Along with the termination of Andruzzi's contract, the Browns signed Jason Short.

Anyone know anything about this guy?!

Here's the article.

Andruzzi's contract terminated
Staff report
05.04.2007
The Cleveland Browns have terminated the contract of Joe Andruzzi and have signed Jason Short to a one-year contract.

Andruzzi, 6-3 and 315 lbs., started 14 games at left guard last season for the Browns and started 27 games at the position during his two-years in Cleveland. Andruzzi, is a ten-year veteran who has played in 122 career games, including 103 starts, with Green Bay, New England and Cleveland. Andruzzi joined the Browns as a free agent in 2005 following his five years with the Patriots. Andruzzi originally signed with Green Bay as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Connecticut State in 1997 and played three seasons with the Packers.

Short, 6-4 and 254 lbs., has played the last three-years with the Philadelphia Eagles as a standout special teams ace and reserve linebacker. A native of Painesville, Ohio, Short played in 12 games last season for the Eagles with 15 special teams tackles.

Isn't this the guy who got knocked out when we played the Eagles three years ago?

Dude, got cold-cocked on a return and then got up and started flipping our sideline off while the fans were applauding that he was alright.

If so, great pick up!

He's from Painesville and went to Riverside. He's a monster on special teams...

I graduated high school with Jason. Just talked to him this past Saturday. he said he was trying out on Monday but wasnt 100% so he wasnt sure if he was ready, I guess it went well though.

The kid is absolutely nuts. He was on Sports Illustrateds top 10 craziest players in the NFL (or something like that, the one that they gave Jerry Porter the #1 spot, he was #9)

He made the pro bowl ballot last year for special teams.

He busts his ass on the field and gives it 115% everytime. He is a true Brown and will fit right in.

Sounds like one of those guys who may not have his name said a lot, but will show up in the background of a suspiciously large amount of highlights.

You've got to love having this guy on your special teams. Good pickup IMO. I can't wait to see the first time he blows up somebody's returner this year.

#9 most feared player in the NFL

Affectionately known as Full Throttle, Short is so recklessly aggressive on kick coverage that offensive and defensive players alike stop to behold his violent collisions. Nominally a defensive end, the 254-pounder has no apparent regard for his -- or anyone else's -- physical well-being.

lol, between Full Throttle and Kamakazi Cribbs, we should experience more than a couple explosions on the field.

Is Short an inside or an outside linebacker?

Always good to see the us grab up a ST kamikaze. I like the "toughening" up of the Cleveland Browns for 2007. I think that is part of Phil's overall plan: get tough and dominate.

Outside LB.

Not sure what his 40 is now a days, but in college he ran a 4.4/4.5 40 time. He was the second fastest guy on that Eastern Michigan squad. They had a WR who was faster and thats it. He played RB in high school, went to Eastern Michigan as a TE, but then was converted to LB.

They signed him to a one year deal. I would think if they were unsure they would have just invited him to camp rather than signing him. The Browns were the team that showed the most interest in him.

I am trying to picture this guy playing and all I can think about is the LB from the movie "The Replacements"

Love the pickup of another guy from the area,,and one that can pop people.

Which one? The one that gets pissed and hyped up all the time? I think that's the cop who stuck some criminals head in a bucket of acid or something at the beginning.

Huge signing for the Browns ST. As 2119 said, we went to High School w/ him, and the way he plays can only HELP to fire up the rest of this squad.

At times last year, we sure needed a reason to get fired up!

I have to agree with Salty... I don't know him personally, but when a special teams player from an NFC team sticks in your mind without the media helping out then that player has something special. Short reminds me of Bennie Thompson and Ron Wolfley; a wrecking ball in a football jersey.

With a new Special Teams Coordinator and Jason Short on the roster I think Unck is in for the fight of his career with the Browns.

Hope we are not "Losing with the Locals", but hey, we lose without em. This guy is MAJOR tough on specials; after no division wins, we probably shouldn't be crowing about finding guys who can stand up and challenge Squeeler attitude on turf, 'cause that didn't go well. But we need to have a violent face on the covers, he maight be it. When cowher had these groups in his glory days at Cleveland (approximately 4 of them ) he looked more intense than anyone he fielded, so I like this pickup a bunch
Go Browns! Use the Draft, Phil! And may the Elf be with you!
