I think it's a safe bet that the Browns won't be signing Mr. Bowe after this ^.

I saw Robinson play in college. WTAMU is a very nice school. Academically they are above average. Basketball is more the game than football but football is making a comeback. The campus is a nice place to live and go to school. A little hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Seeing as you are at a higher elevation that the many smaller mountains. You have to drive down hill all the way to Dallas, 350+ miles away.

Anyone who says bad things about WTAMU or as it was known previously, WTSU has no idea what they are talking about.

Go Buffaloes.

I hope they target Crabtree or Shorts. Crabtree is a legitimate deep threat while Shorts is just a solid guy with great hands.

Watch it. Crabtree is from Texas Tech. A little too close to WTAMU. I saw him play as well. Go Buffaloes. tongue

Holy blast from the past.

Thompson was super legit on Madden back in the day. He had to be one of the fastest linebackers on the game.

Oh dude totally. CT was my favorite guy to play on the D when using hte Browns. I use to play him in I think 2005 or 2006 Madden, whichever of those two the Hit Stick was introduced - and destroy people with Thompson!!!!!!!!

Yes, 2006 was the last year I played Madden. Thompson, Andra Davis, with Sean Jones at safety. Fun times.

I'm not 100% sure how Thompson got into this thread .... but I will say that no one was faster at running himself out of a play than Thompson was. He had great size and just incredible speed, and zero football instincts. He was supposed to be a dedicated kid, but sometiems that just isn't enough.

I wouldn't mind Dwayne Bowe as a 1 or 2 year rental.

I haven't heard any news recently regarding Charles Clay or Cecil Shorts, I would much rather sign those two as they're younger and could grow with the team long term.

He put too much stock in relying on Gordon, I pray the man does not make the same mistake twice. Worst case, address or move up to acquire one of the big three WR in the draft, then if they produce on game days, shop the living Hell outta Josh. Let another team deal with his issue(s) and etc.

I don't believe any of us can really get a feel of how Farmer will address the WR position in the draft based off of the single draft he has done thus far.

However, based on his comments regarding the WR position, I would be mildly surprised if he invests highly in the draft at the position. We did see how he relied on Hawkins, Austin and UDFA last year and I'm not so sure he was disappointed in the results.

Only time will tell.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Also, no guarantee that Cooper, White or Parker will still be on the board at #12....

Signing Bowe, and then grabbing a WR in the 2nd or 3rd round might be a realistic scenario at play.

We also need to add a NT, Pass rusher and HOPEFULLY a RT somewhere as well....(not to mention a QB).

I wonder why we haven't pursued TE Clay as hard anymore.. He's a terrific TE, and I wouldn't imagine him still being available... He would be a nice big weapon who can also play H-back in a pinch and change the look...I'm hoping we can still find a way to fight the Bills from him...

There's still TE Gresham and Zach Miller (Whom I haven't heard anything from as I believe he's recovering from injury still)

The Dolphins can match any deal. We might as well wait it out and sign the guys we want, then put the work in and make Clay an offer. Similar to how the Mack deal played out last year. My guess is if the Dolphins want to keep Clay, they will match any offer. That is a lot of work on a guy that probably won't ever play for you.

The holding pattern continues in the Buffalo Bills' efforts to acquire tight end Charles Clay, who continues to carry the transition tag the Miami Dolphins applied to him.

A source close to the situation insisted Monday that, despite the inactivity since Clay's visit to Western New York last week, the Bills' interest in him has not wavered, and they are going to follow through with plans to sign him to an offer sheet.

The source put the Bills' chance of landing Clay at "90 percent."

New Bills coach Rex Ryan has been the driving force in the Bills' pursuit of Clay, the source said. Ryan knows the challenges Clay presented when he was coach of the New York Jets during the multiple times they faced him from 2011 to 2014. Clay has 17 career receptions against the Jets for 169 yards and two touchdowns.

What's the holdup in the Bills making the offer?

The same as it has been since Clay first became a Bills target last week. The Bills apparently are still studying their own cap numbers and those of the Dolphins to put them in the best possible position of making an offer Miami wouldn't match.

And sccording to some reports, the Bills may be driving the market in a direction we don't want to go. It sounds like the Bills want Clay pretty badly and will offer a contract that makes the Fins think twice. We may just not want to pay that much.

Well, makes him a lock, then. Seriously hope we avoid more of this. Thought we were chasing him hard, but not sure as to why.

According to an article (can't remember which one!) that I read very recently, there is a 90% probability that Clay will sign with the Bills. The delay seems to be Buffalo examining both their and Miami's cap space so that indeed, Miami would be in a tough position to match...

Tony Grossi seems to think it is merely a matter of time before Bowe signs here....not sure I like this signing but it's not like we're inundated with WRs here.

He visited Saturday.

I'm curious as to what the holdup is.

I can't imagine Bowe has huge financial demand being an 8-year veteran.

My understanding is his visit started Saturday and went into Sunday. Either or, it went from media pretty much making it seem like the deal was seconds away from finalizing to the sound of crickets.

Won't lose any sleep, even knowing our WR core is not complete, by not acquiring Bowe.

My feeling is the guy still thinks he is one of the best in the NFL and is still hoping for a better offer.

I think Bowe will be a decent fill-in but if it doesn't happen I won't lose sleep over it.

I think our guys proved last year they don't suck even if the national media seems to think we have a glaring weakness at the position. It seems they think Gordon played all of last season and amassed 1400 yards or something.

Either way I think we need to draft someone with some height, but don't think it needs to be in round 1. I'll be happy from rounds 2-4. It's a deep class. We can find a decent redzone target.

* To be clear....I won't be unhappy if a receiver is selected in round 1. I just think we can find a good one in rounds 2-3-4.

Via bleacher report:
Tuesday, March 17
Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported on talks between the Cleveland Browns and Bowe, saying that the two sides "aren't there yet. Get sense they have been off on terms (usually case) but something could develop today."

On March 14, Josina Anderson of ESPN reported that Bowe was in Cleveland on a visit. On March 15, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport added that they brought him in "with the intention of not letting him leave. Big commitment to sign a top WR."

There is no market for these receivers if u cant get him super cheap let him walk. Personally i would rather resign austin or go after crabtree or nicks than sign Bowe anyway.
