So the schedule will be released tomorrow night

Rumors are that the Steelers open up at New England

Anybody want to make some guesses as to our schedule?

A few of my own guesses:

- we open up on the road in a non-division game (either NYJ, STL, or KC)

- our home opener will be in week 2 against Cincinnati

- we'll have an early/mid week bye (I'll guess week 5)

- we only have one "mandatory" primetime game: Thursday hosting the Titans

- we host Baltimore the last game of the season

So:

Week 1 - at NY Jets
Week 2 - Cincinnati
Week 3 - Arizona
Week 4 - at Seattle
Week 5 - BYE
Week 6 - Pittsburgh
Week 7 - at Baltimore
Week 8 - Tennessee (Thursday night)
Week 9 - at San Diego
Week 10 - at Cincinnati
Week 11 - Denver
Week 12 - at Pittsburgh
Week 13 - Oakland
Week 14 - at St. Louis
Week 15 - San Francisco
Week 16 - at Kansas City
Week 17 - Baltimore

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Not Week 1. It was the rematch of the NFC Championship Game, IIRC

But after that, yes it was.

Just a guess here, but I do not think we will be in the opening game of the season versus the Patriots.

On paper the teams we're playing do look rather tough but you really never know just how teams will actually pan out.

I guess I'm hoping we can open the season with a couple of "winnable" games to try and build some early confidence and rhythm?

I'm guessing because of the drama with Johnny Manziel along with our new uniforms we'll actually get a primetime game early in the season.

Week 1 - @St. Louis Rams
Week 2 - Baltimore Ravens (*Sunday Night Football*)
Week 3 - @Cincinnati Bengals
Week 4 - Oakland Raiders
Week 5 - Denver Broncos
Week 6 - Bye
Week 7 - @Pittsburgh Steelers (*Thursday Night Football*)
Week 8 - @Kansas City Chiefs
Week 9 - San Francisco 49ers
Week 10 - Cincinnati Bengals
Week 11 - @Seattle Seahawks
Week 12 - @San Diego Chargers
Week 13 - Pittsburgh Steelers
Week 14 - Arizona Cardinals
Week 15 - @New York Jets
Week 16 - Tennessee Titans
Week 17 - @Baltimore Ravens

Tough predicting a final record based off of the schedule, seeing as their are a lot of factors that play into it. Injuries on opposing teams, what type of quarterback play we're getting, and what our draft looks like next week could obviously all factor in.

I guess just looking at this schedule now with the roster we have compared to theirs, I see maybe a 6-10 record. (Bengals, Steelers, Titans, Raiders and then home "upsets" over the Broncos and 49ers).

Doesn't look too bad on paper. That is if we have an offense that can score. An elite defense isn't going to help too much if we can't score.

Soooo...At first blush, I'm guessing a 5-11 record.

If anyone wants to try to win prizes doing this, official site has a contest:

http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/fans-and-kids/contests/2015/schedule-challenge.html

Open at home against Arizona
Primetime = Pit, home, week 9. Before we can eliminate ourselves
Week 10 = Bye
16/17 = at BAL, at CIN. (cold, likely elimination won't impact our tickets)

I think we can at least match last years record. Our defense should be better, our offense lost some pieces and gained a few. Our quarterback situation is a little worse this year, hopefully someone can step up and at least give us what Hoyer did last year. We still have the draft as well but I'm a homer so I'm being optimistic.

I am just hoping we play the Chargers early in the season. I want to go to a game where I can at least talk myself into us having a chance.

I'm not even sure our QB situation is worse than we thought it was last year.

JM just got drafted.

I am going to go way out on a limb here and predict that we play 16 games against other NFL teams during the regular season.

I'd like to add to that - I am certain we will have a bye week.
There are numerous possibilities. One of them will be right. I don't understand the logic - hey the daily numbers today will be 1,2,4 I predict....lol

my grandfather played the lottery from 1978 until 2012 when he passed away ... every single day he played the numbers 2, 4, and 6 as the daily number and never won ($1 a day). It was a family joke for a long time.

He missed ONE day to have a minor surgery somewhere in the 2006-2008 range ... the daily number was 2, 4, and 6

Pats/Steelers to open the season on Thursday night

That probably means the Steelers start 0-1. No Leveon Bell for them.

That happened to my parents about 25 years ago, but with the big lottery (well, "big" for then). I guess they would have won ~$1m. I remember them not talking much to each other or us for a few days.

Oh well, who knows where we'd be if that had happened. Better or worse.

As for the schedule, I think we'll have a repeat of a Thursday night football game with the Bengals, but in Cleveland, and earlier in the year (W4).

WTF?

Why can't WE get the home game for this round?

Rough start for a rookie QB going against New York, with IMO thee best cornerback TRIO in the league. Tough for even a Peyton Manning.

Even if we do draft mariota that doesn't mean he will start. ...i really hope we don't draft him though

So we open at NYJ
My guess is week 2 we'll host Cincinnati

And that is probably a good thing. Now, anything positive he gives us is gravy.

Can't wait to begin planning the Seattle road game this year. Going to try and do Portland Weds - Fri, Seattle Fri - Mon, then take the train to Vancouver for a few days before flying back to CLE. Never been to the Pacific Northwest.

I didn't even realize I had done it, but I originally guessed us to open up at NYJ ... I feel like I've won something

You'll never want to go home. I've been to both Seattle and Portland several times. If I didn't have my whole family in Southern California, I would live in Portland.

I see maybe 5 or 6 wins as the teams are right now. It's going to be another tough year unless we can really improve with the draft and get better than expected qb play.

I'm happy we have a home game on 9/27. I'll be in Columbus on Saturday for the OSU game, then the Timbers/Crew game, now I get a Browns game on Sunday in Cleveland. It'll be a great weekend.

Yeah, it's hard to look at that schedule and get excited for wins. With some exceptions, I see all our competitive games being within the division, and we know how those usually go.

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

4 wins? Dang, I could see us possibly opening 4-0 if we get any decent QB play....guess we lose out from there!
