I think she is questioning what you are talking about. I don't know a whole lot of women who waste their time on Pro wrestling. What I mean is they are so busy with other intrests they don't have the time for it. Did I back peddle enough?

Vince KILLED ECW a LONG time ago when he bought it. ECW is a shell of it's former self. When Vince put his finger in the "ECW pie" and Heyman was pushed aside, ECW died.

I know... you're right Devil... I should have slept on it... I guess the shock and the realization that he would go that far and do something that stupid was too overwhelming to my system. I shouldn't be suprised anymore really but just when you think you've seen heard it all.

Do you think Vince really cares if he ruins it or not? He's paid, and Joe and Jane Doe are still going to put their money into it. Same goes for the whole Nascar thing. Nothing's the same as it used to be, fans are mad, and the suits DON'T CARE. That's life. Rich people suck.

Yes I have...and I have four words for you

Prince of Darkness Match...I could mention plenty of other ones from the past 6 months, including horrible writing and ZERO wrestling...but I won't.

It used to be great...now it is just WWE lite.

Wrestling's been dying a slow death since WCW. Whether they actually had the best in ring workers or not, it was the most enjoyably entertaining product put out since. The Outsiders, when Raven was at his "coolest", DDP. With Scott Hall surely bloated and drunk, Kevin Nash with gray hair, DDP retired, and Raven being rejected to his gimmick of the month in TNA, wrestling just isn't what it was. I haven't bothered caring in about two years probably.

I agree 100%. I know, like me, you too have worked in the indies. I like TNA ALOT more than anything McMahon has to offer because it reminds me of the "up close & personal" feel that I got when I wrestled in the indies. McMahon's product, to me, has always been hokey. Yes, he and Hogan helped put wrestling "on the map", but what Vince created, he also helped destroy.

I never saw the 'prince of darkness match'. So, I can't comment. I know that I have not seen Russo or any of his family members winning the heavyweight championship.

I know the electrified cage match at Lockdown was a crime against humanity.

I prefer the athleticism of guys like AJ Styles, Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin to the "wrestling" of Chris Masters, Bobby Lashley, the Miz, Nitro, Eugene, etc.

JMHO - the TNA undercard is WAY more entertaining than the WWE undercard.

Lately, I've simply been watching old WWF, NWA, and some World Class stuff online. Usually open 3 browsers at a time, so two can load while I'm watching one. Have seen some good stuff from back in the day. Road Warriors & Dusty vs. Nikita, Ivan, and Killer Kruschev (Smash); Magnum vs. Nikita, R & R Express vs. Midnight, Steamboat vs. Savage, Flair vs. Hawk, etc. If you want a laugh, type in Iron Sheik and hear some of his comments on B. Brian Blair. Also in the midst of reading the Flair autobiography, which has some classic stories in it. Some good old stories about Roddy Piper in there.

Classic...

I have the AWA, Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, and Superstars of the 80s DVDs. There are a lot of good matches on those DVDs.

I have seen the Sheik shoot interview. GREAT stuff. I watched a Barry Windham/Mike Rotunda tag match on youtube last week. I just wish I could save that stuff to my computer.

There is a way...might require a separate "How to save a youtube video onto computer" post and get some help from more computer literate dawgtalkers, but I know there is a way...something involving a third site I think.

I have that AWA DVD still in wrap. Waiting!for the summer when TV seems to slow down to pop it in and watch it.

The AWA DVD is good - but, Vince pops his head in every few minutes to explain how he is a good guy and in no way is responsible for AWA going out of business.

Ammo, I applaud you, that sums it all up.

I do watch some stuff on line about TNA, ROH, Japan, and even the older WCW/NWA stuff. If you miss a month of Vince's programing anymore, you don't miss much.

ROH's stauts is what ECW was when they first started, the underground cult promotion that attracts a loyal fan base through it's product. ROH won't be "major league" until they can get syndication, or a cable T.V. deal to compete with Vince and TNA.

Top 9 most dumb moments in wresting. This would've been cool if the youtube vids actually worked in the link. Nevertheless, this guy does a very good job nailing them all, and giving a brief refresher.

