In my opinion the strength of this draft is in its receivers. I feel we will have 10 taken in the top 50 picks. I would love to get 1 if not 2 of those receivers. Compared to where last years group was at heading into the combines, I have this years receivers with a slightlyhigher grade overall and last year was a phenomenal class.

I think Parker, White and Cooper are top 5 players in this draft. If either is there at 12 we gotta jump on it.

Tier 1 top 10 prosects Parker, White and Cooper
Tier 2 11-25 Beckham (issues), coates, funchess and Strong grade
tier 3 26-50 Breshad Perriman, Devin smith, agholor, Rashad Greene, Harper

Others will rise some will fall but I really like this group. I hate this draft but i love the receivers.

Kevin White is the guy I want. Guy plays extremely physical.

I agree. I think this group is every bit as good and as deep as last season.

White, Cooper, and Parker all solidified their selves as top WR for the draft. But players like Strong and Conley made a case to be mid to late first with their showings of size and speed.

I also like Devin Smith as a deep threat that can really stretch a defense with not only speed but ball skills. He will be missed much more at OSU than some think.

I would say though if I was after a WR 1st or 2nd round I would not touch Coates. He does not catch the ball clean with no defenders. I think he has bust written all over him. I would also not touch Funchess as a WR. A 2nd round TE maybe? But as a WR? No!

That is freakish. that is enough probably to send him to the Raiders at 5. Parker is my favorite out of the group and most likely to slide to us at 12. I like cooper, i think he is a slightly better version of Sammy Watkins. Parker I think is a less physical version of Mike Evans. White, little more like Mr. Catch lol.

White is a freak and a natural ball catcher, I didn't watch any WVU games this year but just from watching him at the combine he looked smooth in/out of breaks and 4.35 is crazy for his size. I think White and Cooper are ahead of the pack, I wasn't too impressed with Parker honestly. If Parker was there at 19 then maybe but I think the better value would be Strong in the 2nd or the USC kid or Devon Smith in the 3rd that is if they last that long.

If for some reason White is there at 12 he has to be the pick for the Browns or at least I would think. I would love to see them draft White and then double up with D. Smith or someone else in the 3rd. That is if they don't trade away those picks to move up and take one of the top two QBs.

Parker on game tape looks good.

He was disappointing at the combine. He didn't go all out in the drills and he appeared stiff catching the ball. His speed was ok.

But I am a firm believer in game tape. So at this point I rank him third.

White looks great period. Great tape. Super intense. Plays mean and fast. Love the guy. Blazing speed.

Cooper is a pure receiver in the vein of AJ Green. Good route runner. Natural catching the ball.

White and Cooper are neck and neck but I would take White if it came to taking one.

There is always a rush on WRs in round 1 and the top half of round 2...And you have top 3 guys whom all could go in the top 15 (White, Cooper, Parker) I cant really define it, but something about White makes me wonder (in a bad way) Cooper is very good in all area, elite in some, very well rounded...But like Mayock said his ceiling isn't as high as a Parker or White...I like Parker a lot and hope he makes it to our 1b. pick...

But with so many other needs, trust me I believe WR is a dire need as well...I wouldn't be surprised if we are looking at maybe the 2nd or 3rd bunch of WRS more intently, as Farmer went on to say he doesn't value the WR need as perhaps say 0line or Dline early in the draft...then again it may be a smoke screen...

Out of the 2nd bunch I really love Jaelen Strong WR from Arizona State (6'2 and a half, 217) Josh Gordon esque size...ran fast at the combine...Ive been pimping the guy since October (saw a lot of his games as Arizona State games are always on late over here) The guy can just pluck the ball out of nowhere, really big strong body with very strong striking hands...I think his ceiling is as high as Cooper or even White..

