The loss of the deep ball is due to the increase in blitz pressure over the last 10 years. Holding the ball long enough to throw it deep often gets your QB killed even if you have a great offensive line. Many colleges don't have a good offensive line.
I don't really care about the deep ball myself. If you can complete 50% of your passes for 5 yards a pass then IMHO pass it all day long. Although I would probably go with 6-7 yard passes to draw pass interference penalties and get free downs. My idea of a long pass is 15 yards. I want the ball out quick and I want WR that are great at catching it with their hands and not their body.
You can't fix stupid but you can destroy ignorance. When you destroy ignorance you remove the justifications for evil. If you want to destroy evil then educate our people. Hate is a tool of the stupid to deal with what they can't understand.

Interesting tidbit. Hartline's previous contract was 5 years, $30.8 million, $12.5 million guaranteed. He was set to have a $5.9 million salary this year for a total cap hit of $7.35 million. The Dolphins are eating $4.2 million in dead cap to cut him this offseason. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cleveland-browns/brian-hartline/

In think that Hoyer threw down the field more than Tannehill did. Tannehill threw a ton of really short passes, where Hoyer had more passes, even in fewer attempts, in the intermediate to deeper throws.(as far as throws in the air) Y'all give me a headache w/your biased posting. What's really funny though is how you guys rip reporters for being bozos and biased. Did you ever watch any of Hoyer's deep passes? Ever? You think he throws the deep ball better than Tannehill? Pffttttttt.......give me a break. Those numbers are for one reason only............scheme. You simply don't want to admit it because than it would force you to be objective, and it isn't possible for guys like you to objective in the Regime Wars battle.

I think Tannehill is better than Hoyer, but last year is the first year I would have said that.
Tannehill had a nice year overall after a rocky start. Will be interesting to see if he can continue that.

I am not even arguing who is better, Rish. I just said that his deep ball is better than Hoyer's.
Look, I like Hoyer. I wish we would have kept him over both JM's, but his deep ball was terrible. We had so many receivers wide open deep and the ball just hung up there like a freaking punt.
Are people really forgetting that?

I agree with all of that. Never seen a worse deep ball thrower ever.

Jordan Cameron: Playing with Tannehill a “big part” of decision Posted by Josh Alper on March 13, 2015, 7:02 AM EDT Ik Enemkpali, Ryan Tannehill, Jason Fox AP Tight end Jordan Cameron appeared to be headed back to Cleveland on Thursday afternoon right up until the moment things took a sharp turn in Miami’s direction. His reported two-year, $15 million deal with the Browns became a two-year, $15 million deal with the Dolphins instead in a change of course that feels like par for the course as the league seems to be specializing in curverballs and changes of heart this offseason. Cameron spoke to his new team’s website after reaching agreement on the deal and said that the presence of quarterback Ryan Tannehill helped sway him. “He’s young, he’s willing to work and he puts the hours in. They were singing his praises today. It was definitely a big part of my decision,” Cameron said. There were surely other reasons, the lack of state income tax and a warmer climate come to mind, but the certainty at quarterback in Miami has obvious appeal when compared to both the current Josh McCown/Johnny Manziel situation in Cleveland and the overall lack of direction at the position that Cameron has dealt with during his Browns career. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/201...partner=ya5nbcs

good question, tannehill threw his passes out of bounds but they were within a yard or two, Hoyer put it inbounds but overthrew or underthrew by 10 yards.

... I'll still be rooting for them on Sunday's...I've tried to quit, leave, find another team, just can't. Bad habit I guess... Same here: it's a genetic disorder, I was born in NE Ohio in 1958, back when they had a real team. Somewhere deep in my DNA I still think they can win a championship.

Do we, like, umm, have a QB to throw him the ball yet??
I'm guessing Johnny Money, er Football, is our starter if he gets out of rehab in time for training camp?
Though I really would love to see Johnny come out runnin' and gunnin' 30 TDs next year, if he does a Brandon Weeden Year Two, then McCown takes over?
I'll keep trying my Bears fan friends to see if one of them has an old McCown jersey I can tape a Browns logo on for the year, but so far none of them seemed to buy a McCown jersey when he was with them.

You know what .... I'm not even going to bother replying to you anymore. You're not a poster, you are an argument who is looking for something to twist into something the other person never said.
Good luck to you. I wish you well, and hope that whatever problems cause you to take this kind of approach to posting on the message boards can be rectified.

I am not sure why it is okay to make fun of someone who is in rehab.
Make fun of Manziel because he sucked at football last year. Do not make fun of him because he has a life-threatening problem that he is trying fix.
