Haha Flacco! Great INT, 1:39 and one timeout for the Ravens. NE is it's way to advancing, as if that was a shocker. This game was good though, I wouldn't have guessed it would have been this close.

Pretty crappy play by Smith there. He made no attempt at the ball and love tapped the defender who intercepted.

Sherman picks Newton and gives him a 'think' helmet point, then Beats rolls a Sherman AC/DC ad.

Love that guy.

Are the Panthers seriously trying to run read option plays on Seattle?

Their OC is Mike Shula.

Last week all they had to do was run ball every play. He threw it and almost lost the game for them. He is really, really bad.

Not all the time though it is accurate, that was right into his chest. Probably knocked the wind outta Benajamin a little rofl

Watching the QB play in the playoffs generally makes me want to throw up thinking about our QB play. I won't be surprised if we sign Lindley to be our starter.

He is a playoff QB. That is something we haven't had for awhile.

Still doesn't make it a wise throw. Newton's likely going to luck out that Thomas didn't hang onto it.

It seems like the refs botched that one. Didn't Chancellor get a piece of the second attempt?

Yeah, they didn't really show a good replay of it.

That being said, I absolutely loathe the "running into the kicker" penalty, even when it helps us like it did against the Texans. I hate how the kickers act like soccer players and if the guy is near him, the kicker/punter falls down like he just got stabbed.

Kind of surprised they picked that flag up, but that was a pretty weak slide by Newton. Plus the guy was already heading for the tackle.

I think it's because he's black. If that's their golden boy Russell Wilson it's a penalty.

I like these refs. They are absolutely letting theseDBs and WRs fight for the ball. Hand to hand combat.

Hopefully they call the super bowl game.

This Seattle D is just ridiculous. I think Russell Wilson is a good QB, but God how nice it would be to have this D to rely on.

Seattle has the two best safeties in the NFL.

Their entire defense.

Man. That's what a defensive squad looks like.

I think that they work together. They can take some chances on defense because they know that if they make a mistake, the offense can pick them up. They are the most complete team in the NFL.

And I don't say that to disparage their defense at all. They are the best unit in the NFL.

I think teams are catching on to something Flacco does- He will just chuck it and try to draw a DPI. It's going to lead to more INTs. I had to laugh when Haurbaugh accused the Patriots of shenanigans on that 4 o-linemen play. Ravens have manipulated getting away with DPI and drawing it for years.

Read this on another site and it backs up what I've said about Baltimore

Quote:
Baltimore's DPI's drawn through the Harbaugh era:
2014: 14 (#1 in the league)
2013: 14 (#2 in the league)
2012: 16 (#1 in the league)
2011: 11 (#4 in the league)
2010: 12 (#2 in the league)
2009: 6 (Middle of the pack)
2008: 3 (Near bottom)

The Ravens, more than any team, have benefited from DPI calls over the last 5 seasons. A pretty clear shift occurred in 2010 that just kept trucking along. This also only includes ACCEPTED penalties. I know the Ravens have declined at least one such call.

Doesn't it strike anyone else as strange that one team with a changing group of WR's would be near the tops in the league very season in this one category? Why, it's almost as if the Ravens teach their WR's to make contact with DB's to draw flags and take advantage of the ridiculous disadvantage defenders are at!

There are a lot of people who defend the policies of the league and the refs as a result or in a general sense. They say its no different now than its ever been. What I do know is that I don't recall teams using Defensive Pass Interference as a legitimate offensive strategy until recent history.
