All jokes aside.

We have to release him. There is no other option.

Well, this certainly cements Josh's lead in the Idiot of the Year contest. He's a shoo-in now.

Ha! Bye.

Man, tough to see someone throw so much talent and tens of millions of dollars away. Not my problem though. Aspen trip gone wrong!

Amari Cooper, Kevin White and DeVante Parker, hopefully, just shot up Farmer's draft board.

exactly why i wanted us to draft watkins.

we have to look at a WR in the 1st round. farmer needs to realize that while our WR did their job well, they are 5'7 and 5'8.

we either need to push hard to sign Chris Carters son, or in the draft.

As @AdamSchefter reports, Josh Gordon is facing one-year suspension. Per source, Gordon tested positive for alcohol.

Because of his DUI, alcohol is one of the substances for which Josh Gordon was being tested.

According to ProFootballTalk, he tested positive for alcohol... which apparently is one of the things he is being tested for due to his DUI.

I think this drug policy is a bit draconian. Anyone disagree?

It definitely is, but that is not an excuse. Gordon knew the rules and blew it again.

There is no reason to cut him. He isnt gonna cost us a thing and he is a good reminder for rookies as to why it takes more than talent.

Yes. Teams never cut players under these circumstances. The Jaguars still haven't cut Justin Blackmon.

Same.

I'm not saying getting drunk is cool..

But telling a professional athlete that's over 21 that they aren't allowed to drink is stupid.

No more excuses. Gordon put himself in the position where he is the tested the way he is, he knew the rules, he failed. Bye bye.

I'm surprised it is alcohol and I'm glad that I decided to read through the thread before I commented.

I was going to say that Haslam and Farmer should hold a presser in the next hour and say that they are parting ways with him. Money can't fix stupid and this kid evidently has it in spades...

i want to know if pettine, farmer, gordon and his agent knew that alcohol was a substance he wasn't allowed though.

i mean because all his past stuff was weed, so why alcohol?

He knew the rules. He knew the expectations. You can't play by the rules...bye bye. If alcohol was on his test list and he knew the expectations, this game/team meant nothing to him, what a total loser. Alcohol, weed, whatever, we are not the ones making the rules and enforcing them now are we?

You just can't fix stupid............having his picture taken (with our team "leader" by the way) in Aspen......when he knew alcohol was banned? What was he thinking??????????????

And on another note - is this an nfl thing, or is it a court thing? With a court, most times you get a "don't do drugs, stay out of bars, and don't drink alcohol" thing for....6 months, a year....maybe 2 years while you're on probation.

In all seriousness, I feel sorry for Gordon. He has legit issues (mental illness, addiction, or something like that). He needs major intervention in his life.

Well, there was that. One less thing that Flip has to study/worry about. Gordon had lost the bulk of my trust so this doesn't come of a major surprise.

I'm not disputing weather he broke the rules.

I just want to point out the irony that Gordon will get suspended for Alcohol..

When next week 1/3 of the SB commercials will be Budweiser..

Most people were ready for this the moment Gordon tested positive the previous time. I stupidly hoped he would turn his life around.

Serious question. How much was this kid drinking to have alcohol show up on a test? I mean, the body processes one ounce, one beer or one glass of wine in one hour. Which means, he would have had to consume LARGE amounts for it to show up on a test the next day, no????

I was just wondering the same thing.. It's not like he got pulled over today and failed a breathalizer..

He literally would of had to of been up all night drinking.. and walk into a test the next day..

I'm not doubting you one bit.

How do you get so stupid you can't abide by the rules when you're looking at your job on the line?

Gordon needs serious help.

John Manziel apparently was not the right guy to give him that help.

Does he?

Is he going to take it?

It's to the point that I no longer care about how his life ends, and to be honest, I only cared before because I knew he could help the team I root for..

If he's this much of a dumbass. Then I couldn't give a crap less with what happens to him.

Hopefully he saved some money, because partying all night isn't cheap..

If only we knew that alcohol was on Gordon's list of banned substances. We could have seen this coming the moment this picture came out. Look at the table in front of them!

Agreed. But.....WE didn't need to know alcohol was a banned thing for him - HE needed to know it And I bet he did know it......that's what makes him so dumb. Well, that, and years of token weed apparently.

We'll see. There will be hearings, and excuses..........but the guy has shown what he's all about: weed and booze. As a sideline job, he also played in the nfl. For a little bit.

Hey, John.........you watching?

I don't get the NFL trying to tell a guy he can't drink while letting others drink. Drugs no one can do, recreational or performance enhancing, no one gets to go there. Drinking, you can let some but not others?
