and this is where we differ on opinion, I have a hard time believing that any QB could improve noticably without the help of his teammates,,,, thus I feel as if it's unreasonable to expect it..

Having said that, the powers that be within the browns felt that there was a need to do something,, I bow to thier knowledge which we all know is deeper than any of ours.. so, they either saw the need or they saw a chance to upgrade (there Attack,,, I said it,, ) and they took it...

You mean, the Browns front office knows more than the fans? Some posters on here will never believe that

I agree.
But after the Palmer and Davis era,it is a little hard to wrap your mind around that once in a while.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Savage has brought quite a bit of talent to this team.

Free Agents;

Ted Washington
Willie Mc G
Shaffer
JJ
Lewis
Steinback(SP?)
LCB(injury not his fault)
GBax(injury not his fault)
Fraley
Holly
Zastudil
Peek
R. Smith

All solid players and improvements...

Draft Picks

Edwards
Frye
Pool
Wimbley
DQ
Williams
Thomas
Quinn
Wright

UDFA's

Cribbs
Frasure

Unknown Talent/Projects

Promising

Harrison
Minter
Wilson
Barclay
C. Smith
Rob Smith
Shaun Smith
Jason Wright
Vickers
Hamilton
Sowells

Depth Players

Freidman
Butler
Dinkins
Anderson
N. Dorsey

All in all I would say this is a fairly solid job of equiping a team to win. Grade "A" in my book... "A+" if he hadn't brought in Ralph Brown, Ken Dorsey or traded Faine so fast.(only due to last years center fiasco)

I'm very glad we have Phil Savage as our GM.

So many people say that was Romeo's defense, not true.

I found this gem http://www.cincypost.com/sports/1999/cleve100699.html

'I talked with (defensive coordinator) Bob Slowik and our defensive staff early in spring about how difficult it is for a quarterback to identify who the rushers are,'' Palmer said. ''We came up with the idea of starting this UFO package, where we have several people who can rush the passer and drop into coverage.''
