I'm gonna make a bold statement. When its all said and done, there might be a player that engraves Phil Savage's shrewdness in Browns legacy. Not Joe Thomas, which was a "no brainer"pick. Not the daredevil trade for Brady Quinn.
Tyrone Moss might be the next great RB in a Browns uni. Call me idiot, you don't know what you are talking about.
I have a feeling that Tyrone Moss could be a special player.
Tyrone Moss comes from a school that churns out RB's like a Amish women churning out quilts.
Willis McGahee,Frank Gore,Edgerrian James,Clinton Portis,Otiis Anderson,Alonzo HIghsmith.....
Why not Tyrone Moss? Priest Holmes was a undrafted free agent. Moss can't be worse than Jerome Harrison. Harrison just lacks that toughness to be a asset to a NFL team.
If Iam wrong I'm wrong...but I got a feeling that Tyrone Moss could be great.
The great thing about Moss,he hasn't even peaked yet as a player....he still has room to grow.
Some players peak their senior year in college and when that get to the NFL,they fail. They reached their ceiling.

I liked the pick-up, but I'm still hoping Harrison steps up.

Sure hope the guy is good, that or that Jerome Harrison picks it up big time. Our depth at RB is bad, and i know our team. We're like Murpheys Law. And i'm just waiting for Jamal Lewis to get a season ending injury. So we really need to find a real backup for him because Wright won't cut it. If Harrison doesn't show improvement, I will be pissed. Droughns was worth a lot more than Tim Carter.......

I still think Jerome Harrison is our 3rd down back. At least this year. The competition is between Moss/Wright/Barclay/Curtis Brown/Jerome Jackson to be that backup every down RB for Lewis this year. We need someone to spell Lewis when he's fatigued to try and keep him fresh or if Lewis ever gets hurt (God let's hope not ) Harrison fits the bill as the 3rd down back the best of that group IMO and that's specifically why we drafted him. I really think we'll see him slide more into that role this year and be pleasantly surprised. As far as Lewis' backup, that's up in the air...I'm pulling for either Moss or Brown as of now but we'll obviously know more on that after training camp.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that our RB trio will be Lewis, Harrison and Moss by the end of camp.

Moss caught a bad break with his ACL, and it does take 2 years to completely recover from an ACL.

I'm still reserved though, he was a UDFA for a reason, but we could use a UDFA surprise.

If Moss is finally fully recovered from the ACL and can get his work ethic straight, I agree, he seems like a nice powerful backup for Jamal. Still, don't count Curtis Brown out of this discussion though. I think he has as good a shot as anyone and really like him.

I just like the fact that we have a lot of players now...........at the RB position competing for a job!

I do feel that his is one of our weakest positions on the offensive side of the ball.................that may finally be a good thing to say!

It should be interesting..................if Jamal Lewis is healthy for the entire season we could be in good shape..............but would love to see Tyrone win a spot on the team!

We have a few long months to see how it all pans out here...........but exciting times for the Browns now..............just to see some of them out in Browns uniforms.................it is good!

Have you guys forgotten about Jason Wright? He's not a bad back and is decent depth for Lewis.

Overrated. Good kid though. He was good compared to Droughns, who was dreadful last year. Still there were holes that neither of them hit. I didn't doubt Droughns' vision, but his lack of speed killed him, with Wright I think it was opposite. We were better off keeping Suggs, IMO.

I've watched a couple of games whre this guy was running last year, he looked like stud. I'm sure if given the rgiht surroundings he could blossem into a star player.

What is he 5"11 240? I hope he crushes some stooler butt come season. First things first, let's make sure he makes the team.

I'm rooting for this guy though. That would be very fortunate if somone stepped up into an NFL pro-bowler status and we wouldn't have to draft a RB next year. He could just take over when Lewis hangs up his cleats.

I doubt he'll even be here in September. My man Wright is gonna run all over his lazy ass.

You might be right but man, I hope Moss or Brown can beat out Wright for the #2 spot. If they can't then so be it but we severely need an upgrade at that position IMO. Moss and Brown (being the front-runners in my mind) offer that possibility. We just have to see if it becomes a reality.

Ammo, at least Wright was on the field most of the time. Suggs was the poster child for the M.A.S.H. unit in Cleveland. LOL

Hopefully, with the left side of our line predicted to be the "best" in the league, someone will put up some yards!

