deceiving speed to be a versatile weapon.
Gets up to his full speed quickly and sustains with a physical demeanor after the catch, looking to capitalize each time he touches the ball. Heuerman displays natural body adjustments to contort his frame and use his length to snare catches while staying balanced in his route.
In Urban Meyer's offense, Heuerman has lined up inline, in the backfield and as a wideout in the slot, also seeing snaps on special teams and giving Meyer options due to his tight end's versatility. As a blocker, Heuerman is tough-minded and gritty with the brute strength to eliminate his man from the play or hold his ground as a brick wall in pass protection.
Although he struggled with some fastballs on tape, he has usually reliable ball skills, looking the ball into his large mitts.
WEAKNESSES: He doesn't have explosive traits, and is not a big-play threat or dynamic athlete.
A high character team leader, he isn't elite in any one area, but is well-rounded and has a pro skill-set that makes him one of the top 10 senior tight end prospects in the country.
Player Overview A former top recruit, Heuerman had only nine catches to his name entering last season, but he set career-bests in 2013 with 26 catches for 466 yards and four scores.
Seeing as how Connor Cook is most likely staying at MSU, and we aren't going to sniff Mariota or Winston, I was going to pimp Bryce Petty in the 3rd round. And then I read this:
Strengths Weaknesses STRENGTHS: He has a lot of positive throws out there along with size, mobility and resilient toughness to rally the troops. Has more than enough arm strength to make every throw, displaying excellent timing within Baylor's pass-happy, shotgun offense.
When he gets in a rhythm, Petty is highly efficient passing downfield, showing touch, timing and placement, especially when peppering zone coverage with quick throws underneath. Has shown improvement with functional mobility to extend plays outside of the pocket and hit targets downfield for big plays vertically.
WEAKNESSES: Often predetermines his reads and locks in to his primary target, struggling to consistently diagnose the defense to work through his progressions. He is always in shotgun formation and isn't asked to move his feet unless he has to and once he's pressured, Petty is out of his element, struggling to reset his base or eyes.
Petty tests a lot of vertical throws with a lot of bucket tosses, but he doesn't throw for a high percentage downfield and often throws up passes that can be best categorized as 50-50 balls.
NFL teams are already weary about quarterbacks from spread offenses, and some of Petty's 2014 game tape won't help his draft stock.
COMPARES TO: Brandon Weeden, Cowboys -- Petty is reminiscent of a younger, more athletic version of Weeden, coming from a spread offense that relies on a lot of quick, one-read plays that make it easy to identify single match-ups.
For those who covet receiver DeVante Parker, you could get similar later drafting Vince Mayle (6'3";240), Washington State.
Quote:
Washington St WR Vince Mayle would be a good "Plan B" on day two for a team that covets WR DeVante Parker but doesn't get him in the 1st round," Brugler tweeted. The Washington State prospect has showcased strong hands, with the ability to high-point the football in contested situations this year. On the season, Mayle has hauled in 101 receptions and 1,405 yards which are each single-season records at Washington State
he is a good one. I think he is probably in that early 2nd late first range. I think as we get closer to the draft more and more receivers are gonna move up and push these weaker positions down. Would not be surprised if end up with a dozen receivers going in the top 40.
I like how he goes up and snatches the ball out of the air. Also, looks like the ball just sticks to his fingers. Of course this is a highlight videos so I am sure there are some drops out there somewhere to look at

Originally posted by another dawgtalker in years past. They post cutups of a player for the full game. Both good and bad plays.
For Mayne, so far all they have is the Utah game. He had 2 td catches that game. One he improvises after the play breaks down then makes a really nice catch the other was a big play because of a defensive breakdown by the defense.
All in all not a great game for him. He seems to have a tendency to not run routes hard when the play is designed to go away from him though admittedly a very limited sample size.
And he looks really weak when trying to block on run plays or after another receiver catches the ball. Pretty much the only effectiveness of his blocking that he was doing on those plays was because of the holding he was doing.

