We can still salvage this free agency period if we could land Dwayne Bowe, Perrish Cox and either Jermaine Gresham or Charles Clay.

Personally I'm hoping we can land Bowe & Clay.

Those two instantly make our skill players not look so bad...

Still not great, but a step up from last year (as Cameron missed most of last year anyway).

Charles Clay still available at TE, although he has a transition tag @ $7M.

I'd be happy about:

DL: Fairley, Ellis, *Big Snacks (even giving up the second... he's better than any nose tackle we could get at 12 anyways)
WR: *Bowe, *S. Johnson, maybe Britt
RB: *R. Bush (our OC says he wants to throw to RBs a lot)

* indicates no impact on compensatory pick balance.

Charles Clay would be an ideal fit for this team. He's built like a TE but runs like an RB. He's a young, and very tough dude. I would gladly offer him a long term deal for very generous money. KFFL reported he visited Cleveland yesterday (or is set to today); they also stated the Browns were looking at Stevie Johnson and Dwayne Bowe.

Again, crossing my fingers for Bowe & Clay. fingerscrossed

I'm also curious to know if we've contacted Cecil Shorts III.

A few weeks ago it was reported their was mutual interest.

Signing Bowe, Clay AND Shorts III would actually give us a pretty respectable group of skill players.

Allows us to sure up the DL and OL early in the draft as well....

I thought it meant we had to top their offer. Am I wrong about that? +$7M seems like a high price for Clay.

I really don't want Clay. Miami could conceivably match, and if Clay signs with the Browns, the impact would be similar to trading Cameron plus a draft pick to the Dolphins for Clay. I can almost hear Grossi now ... saywhat

How would it involve a draft pick? That's not part of the equation.

Clay has a franchise tag. I'm not saying that Miami would match, but as of yet, they have not removed Clay's tag.

No, he has a transition tag, simply meaning the Dolphins can match any offer made to him, kind of like what we did with Mack last year. We don't have to fork over a draft pick to get him.

Clay would be an upgrade over Cameron because he can block, and he's a much better running. Cameron is just bigger.

Cowboys DeMarcus Murray replacement, Darren McFadden. Wow have they taken many steps backward at rb position.

McFadden went to Arkansas
Jerry Jones went to Arkansas

Jerry Jones likes McFadden.

McFadden has shown he can be productive when healthy.

The Cowboys have the best offensive line in football.

This has come back player of the year written all over it.

IF McFadden stays healthy.

#Rams signed DT Nick Fairley on a 1-year deal worth $5M base, source said. He can make up to $7.5M in incentives. A prove-it deal.

Reading the (lack) of information, it seems that we lost Austin when he stayed at that hospital in Buffalo.

I don't know about you guys, but I haven't heard zip about the guy since that Buffalo game (he got hospitalized with a kidney issue from a hit, and stayed in the hospital long after the team flew back to Cleveland.

Yeah after Austin got hurt I forgot all about him

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Source: The # Saints are in the process of trading WR Kenny Stills to the Miami # Dolphins.

Seems like we're the least active team on all fronts right now

Pittsburgh and us

Can someone shed some light on what the Saints are trying to accomplish?

It looks like a teardown / rebuild to me. I'm starting to think Brees might really be available.

Perrish Cox

2014 Grade: +1.2

2014 Snaps: 965

Cox has always been a beguiling talent. He’s long enough, athletic enough and skilled enough to be one of the better corners in the league, but has struggled to convert that natural talent into playing time and production. Of his five seasons as a pro, Cox has been a significant contributor for just two of them, the first as a rookie with the Broncos in 2010, and then this past year in San Francisco. Between those two seasons, Cox bounced between teams and made little impact.

Cox began 2014 in good form, he was our seventh ranked cover corner after nine weeks, allowing a 48.9% completion rate, and holding passers to a 42.3 QB rating. However he struggled down the stretch, with those figures rising to 61.5% and 78.0, respectively. He’s shown enough to merit starting somewhere in 2015, but not enough to warrant a true starters contract.

Sounds like a more inconsistent version of Skrine

So they've accumulated two firsts, one second, and two thirds?

Brees' eventual replacement?

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Miles Austin hopes to return to Cleveland next season

Nearly two weeks removed from a scary lacerated kidney injury, Austin has returned to the facility to attend practice and be a part of meetings.
“I’m more or less here for support,” said the 30-year-old Austin, who chooses to be in the building even though it’s not required. “It’s good to be around and still be able to help the guys however I can.”

Skrine had a negative rating with Pro Football Focus. So going be their standards, which I trust, Cox was better than Skrine last year.

Harvin to the Bills

Bills are going all in. Too bad their coach is Rex Ryan and their QB is Matt Cassell.