You'd think the law of averages would catch up to the Browns and we'd get a break and produce some big time players! I think (hope) we're on the verge of just that!

I don't care if Moss is the one that steps up or not,,, someone has to and he's as good as anyone,...

How the heck can you say that with a straight face Impact,,,, What did Harrison get in regular season,,, 20 attempts at handleing the ball.. That's all of last year,,,, 20 attempts,,,

I think it takes more than those few carries he's had to determine that he lacks anything.... Or that he has anything for that matter....

If he don't play, you can't know!

I'm guessing Impacts saying the problem with Harrison is not when he's carring the ball but his pitiful blocking. Sad to say,IMO It looked like he closed his eyes before he attemped to block. He's young I still have hope he'll improve to at least an acceptable level.
I have to go look up Curtis Brown.

If Moss has a better work ethic and really wants to make this team then I think he can, but if you ask Miami fans they will tell yu he was lazy and out of shape, bad work ethic.

Both Barclay and Harrison need ot learn how to block, I think that was why we did't see much of either of them last year. After that they both seem to be pretty much the same style of RB.

Barclay goes 99 in Berlin win
Jeff Walcoff, Staff Writer
05.07.2007
Chris Barclay took a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown during the second quarter of a Berlin Thunder victory over the Cologne Centurions during Week 4 of NFL Europa action.

The return got the Thunder on the board after allowing three early touchdowns to the Centurions and spurred on a 21-point comeback that eventually led to a 31-28 win.

Barclay returned a total of five kicks for 180 yards, rushed 15 times for 38 yards and caught one pass for 6 yards during the victory. After four games, Barclay leads NFL Europa with404 kick return yards.

Browns receiver Steve Sanders also played in the game for Berlin but did not record a catch.

In the loss, Brownslinebacker Clifton Smith marked 8 tackles for the Centurions and forced a fumble during a crucial fourth-quarter drive for Berlin, giving the ball back to Cologne.

Punter Kyle Basler continued a strong season Saturday during the Frankfurt Galaxy's 19-17 loss to Amsterdam. Basler punted 3 times for 126 yards (42.0 avg.). His longest punt of the day traveled 51 yards from the Frankfurt 15 to the Amsterdam 34 and was returned 12 yards.

In the win, Browns defensive lineman Alvin Smith recorded 3 tackles.

Browns sign 3 rookie tryouts
Jeff Walcoff, Staff Writer
05.08.2007
The Browns have signed linebacker Kevin Spears, offensive lineman Cliff Louis and running back Jerome Jackson, the team announced Tuesday.

Each player attended this past weekend's rookie minicamp as a tryout candidate.

Jackson played amongst a talented group of running backs at Michigan that included Michael Hart and Kevin Grady. In his four-year career, the 5-feet-11 and 206-pound back rushed for 718 yards on 143 carries with 8 touchdowns.

A mammoth 6-foot-8, 300-pound prospect from Division I-AA Morgan State, Louis started for three seasons as a Bear.

Sears (6-4, 242) was a four-year contributor at linebacker for the Tigers, appearing in 41 games during his collegiate career. In 2004, he played in and started 12 games, finishing with 29 tackles (4.5 for loss) and an interception.

To make room on the roster, the team has released three players who signed as undrafted rookies lat week: running back Tyrone Moss, offensive lineman Rick Drushal, and linebacker Funtaine Hunter.

I was so high on that kid, but oh well. He must have wanted to get some tryouts in just to meet Jim Brown.

So has anyone seen this Jeroms Jackson play? Everytime I watched the OSU-Mich rivialry I never saw him because he was backing up their main guy, can't think of his name right now, oh Hart.

Anyone know where there's some highlight videos or something of him?

I usually didn't miss watching a Michigan game. He's a decent back, he didn't get many carries behind Hart...but had decent YPC when he did get the ball.

I don't believe he'll be challenging Lewis for his starting spot anytime soon, but might be a decent 2/3 back.

No offense to the guy, and I hope he proves me wrong, but I can NOT see Jackson being our backup RB. He wasn't even good enough to start at Meechigan how is he going to beat out guys at the NFL level?

Jackson wasnt Harts backup, essentially he was 4th string.

The backup job pretty much was a revolving door between Grady, Minor and Jackson.

Grady was the backup but unfortunately he couldnt hold onto the ball, so Carr would play the young stud Minor or the veteran Jackson.

Jackson will not be the Browns backup RB, sorry guys.