I like Amari Cooper, Amari Cooper and lastly, Amari Cooper.
Isn't Amari Cooper = Tavon Austin?
Do the Browns need, assuming Gordon is no longer, another small receiver? Or, is 6'1" tall enough? Looking at Browns makeup does Cooper fit? I like Cooper. I simply question fit. Browns need a replacement for Gordon and, soon, Miles Austin.
One item I feel Browns are missing is leadership at receiver. Wish Joe Jurevicius was coming now.
I can say the same at running back. Tate was such a disappointment. Someone should have shown Hillis's history with the Browns.
While watching the Florida and ECU bowl game...I didn't watch the game in its entirety but saw around 80 percent of it...am I the only one who noticed Fowler from Florida not standing out? idk but he seemed contained easily and didn't even see him on much of the tackles or impact plays...It was my first time seeing ECU play...I think since David Garrard was their QB lol...I liked the story of the wide out for them who has set all sorts of records and was a high school QB...Justin Hardy...came as a walk on I believe...a strong 40 could push him up draft boards...The announcers kept raving about his work ethic and spevtacular hands...but I don't know too much about him...
Cooper is really smooth on the field...just can play all over it, and makes plays all over it...he reminds me a lot of Jeremy Maclin...he's not a gadget wideout like Tavon Austin...he's not going to shield you away with his big body and hi pointing (Julio Jones) He's just super smooth in and out of breaks, gains good separation...and has really superb hands...his speed is an asset too...but I'm not sure of his timed speed...but he seems fast in college...but then again that can be said of a lot of players...would be dream if he fell into our laps...however WRs always go in abundance and he will be gone, barring something horrible.
A guy I've been pimping on here since Septemeber has been WR Jaelen Strong from Arizona State...I love the way he plucks the ball out of the air with his big 6'4 215 frame...only thing I worry is I don't know if its the way their offense is...but I know he dominates in plays...but never saw him dominate a game...which in college I'd like to see that...I also wonder about his speed...but he would be a steal in round 2...probably will be a late round 1 pick though...
I love Telvin Coleman the RB from Indiana...I think he's a superb talent...I wouldn't hesitate spending a pick on him, if we hadnt already traded up in round 3 last year to grab TWest...I doubt Coleman will be anywhere on our draft board as we have other pressing needs...
Farmer blew it last year by trading down. I don't think he will take that chance again. I look for him to trade up in the top 5 picks and take a blue chipper. Depending on who he takes in FA, QB or WR, will dictate who he takes in the draft.
Jaelen Strong the WR from Arizona State....I'm lobbying for him at #12
Bryce Petty the QB from Baylor....Crossing my fingers for him at #19
We do need help defensively, I'm in 100% agreement, but you have to score points to win games and the last six games of the season our offense was laughable. We need some help...
"You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave"
Thanks Water...yeah I watched 80 percent of the game didn't hear his name once...only saw him running behind plays...yet I looked at the stats to the bowl game they credited him with 3 sacks? I must have missed all his plays lol he was invisible when I watched him
The only QB that could be at 19 that I'd take would be Cook.. And he's probably staying at MSU.. And even then I might try to hope he drops to the 2nd round and move ours up for him...
I will say this.. If we draft any QB before the 4th round.. We almost have to get rid of Johnny.. I'm just not seeing a way that scenario can function properly...
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?
FWIW, just saw two games of Fowler Jr and I like him much better than Beasley, but still am not sure what to make of him. He's a smart player, who plays to down and distance, very mature for any College pass rusher, let alone a Junior.
That said, he does not seem to have Beasley's get off and burst. He's almost always last to move off the snap, but strangely on GL plays he shoots upfield like shot out of a cannon. Might be that he plays to the situation and not only for sacks and stats. In the games I saw he hustled on all plays, even down multiple scores in the 4th Qtr and showed a very good motor overall.
You know what? There will be a Fowler thread soon

I don't watch a ton of college football other than the Buckeyes. That is, until the draft gets near and I watch player film. I know he isn't exactly a scheme fit but I really like Michael Bennett. He is tough and athletic. I think he will project well to the next level as a 4-3 DT.
I believe his name is Sir Big Fat DT from Name School weight 350 LBs...I like him. Can we have him?
Or...

I'll also take him.
Well, if we're getting specific, then I want top QB who makes Peyton Manning look like Charlie Frye with our 1st pick, and big fast DE who will double JJ Watt's production with our later 1st.
