Quinn and Thomas pre-orders are already there, I'm surprised how fast they came out considering it took forever for the Wimbley jerseys to come out. I'm quite fond of this t-shirt, too. http://www.clevelandbrownsteamshop.com/product.php?productid=17172&cat=348&page=1(Note: merge this with the jersey thread if you need to, I wasn't sure if this required its own thread or not because of the fact that the subject of that topic was about the clearance sales)

Any official word yet on Thomas' number? If you pre order they're not going to send you a #1 jersey are they??

I would assume they'll wait till he gets an official number before they start sending them out. Actually, after I thought about it, I'll wait till the preseason to get one.. because wasn't Kellen Winslow #11 to start out?

I never understood the fascination with buying jerseys. Unless you happen to find the guy that is a pro bowler AND stays with the Browns, seems like a waste of money. How many here own Frye jerseys? Get ready to turn those into rags real soon! How about Couch jerseys? Only use I see for them is to cover the C and have an OUCH jersey. That's kinda funny.
So many jerseys and so many wasted dollars. Other than getting a Brown, Newsome, Kosar, etc. jersey, you're bound to end up turning that jersey into a rag or be one of those people walking around with a Couch jersey... why would you do that?

Well, I get your argument if you can't really afford to buy a new jersey every 2-4 years. But, if you can afford to buy a new one every 2-4 years, then it is nice to have a jersey of one of our current players.

Avoid all that and buy a personalized jersey.

It's not about affording it...it's about it being a waste of money. Big difference. I prefer personalized or past great players.

Well, the best bet would be the personalized jersey's, but I like to collect Browns jersey's too. I try to buy about 2 a year.

I never saw a guy who doesn't play on the team anymore as a wasted jersey...I mean, I could understand if the guy went to Pittsburgh or something...but I enjoy seeing the Couchs and the Hoards and the Fryes and the Greens on gameday.

I have Couch, Brown, Warren, Green, Winslow, Edwards, Wimbley, Suggs, Frye, Jones, and Dawson from the new age (I think that's all of them). I plan to add Quinn, Thomas and Wright, too.
From the older days I have Kosar, Brown, Matthews, Sipe, and Hickerson. I'll probably add a few more of these too.

Thats what I do. All my jersey's have my name on them. I will ALWAYS be a Browns fan, players will not always be Browns. However past great players I would consider as well.

I cannot afford a good authentic jersey. I do have an old mockup that says Mathews on the back. I woud like to replace it with a real one or maybe even Perry, Slaughter, Brennan,etc...... Geez make a guy go broke.
Einstein could not even fathom the mathematical improbabilities of the Browns woes.

If you decide to go "authentic"... do a search online for discount codes or coupon codes. The just bought a personalized authentic browns jersey from NFL.com for $168 inluding shpping.

Yup! I have a Brown and White "Punchsmack" jersey. That "player" is always with the Browns.
I do have an Oragne Edwards jersey but I only bought that for Bears games. It looks like I'm kinda rooting for the Bears....but it's really a Browns jersey. Most of the drunks leave me alone.
I also have a Jim Brown and Bernie Kosar "authentic" jersey (from that Korean place on eBay for $20!!!!). Great buy!

If someone wore a personalized jersey around here they'd be made fun of and would never hear the end of it.

I like that first T-Shirt... Here We Go Brownies! I got my Browns cap already, and I'll probably get a personalized HurricaneDawg jersey before my trip.
I want the Cleveland Browns to be my pallbearers so they can let me down for the last time.

My argument said nothing of being able to afford the jerseys. That's not the problem.
The problem is that odds are you are purchasing a jersey that will be a very expensive rag in 2-4 yrs. Even if the player is a hit, the odds of them staying in Cleveland are not good. I'm just going based off history.
I'd much rather spend my 'Browns' money on memorabilia that is fine regardless of who the players are. I have a very large collection of Browns items - clothes, autographs, framed prints, etc. Whether the Browns are 1-15 or 15-1, my stuff is always pretty nice!

I have $60 sweatshirts and sweaters, and I don't wear 'em for 10 years. After I get tired of them or don't like them anymore, they become pretty expensive rags as well.

Yeah, I get your point. I guess for it really to be worth while to buy jersey's you'd have to make a hobby out of it, like I have. If I hadn't gotten into collecting Browns jersey's, I would have probably only gotten one jersey, like a Kosar jersey or something.

That's my jersey!!!! I got a lot of laughs from people behind me at the stadium.
Safest bet, I THINK, would be Joe Thomas' jersey but that isn't a sexy one.
I do feel bad for those investing in Charlie but who knows, like Phil said, you never know what kind of situation this could turn out to be. Maybe he stars and Brady gets traded, who knows.

My jerseys:
-Couch - which was an autographed gift from my uncle and I had it framed, plus this was before Reebok took the monopoly and jacked the prices...still probably worth 2 cents now.
-Green - which I taped over and put "J. Lewis" on the back, I'm not so pissed anymore because now I can get some extra mileage out of it.
-Garcia - Most likely to be a rag candidate, was gonna put "Frye" on the back but he took #9...we all know how that turned out. (Whoops, I said #9's name, but didn't have a choice there)
-Edwards - This one'll be around for awhile I'm guessing, got it for Christmas in '05.
-Kids Winslow - I battled anorexia and was able to fit into a kids XL Winslow jersey, so I bought it for $20 at Marshalls. I got my muscle back and it looks like a t-shirt on me now, gave it to a girl who became a word that rhymes with witch. Trying to get it back from her so I can give it to another girl I'm hot after. Problem is it's huge on girls...I tell them to tie it on the side.
-Sewn Winslow - Not Authentic, but it has the numbers sewed on and is made of better material than the replicas. Got it for $40 at Marshalls since it was an '05 model and I bought it in summer '06. $100 value.
I've yet to buy a full-price jersey. I may have to take the plunge with a Quinn or Wimbley jersey. I was dead set on Wimbley back in winter but now I'm not so sure, since if the QB is good, you HAVE to have his jersey and keep it for years. Like Kosar.
I'm really thinking about taking out the debit card for that "Here we go Brownies, here we go!" shirt.

Nah ...might be worth something in 50 years when people will fondly remember the return of the Browns instead of the 8 year trainwreck that it was.

You suck I actually want to find a signed Couch Kentucky jersey. Wouldn't really go with my collection of Browns jerseys, but it would mean more lol.

Yep, they are cheap, if you don't get the authentics from NFLshop.com, then they run about 200 a pop, but the good news is my number 34, home and away will never go out because I will never be traded, released or cut.

I still need a new jersey in Brown. The only one I had was Couch. I'd like to get a Braylon just because my favorite number is #17. But at the same time, Quinn's would look good as well. I'm not the lineman type, those guys are a lot bigger than me.