With Frunchess from Michigan I don't really like anything about him, even him being more projected...he will be over drafted and has a high bust rate as he was horrible hands (just like Sammie Coates) has stiff hips, plays with poor leverage when blocking, is very weak at blocking...definitely a project whom doesn't belong in the 1st round...But like teams always do they will take their pet projects whom they believe they can groom into a star...it rarely works that way...Frunchess has much better value in perhaps round 3-4...But someone will overdraft him...I like TE Jean Sifrin (an expected 5-7 round pick) better than Frunchess

I like WR Devin Smith, pure speed along with good size...however I think hes very raw when it comes to the NFL tree route (but that can be said for a lot of young guys) he also seems to be a natural hands catcher...

Ty Montgomery from Stanford could be someone to key on (was supposed to be 6'2...measure slightly taller than 5'11) was supposed to be a 4.4 guy easy...ran 4.50 flat I believe...which kind of disappointing...But his hands are massive, he excels in the return game, and coach Shaw claims he's the strongest locker room players hes ever had...could slip easily into our late round4 or even 5th round pick...His hands aren't the best however I think his ND game he had 3 drops...

I knew WR Josh Davis wasn't a blazer...he measured lighter than expected and ran a poor 40...however I like him as a round 5-6 guy

White looked exceptional in drills today. This only supports his game performance. Parker looked out of sorts in some way today. But like you I rely on the tape. He should be a solid pro.

I was more intrigued with some of the mid-to-late round guys. One that I think may have improved his stock is Ty Montgomery. There had been some knocks on him following the Shrine Game, I think.Vince Mayle looked decent but not spectacular. Lockett looked very good in drills but we have Gabriel. McBride was solid too. The guy who is getting me excited is Darren Waller. He has a chance to be a real red zone threat. He needs development but 6'6", 238 LBS and 4.46 forty there is something there to develop. I'd take him in the 6th for sure.

If we don't walk out of the first round with one of these 3, I'll be highly disappointed. I was last year after we had Watkins in our reach with WR as a need; I pray that Farmer does not repeat.

White looked awesome. he looks flat out ferocious and built like a tank for a WR. I'd love to have him or cooper but I think both will be gone a long time before we can get them. I also don't mind Danny Shelton the RT at number 12 either.

I haven't been studying the draft. I don't like this draft. Reminds me of the Mingo draft. Not that bad.....but bad.

But, you are right in that there are some good WRs in this class. You made me start looking at them w/your post. I even watched the Combine today.

I will say that I don't think it is "significantly" better than last year's class, because last year's class was outstanding. There were several rookie WRs who made huge impacts. Of course, we chose to ignore the position because our freaking GM is a hard head.

Anyway.........I do agree w/you that this is a very good group of WRs.

White is freakish. Cooper is smooth. I don't know much about Parker. That dude for Auburn interested me. He catches the ball high. Also, the guy from Arizona State showed me some stuff.

I dont like this draft, I just dont see a lot of impact players in it at all.

RB? decent group
OT? pretty good but I dont see anything special in this group No one i wuld have taken top 20 in last years class.
Interior OL? poor
QB? sucks
TE? sucks other than Maxx Williams there isnt much
WR? Stud class
DL Solid but again not special outside of Williams
linebackers? decent group but nothing there wows me either
Corner? maybe the worst corner class I have ever seen
Safety? the worst safety class I have ever seen

It is why I would strongly consider taking a FB in the 3rd.
I would probably try to trade up to get one of those receivers and use the rest of my picks to trade for next years draft which will be superior to this one. I wouldnt mind if 12, 19 and our 2nd produced us 2 receivers and Maxx

Parker looks pretty good. Made a lot of plays, but man.......did you see who was throwing him the ball and where the ball was placed.

And we passed on that guy?

I like Cooper more and more. I thought it was hype, but the kid is very steady. Very smooth. Great competitor. Seems like a good kid. He outworks other players. Worth considering at 12.

Alright, I love White!

I love how he catches the ball at the high point. I love how he runs after the catch. I love how explosive he is. He is a difference maker. He just won't be there when we draft.

