Not sure if anyone else is watching this interview ... or if you've been paying attention to Bruce Jenner's saga (I really haven't) ... but this is STRANGE for me to wrap my head around

just gotta roll with it. takes a lot of courage to not only make the decision, but to come out and get blasted by media and public opinion, and still take it like a champ.

Too each his own... I don't get it, but my mind doesn't work that way. I'm a man in a man's body so I really can't relate.

I do know that it sounds like a lot to go through to be happy with who you are or have come to believe you are.

Until this whole thing came out, I had no idea that he was Papa Kardashian. I personally think they are all a little messed up and dysfunctional. Jenner's inner woman might be at least part of the reason why they are the way they are. Never really cared before, don't really care now.

I just finished watching the TV special. Powerful stuff. Kinda sad in a way, but on a positive note, he's finally gonna become what he always wanted to be.

Must have been tough living like that all his life.

I hope Bruce finds all he is seeking.

Yep, this kinda thing doesn't really phase me anymore. Granted I work in NYC. Just another person seeking their bliss and finding their way. It is mildly surprising that it's Mr 70's Wheaties box cover but I guess as surprising as anyone else really. I'm encourage that generally people have pretty much reacted sanely and with some compassion.

i think it's a testament to our country that nobody really cares about this. This affects our personal life in absolutely no way shape or form.

him getting a sex change doesn't change our car payment on the 1st of the month.

One question. Since Bruce feels that his brain is much more female then male does Bruce use the women or men's locker room at Planet Fitness?

By all means, do what you want; be who you are ... and don't forget to maximize the exposure with high profile network interviews, not to mention being plastered all over every grocery store tabloid and magazine. Oh yeah, and the internet.

Honestly, I don't give a damn what Bruce Jenner does with his silly little weezer behind closed doors. I just wish he would have a little dignity and drop the whole "Wonder Of Me" spectacle. Its both annoying and creepy. Clearly, the guy never got over being nobody after his 15 minutes of being somebody.

My wife was watching this interview and I walked in the room. I saw him on screen and did a quick back step. That quick sight was enough for me. I don't care what the guy/gal does but damn he makes one ugly gal.

My sentiments exactly. If I'm not supposed to care what he does with his body, then STOP throwing it in my face all the time.

If he wants to be accepted and left alone to his family and his decision, then STOP parading yourself on TV, internet, etc.

If he wants to be treated like everyone else, then ACT like everyone else.

I feel the same way when a "new" gay/lesbian outing occurs...I DON'T CARE...but if you insist on repeatedly shoving it in my face, be prepared to get a response that might "offend" you.

I dunno if you guys were aware. But bruce himself never was really in front of the camera. it was his wife and those things he calls daughters.

the media pursued the transformation. y'all wanna be mad at him, yet not the people making it a big deal in the first place.

I've stayed out of these conversions since the second week I became a member back in 2001 when I insulted two of the most wonderful people on this board.

But I do have something to say this time...

Apparently neither you nor I care what he does. He can do whatever he wants and it doesn't effect us.

On the other hand, there are others who feel just like him but struggle daily with these same feelings. The "Wonder of Me" spectacle may just be enough to help them not feel so alone in this. Not saying it will automatically convince them to make the same changes it seems Jenner is about to make, or to be as public as he is being with it. But it will certainly help them feel less alone in their situation.

That's a good thing. You and me and others who feel the same as we do can just turn our heads ignoring the spectacle.

I think it took a lot of courage and hopefully some good will come from all the exposure he's getting... With that said I hope ESPN can get back to reporting sports stories...

You are correct, but a counter point is that the media didn't break into his home, tie him up and force him to answer questions for a few hours. He went along with it.

With that said, I can he may have done this, not for his own exposure, but maybe he felt he had a chance to bring this to the public in a way that most others would never be able to or want to.

But all in all, I don't care, what he or anyone like him does is their business, as long as it doesn't adversely affect others.

If you are making millions just for being famous, having never accomplished much else (like his family) then take the good with the bad... I'm not mad at him, just sick of this being on the cover of every magazine I see at the grocery store and TV specials and popping up on my computer news... Just completely sick of having it shoved in my face.. if he wants to do it, I don't really care, but it's not a national news story.

When it comes to discussing transgendered folks I've never really had much of an opinion. I don't have any personal experiences to draw on that I can relate enough or speak knowledgeably enough to. It's just a very foreign concept for me.

Having said that, I've found that lately I've been actually kind of rooting for Bruce Jenner. I think a lot of it is rooted in feeling bad that the guy's (gal's?) transformation is being made in to a freak show by the media.

I also feel bad for Bruce in that for someone who wants to be or has always felt he is a woman, that he's been surrounded by some pretty awful examples of what a respectable woman should be.

Yeah I think I have seen a photo of you in action. Reminds me of my own son. 13 months in Iraq. Bruce don't hold a candle to the Men in the Armed Forces. That was my whole point.

Bruce Jenner is an American Hero. Bruce destroyed the Soviets and freed the World during the Olympics.

I don't get it. I don't know what its like to be a female trapped in a mans body. I don't know what its like to be an Olympic hero as a young man, and then transitioning from being relevant in American popular culture, to becoming increasingly irrelevant in American popular culture...all the way to becoming simply background noise in the Kardashian clan....

Idk....it seems like he felt like a footnote amongst the rest of his family, as Kim became a cultural icon through a porn film and brought the rest of her sisters into the limelight the same way....all while Bruce Jenner still was mired in an eternally increasing level of irrelevance...

If he wants to be a woman, and felt that that was the only way he could be happy once again...then, I guess, good for him.

I feel bad for his son(s?), not sure if he has more than one; but I think it would be hard living in a family where your sister made a name for herself by releasing a porn tape, and your father reveals that he has wanted to be a woman his whole life, and has finally made a move to realize his dreams...

And I agree with yours. I don't think anybody in this situation just wakes up one day and decides to change their sex witout some deep seeded issues. It does take courage. Extra in Jenners case since he/she is a well known figure.

It would be awkward, unfortunately in today's America, if he says anything that's not 100% supportive and how great he thinks it all is, he would get absolutely blasted.

Honestly, one of my pick-up lines (to admitted bi or lesbian women) used to be: "I'm a lesbian trapped in a man's body."

That line worked great! If I had been a masochist and enjoyed the ensuing kick to the groin.
