Matt Schaub was just cut by the Raiders. We could continue out geezer QB streak and get another one.

Schaub is probably the only QB I would want less than McCown.

I think Sanchez ends up on the raiders before it's over.

I think Sanchez ends up on the raiders before it's over. I doubt it. Reports are floating around that Matt Barely ... err ... Barkley ... can be had for a late round pick. I never liked him, thought that he was vastly overrated by people, and don't want him now. 50 pass attempts, 4 INT and 3 fumbles. (1 lost) I remember when some had him as a top QB in the draft. I never saw it.

He was never the same after his shoulder injury. If he came out a year earlier, He would have been a top 3 pick.

I won't.....this isn't Little League where everybody gets a trophy. Either succeed or you aren't doing you job....period. The difference between "trying" and not trying isn't what separates successful NFL teams....they are ALL trying (except that time we had Kok...lol). The good teams get it done and the bad teams don't period.
i've never doubted that they weren't "trying." I have seriously doubted (and still do) whether they are competent enough or have a plan to actually succeed.
Hope they prove me wrong. So if a guy like Fitz becomes available for a trade.. They should just pay whatever price Arizona wants?

Trent Richardson to the Raiders via NFL.com I hope he's able to turn his career around. Bust or not, I was fuming out the ears the night we traded him, seeing as that 1st round pick turned into Manziel, I still wish we hadn't made the deal

I should have known he'd go to Oakland.
Trent proved that he's a sucker for black holes.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

KFFL.com is reporting from some other sources that the Browns are likely out of the running for TE Charles Clay.
Anyone else hear anything lately?

I assume we will sign Greshem, or one of the other "Recieving" TEs out there to team with Dray and Barnidge..
And if I had my way, we'd draft Maxx Williams, possibly as early as 19..
And then you might not even see a FA stay on the team..

Gresham - TE - Free Agent
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports free agent TE Jermaine Gresham is nursing a back injury, and could have surgery on Thursday.
Per Rapsheet, Gresham's injury was "discovered in the free agent process." He'd supposedly be ready for training camp even if he goes under the knife. It explains why Gresham's free-agent market has been so quiet. Gresham appeared on his way toward a deal with the Raiders before talks stalled, presumably over his back. Gresham is the best tight end remaining on the market.

Hasn't Gresham had some nagging back issues over the course of his short career?
That's a bummer to hear about his injury. Truth be told, I wanted him more than Clay before hearing about his injury. Now I'm not so sure. I like Gresham's blocking better than Clay, and I'm not interested in getting into a bidding war over Clay.
I think we find our pass-catching TE in the draft, as another poster mentioned.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

I challenge you to do a little research instead of spouting off that kind of crap. Kiffin BLOWS as a head coach, but is a great QB coach.

I challenge you to do a little research instead of spouting off that kind of crap. Kiffin BLOWS as a head coach, but is a great QB coach. Kiffin convinced Barkley to go back to USC for his senior season (with a team that was far below the usual standard of talent for a USC team). The team went down the crapper because Kiffin was micromanaging everything and was generally a horrible person to be around. Eventually Barkley hurt his shoulder. He played several games with his shoulder injured and then finally got squished in the UCLA game. The entire USC team was poison in 2012 because of Kiffin, that partially led to Barkley's stock dropping (along with the shoulder injury). Somehow Kiffin kept his job (at least for a little while). I just realized something. . . you are the Alabama fan! That's why you are defending Kiffin. LOL!!!! It all makes sense now. Enjoy it while it lasts. . .

You must be a little s l o w if you just now realized I was an Alabama fan. Did you notice my head coaching critique of Kiffin, instead of getting your feelings hurt? He SUCKS/SUCKED as a head coach. I have NEVER liked the guy even though he so happens to be the OC at Bama. When he landed in Tennessee, he transformed a joke of a QB in Jonathan Crompton into a decent QB. As a OC at USC he did pretty well with Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart. What does this information have to do with ALABAMA??????????????????????????????????????????? He took a pathetic QB once RB at Bama in Blake Sims and squeezed AMAZING numbers out of him helped very much by Amari Cooper. Sims held Kiffin's hand all year and flourished. To simply say that Kiffin screwed up Barkley has nothing to do with the quality of an offensive coordinator he is.

This eliminates us from having any chance at Clay (not that we even had one in the first place) Not trying to sound dumb, although I will, but still can't a team submit an offer on Clay's behalf and then Miami would have to match the highest one or something? I honestly am asking a legit ?, I don't know the rules to this kinda stuff!

Link Substantial RT @viccarucci: The #Bills’ offer to Clay is for 5 yrs and $38 million. More than $20 million guaranteed. Can someone please explain to me how Charles Clay is worth "more than $20 million guaranteed?" The Bills are going to be screwed in a few years.

Well, it keeps them from using one of their two top150 picks on a TE and pushes a division rival into maybe doing that... So there is that I guess.

Right, they structured the contract well, but that doesn't mean they aren't overpaying an average player. Tight ends I'd for sure take over Clay: Gronk Graham Julius Thomas Celek Bennett Randolph Davis Olsen Ertz Kelce Tight ends I'd probably take over Clay, but you might be able to talk me out of it: Bennett Witten (because of age only) Cameron Ebron Sefarian-Jenkins The Bills are putting everything on their table and their QB is Matt Cassell. This entire tight end merry-go-round go have been avoided. We should have transition tagged Cameron and the Dolphins should have franchised Clay.

Not arguing any of that. I'm glad we didn't offer anything near that for Clay. But from the get-go Buffalo needed to craft something Miami couldn't match. I think they won in that department.

Well buffalo has no first round pick..and have others needs ontop of TE as well..Charles Clay got a pretty contract, but he's actually a very good TE. Playing in a rather weak offense he played very well and was indeed a weapon for them...Runs around and through tackles, has big reliable hands, runs really good routes for someone whom was really raw coming into the league...
I thought he was probably the second best TE in FA behind Julius Thomas, and would have put the same numbers up as Thomas...Buffalo has been perhaps the leagues worst TE weaponry for a ton of years now, this helps them greatly. They can use that second round pick on fixing that Oline now instead of TE..
Clay got paid very well...but you can say that for a majority of players in this years FA class