Versatile, there is a strong chance the Titans take Amari at number 2. There is no way he lasts to 12.

Of course I would love to get Cooper, but there is no way without giving up an arm and a leg.

Nobody goes up and gets the ball at the peak like Parker. Vers, he actually improved his yards per game significantly this year.

*edit -- one other thing I wanted to mention about Parker is that he catches the ball the right way... puts his hands out with thumbs together. None of that underhanded garbage so many receivers who have problems with drops do.*

I'm a little worried about White. He had one of the best passers in college football in one of the most productive college offense programs in the country. He had a huge delta this year with Trickett and wasn't that productive when Trickett went out. I'm not saying he's bad, I'm just worried about it.

Four guys I really like for a WCO-based offense after the first round are (in order) Nelson Agholor (best run after catch in the draft), Rashad Greene (best route runner), Antwan Goodley (very physical and fast), and Justin Hardy (great concentration in traffic and historically productive with a mediocre QB.). JMO.

Mourg, a couple places I disagree with your comments...

RB this class is not decent, it is LOADED. Funny, last year we picked up two RBs when the WR class is amazing and this year we'll probably grab two WRs when the RB class is ridiculous. CBS last time I checked had Josh Robinson as the 19th(!) best RB in the class. There are three guys who are head and shoulders above anyone in last class in Gordon, Johnson, and Gurley and a handful of others who might be better, too.

TE I think Walford is good. Check him out against Nebraska. Also, there's a non-combine participant I like in Utah's Westlee Tonga as well. He was underemphasized in college but watch Utah vs. USC and you can see the real potential he has. O'Leary reminds me a lot of Dallas Clark.

I agree with you when it comes to 3-4 OLBs, but the ILB candidates are very strong at the top. McKinney, Dawson, and Anthony are really terrific players. Outstanding. It's crazy how Kendricks is only the 4th-best ILB in this class when he's probably only a shade behind Mosley last year.

Other than those positions, I agree with you.

Well pettiner says he wants some playmakers. This is a great draft to go and get one.

I think that is a very good possibility. In a mock I did a few days ago I had White going to Oakland at 4, Cooper going to the Titans (in a trade with the Jets) at 6, and Parker going to the Vikes at 11.

The good news if all 3 are taken before the Browns select then that means one of the pass rushers more than likely falls to the Browns at 12. There will still be players like Strong there at 19 to fill the WR.

At 12 we should be able to get a very good player that fills one of our needs. We just have to make the right pick. Easier said than done with our history.

I watched much of the receivers combine. I liked a lot of them but I am not sure the need is as high for the Browns as other aspects of the team (DL, I love the guy from Washington) and OL (I like the guy from Iowa). I am not sure how deep the draft will be for receivers. Will some of the players fall as far as some here predict? I am not sure.

If you are sure of a quality receiver in rounds 2 and 3, I think the need for a TE is as important as a receiver so I am not sure I use the #12 pick on either of the receivers.

I remember you liking Kevin White early on as well. I liked him also.

Alas...me liking a WR early means one thing. We won't have a chance at picking him. As in long gone!

Heck I remember a lot of the early Mocks had us taking him at pick #19.

I don't like settling. As in we have to get a WR any that are considered good. I liked Kevin White was hoping we would get him...still do but as usual the guy I like early on either moves up the ladder or down...lol laugh

We don't need no stinkin receivers.

We can get receives out of the day labor bins.

They only touch the ball 6-8 times a games.

They have nothing to do with the end zone.

One concern I have with Kevin White is CBs he faced. Being from the Big 12 he hasn't had to face much competition. His numbers were low against TCU, a top 15 defense. I don't know much of anything about TCU's defense. I believe the three best CB's out of the Big 12 are Quandre Diggs (UT), Zack Sanchez (OU), and Kevin White (TCU). Ever since Big 12 begin losing schools I question the quality of talent.
