This thread is stemming off comments made in another and this topic was pretty OT from that one. I thought it might be a fun exercise to throw out there.. and if its not a popular thread.. well, at least no trees or small animals were harmed.

This is one of those "Hello my name is... and I like..." type exercises you come across in group trainings. Personally I had never heard of this one before. Basically one by one, everyone takes a turn and presents 4 facts to the group... 3 are true, 1 is a lie. The group tries to figure out which is the lie. This is the kind of thing where you might not be friends with someone, but have known them for a long time and find yourself surprised.

My 4 facts are:

1) I was born on the side of the road in a Jeep

2) While in middle school I used to write television show reviews for the city newspaper

3) I once cooked chicken wings with Handford Dixon at a BW3's in Boardman, OH

4) I once rubbed elbows with Benjamin Netanyahu at bar.

Who else has done what?

1) I ran a 4.3 40 in track during high school

As I got older:
1) I've owned numerous businesses (business ventures), some were lucrative, some not so much.
2) I tend to chase knowledge more than money these days.
3) I care too much about what others think of me.

No you are wrong on mine... as a matter of fact the guitarist and main man from that band lives in Ytown, close to Cornersburg IIRC... his name is Mark and is missing three fingers on his left hand.

So my lies were:

2) Hitchhiking: I did make that trip, but it took a little longer than that, so only part truth.

and

3) I have never really cared about what anybody thinks of me except my parents. They were/are my moral compass.

The rest is 100% truth. I grew up during and at the end of the "Sex, Drugs and Rock-n-Roll era", so yes I partied like a rockstar.

"2. I have no sense of smell." Is actually true.. I haven't had a sense of smell as long as I've been aware.. I even remember being really young on the school bus and pretending I smelled a skunk cause I didn't want to be "weird"

The interesting part was when I was 18, and was considering joining the Marines, everything was going great, until they gave me a questionnaire, and one of the questions had to do with smell..

I told them I couldn't, and they asked if I could taste, and I can.. and they replied with an attitude and "Well then you should be able to smell.."

I consider it my super power.. My farts never stink!

The non truth was being an extra in Spider Man 3. While I was walking through Cleveland (Draft Party) while they were setting up a scene, I decided against hanging around to possibly get in a scene that maybe got in the film..

My #2 is actually .....true. I was on TV a lot when I ran Dominos Pizza stores, and we did the telethons. I was usually the guy who got stuck doing the interviews, and also had to talk to the news people are such.

My lie is.....well .... I really only kept my Mom in labor for 35 hours, not 42.

That really is the difference between women and men though. A man would go through that once and say "Fix me. That's it! I'm done!" A woman is like, "That really hurt and I don ...Oh look at the baby! Oh, let's have another ..... " lol
