I mean...........WAY OFF BASE!!!

Well why don't you explain it to us? you're a teacher.

I am not going to go into detail right now, because almost all of you will ignore it or turn it into yet another stupid ass attack, but I will say this:

I worked in an alternative school in E. Cleveland for awhile. My teacher aide's husband was the principal of an E. Cleveland school. I had two children of my own in a very affluent school at the same time.

The amount of money given to the schools in E. Cleveland was far, far, far greater than the amount of money my children's school received from the government. Our E. Cleveland schools had it all. Each child had their own laptop. We had two computer rooms. We had books and teaching tools coming out of our behinds. We had so many tools to work with. Far, far more than what my own children had in their school.

There is an old discussion that relates to this topic. It's called Equality vs. Equity. You should research it. You are a smart guy and you are interested in politically sensitive subjects. It will help you understand WHY the lower socioeconomic schools actually receive far more monies than the affluent schools.

Wait........I think I need to add this. I am talking in monies from the government and not from organizations like the PTO.

I have a unique perspective because my dad was 54 when I was born

He road a horse to school

Technology wise, We build on the things that were done before us. That makes things easier and faster. Back then it took a lot longer to do things that we take for granted. Laundry was an all day event and cars required constant upkeep. My dad became a mechanic by necessity. Now, a friend of mine had to teach a teenager how to fill the car up.

On the other hand people still have emotional growth to go through and the ability to have constant communication is a blessing and a detriment. A lot of trouble can be found in a couple of hours.

Times change, but people don't really change, just adapt.

Welcome back, Joe, we missed you!