#9 I actually still have it on tape. I have the whole Clash of Champions (the last match of the Hollywood Blondes too) that happened on.

#8 The Red Rooster... you wonder how much Vince paid him to go along with this stupid gimmick. It's a little bit worse than the Polka Dots Dusty had to wear.

#7 The matches stunk and the feud was mercifly killed.

#6. Giant Gonzales... Vince is trying this again, he renamed him Giant Kahli. When you realized he couldn't speak English you realized he was one of those people who would be kept around simply because of his size.

#5 Robocop... who thought that up? That was easily the worst moment I've ever seen in wrestling.

#4. Thankfully I never had to watch this or hear it. Muraco couldn't talk, and Fuji it was obvious.

#3. Can't remember which Guerrerro this was but it just reminds you this wasn't the first time they sacrificed their name and legacy for money.

#2. The videos weren't all that bad, a little over the top but they weren't that bad. The match was good even if the end was a little bit screwy.

#1. How was this the worst? It was after all WCW/Time Warner, it's not like they could have done anything serious/too deep with it.

Agreed, Shockmaster and Robocop were 2 of the dumbest things I've ever seen, got to wonder what somebody was smokin when they thought up those ideas. Plus, the Gobblygooker was no prize winner either, just as dumb as anything else. What the hell was Vince thinking?

If you don't enjoy Vince McMahon heeling it up, and generally behaving like a pro wres version of Caligula or Pope Alexander VI, you should just stop watching wrestling alltogether. The man is easily the most entertaining perfomer in wrestling today, and easily in the top 10 of all time wrestling characters. Any whining about him "overexposing" himself is nonsense, if anything I'd enjoy WWE programming more if he was commanding a huge heel stable again and running roughshod over all three brands, sexually harassing divas and portraying a power-drunk despot that's not too far away from the real Vince. There'd be big money in Vince as quasi-Emperor of all of the WWE getting his comeuppance from a rag-tag coalition of faces banding together to take him down and end his reign of terror.

Also, he's the best ECW Champion EVER. People need to stop crying about him being ECW Champion and romanticizing about a belt that was never that meaningful in the first place, even before the brand was relaunched. I mean, for crying out loud, he's worlds better than Shane Douglas ever was. And better than clowns like Justin Credible. If anything, I think they should retool ECW to be half wrestling show and half reality program where you get to see Vince cutting coked up heel promos on Samoa Joe in the writer's room and stuff. It'd be glorious.

TNA has some great undercard guys but the way some of those guys are being used and the whole presentation of the program is so bush league. I watch WWE a few times a month but can't watch TNA barely at all. They have potential breakout stars like Samoa Joe and Alex SHelley. Those guys could be huge. But they are not building them up at all and giving them any purpose. They have more charisma and can go in the ring better than most of the roster. There mainevent scene is pathetic. WHo cares about Sting. I really used to like Angle but he is now more irrelevant than ever. Christian is pretty funny I will give them that. Abyss is trash and bush league. And you always have the possiblity of Jarrett creeping back into the mainevent picture. The midcard is full of rejects or dorky characters. Eric Young is lame. That Macho Man impersonater is pathetic. It probably would be better if that guy stop being the Macho Man and started to be himslef. Then rejects like The Dudleys and Billy Gunn and the Road Dogg. Those guys suck.

The announcers are beyond horrible. With there over the top screaming all of the time and there dorky lame facial expressions. The whole presentation from the music and the production is light years behind WWE. Not to mention the writing is crap.

I really wish Samoa Joe, Alex Shelley, and LAX, would jump to WWE when there contracts are up. They would be more over than they are now and have a chance to be big stars. They may have to be in the undercard for awhile but they would be better off.

While I will grant you the WWE presentation is far smoother... I would cry is any of those guys jumped to WWE.

Rob Van Damm was awesome in ECW. His push in WWE has been nothing short of sad. Tajiri was phenom in ECW. In WWE, he was nothing more than a jobber. The list could go on and on.

Cruiserweights (Shelley) get no push. Joe doesn't have the roided out look that Vince wants. The only reason for Shelley or Joe to jump is for $$$. Because, their individual highlights would come to an end.
