Of course it is, but if you're gonna be this bitter about it why are you still here?

I am not telling you how to think? I didn't call you any names, like the OP did to me.

I expressed my opinion. Period. Express yours and don't tell me what to think. I think that the Browns since 1999 have been dreadful. The old Browns are long gone. And even before that, we haven't even appeared in s Super Bowl, never mind won one.

Out side of being able to hold trophies, erect statues and create a circle of honor, which yes is significant, keeping a history is like keeping a cloud.

We went 3 years with no franchise because THAT franchise disappeared from Cleveland for a while. It was gone. What came was an expansion team to play in the same helmets and colors and I understand and accept that many fans see both teams as 1.

IMO it's not and I hope this team gives us some pride soon so that we can realistic compare the historic team with the present replacement team.

It was about men playing the game for a coach defining the game as played and its future, and making stars of elite folks.

I think it is Pluto's book. "When All the World Was Browns Town" covers the stories for part of this. Good read. I found it inspiring.

In all due respect. The real Brown's are now the Ravens. Get over it. So many Brown's fan's from yesteryear are in denial and actually believe these Brown's of today have this storied history in Clev. The Trophies and records are only for those fans that are hanging on by their fingernails of this long lost dream called the Brown's in hope of a SB champ they never got to see with the real Browns before. Sorry it's just a fact. Today's pretend Brown's have nothing to do with the previous storied real Brown's except in name only.

I have to respectfully disagree. Here's why:

1. Take the reverse view for a moment. Cleveland's fans have no more connection to that team than Baltimore has with the Colts. They ceased being the Browns the minute Art Modell signed those papers. The team's address changed. The team's name changed. The team's fan base changed.

2. By the same token, Browns fans accomplished something that has (to my knowledge) never been done before or since: they leveraged the almighty NFL to keep the history- the ENTIRE history (good and bad) of the team for themselves. That's important, because it's directly tied to:

On that day when the Browns finally win it all, the story will have been written from from the team's origins, way back in 1948- tying the Browns' legacy together from no fewer than 4 generations of loyal fans. The Move, The Absence, The Rebirth- ALL of it will matter... and those events of the late '90's will contribute to what might be THE most unique "history" in all of professional sports.

With our history, Browns fans above all others will be able to say that they've EARNED the right to gloat. In my opinion, the story is made much richer because of its longevity... and it will an indescribable pleasure to see the championship story come full-circle.

I don't give a rat's rump about the NFL Championship Game being nicknamed the "Super Bowl" in so-called modern times... the Browns were national champions 4 times over, and runners-up 7 more times. That history belongs to the fans and the city of Cleveland, and is valid until there is no Browns team at all.

Baltimore only ties to the Browns are 1)we both,along with SF were merged from AAFL,2)both had owners move/have team stolen by another city and owners moved at night,3)when Balt given 3rd oportunity as NFL franchise 1953(1950 Balt,1951 Dallas Texans) they raided our coaching staff for a HC-Weeb Eubanks-and used info from PB's draft selection sheet in same order PB had slotted as our selection,4)two more of their HCs were Browns players-John Sandusky,interm one game,and Don Shula. ON your point 2: city of Cleveland was abou to serve litigation papers on NFL suits when they backed off and granted us an expansion team. This team was under NFL "guidance" till the completion of stadium construction and NFL approved ownership granted (Browns Backers and city of Cleveland werenot permitted to bid on ownership to permit GB to have that distinction). NFL supplied employed two(2) persons as scouts during that time for the Cleveland Browns scouting department and they did absolutely nothing but show up to watch stadium construction. I'm damn proud of our 8 "World Championship"s and ready to to add two Super Bowl rings to finish my finger collection then add more for for the toes and thumb my nose at the NFL's bias towards our Cleveland Browns!!!
