Here's a photo journey from today. Starting at the Island for a little bit of tailgating and working our way to the Stadium for all the wonderful festivities. Hope ya'll enjoy.

Cool pics... but it's just not right seeing Muni that empty

Did the place go nuts when we took Thomas?? What was it like when we doubled back at took Quinn?

Ok, here's the deal, I had already started to move on out the door by getting in my last photo ops of the day so I have no clue what the reaction was to the Quinn pick. (downstairs in the Team shop) To give you an idea of what it was like at the moment of impact............imagine the loudest, craziest and funkiest moment at a Browns game and triple it. The place went spastic monkey. (only way I can explain it) The announcer that was covering the party was funny, he got us warmed up for the possible picks for the 3rd. He named Russell, not a good response, named Quinn even worse response, then said Joe Thomas and the place erupted. It was good practice but nothing like what it really sounded like. Most incredible experience ever....just hearing the reaction of the fans first hand.

I was there, and the move for Quinn was joyous indeed! No one at the draft party wanted Quinn at 3, but when the trade came down at 22, it was a definte yes!

Here's my review of the Draft Day Party at CBS for anyone interested. I attended the VIP Party and the Regular Party.

VIP PARTY REVIEW:
In short, it sucked.
The cost was $150/ticket ($300 for me since I brought the gfriend). Our 'gifts' for paying were a backpack, a little scratch pad thing and an autographed mini-helmet of Paul Warfield. Being an autograph collector, I like the helmet but that was about it. The food spread was ok and the main attraction was a Q&A with Kevin Mack. Don't get me wrong, I love Mack and the team that he represents, but had I known I was paying $300 for a Q&A with Mack, I would have passed.
To compare, I attended the VIP Party two years ago (they scratched it last year). For the same cost, we got an autographed full size ball with a number of current players, a very nice leather padfolio, meet & greet with a handful of current players and professional pictures taken with a current player. It also included food during the actual draft party and this year we had to pay. It wasn't a bargain at $150/ticket, but I at least left happy.

REVIEW OF DRAFT PARTY THROUGHOUT THE STADIUM:
In short, great time!
I think the cost of admission to just this was $15. And it was a great time. Got some good autographs of current and former players and the atmosphere was fun. There was a silent auction (didn't win anything) and they had 'stations' at 3 different spots at the stadium - Legends, Grid Iron Grille and the South Club Lounge. It was just a good time overall.

Last year when they did not have the VIP party, apparently a lot of people asked for them to bring it back. The girl that put it together said they had so many requests that they brought it back again this year. The only problem was that I think they just threw something together and didn't really put much thought into it.

I would recommend the $15 draft day party next year, but not the VIP party. Who knows, w/o a 1st round pick next year (as of now) they may not even hold it at all.

Very cool Hoop! I didn't want Brady at 3, but when we got in him at 22 I was thrilled to say the least. We had a small party at our house and everyone went crazy when we saw the trade with Big D go down, and even crazier with the Quinn pick. A great day IMO!!!

gobrowns!

Thanks for sharing all the pics. It would have been nice to be there with you all.

I was at an OSU bar in Chicago. It had a few Browns fans in it (John Barleycorn on Clybourn). The biggest roar was when Ginn went the the Phins (or more like moans).

Good time.

I know what you mean. Lama and I were stunned, just looked at each other like this and shaking our heads and then giggling cuz the camera panned to Quinn, he really really needs to learn how to have a poker face.

The way I remember it many peple were laughing at Quinn's expense. I was standing ten feet away from some active Browns players when Miami picked Ginn. From the pointing and hysterical laughing coming from the players I think they took pleasure in it also. I don't know maybe they were just happy because they knew we would get him. I really doubt it though.

I also heard some people saying they didn't want to trade back for Quinn. It seemed most of those people changed their opinions once the deal was made. That is except for one.

Let's just say her hatred for the guy hasn't changed now that he is a brown and probably never will.

How was the atmosphere at the stadium when we took Quinn?

It was incredible on the block party in Athens. Phenomenal.

Well considering I left right before we took Quinn I couldn't say. But when I found out I almost wrecked my jeep.

Good amount of cheers. They were beginning to "thin the herd" so-to-say at that time, and only about 30% of the crowd that was there remained.

See Hoopers video, the place absolutely went wild for Thomas.

Have to say that that moment will be burnt into my memory for a long time to come. The sounds and the emotions that were flowing when it was announced for Joe T. Wish I coulda been there to see the reaction of the fans to Quinn.

These videos get me choked up a tad. I don't know if I'm being hormonal or if the feeling of seeing our luck finally changing has me overwhelmed with joy tears. Anyone else feeling it?
