Farmer again is showing he has no ability in gauging value or acquiring the best available prospect by position. I would think by next year, if Farmer is still the Browns GM, Haslam will have to decide if he gives Farmer total control of the draft again. I am grading this draft as a C-. The entire division out-drafted Farmer again.
GO BROWNS!

It's a little early to say this. Let's see them on the field before we go making conclusions.

No it isn't his last one. Just because he isn't picking who you want doesn't mean it is a bad draft.
Step away from the keyboard for a while, read up on the players. Try to understand our needs and then you might just realize that this is a pretty good draft for us.

I don't know how you can say that but....I think this is the best draft we've had in quite awhile.

To answer the title of this thread. Yes, I believe it will be his last draft in the NFL as a GM period. He trades picks in a talent heavy draft last year for more picks in a below average draft this year. We are gonna have one of the absolute worse offenses that the NFL has ever seen and he did nothing to address that at all and in fact we have gotten worse this off-season. Pettine stays but Farmer is gone.
Congratulations to our 2016 NBA Champion CLEVELAND CAVALIERS!!! Greatest comeback in sports history... Hail to the King!

I wish we had drafted this well last year... stayed true to the board.
No it will not be his last.

J/C 4 of 7 Browns draft picks so far from the PAC-12. Danny Shelton - Washington Nate Orchard - Utah Xavier Cooper - Washington St Vince Mayle - Washington St Probably just an odd coincidence, and I loved the Shelton pick. To appease the dooms-dayers, maybe in the future we try to scout the entire country instead of focusing on one conference?

I think that this will wind up being a really good draft for us.
I think that we added guys who definitely fit what the coaches want to do, and that fit to scheme is really important.
I will never forget when Mangini was our coach, and Heckert traded for a 4-3 DT. That was a disaster in the making. This looks like a darn good draft so far, and we still have 5 picks left.

What's the difference? Heckert obviously drafted for the future (which didn't include Mangini, the problem was Holmgren's stupid gut call to keep Mangini around as adead duck HC), now Farmer drafts for the future. None of the picks is projected or guaranteed to start this season. A handful of rotational players and backups. Duke Johnson probably has the best shot at impact, but he will share with Crowell too

I hate every pick this year. All the positions Farmer drafted this year are un-needed. Every weakness we had has been overlooked in favor of doubling down on positions we don't need.
He should have drafted 50 WR's. You can never have enough. In fact, he should have traded down all our picks so he'd have 20 or so 6th and 7th rounds to take every WR available.
After the draft he should take every WR who went undrafted. He should use he shotgun approach. Bound to find a diamond in the rough that way.
He also should have taken one of the two best QB's this draft. He has no excuse for not having done that.
He had a chance to draft multiple TE's but passed them over. He should have picked them all.
He doesn't understand that a football team doesn't need defensive players. They especially don't need DL or OL types.
Teams need playmakers. Guys who can score points. The NFL has changed. Points win games these days.

I just don't think Farmer can save his job by being this conservative. It's gonna take years and years and years to build an offense that can even begin to compete in our division at this rate.

Duke Johnson probably has the best shot at impact, but he will share with Crowell too None are projected to start? Really? Shelton and quite possibly Erving are going to, at least, compete for starting jobs. Will they be handed starting jobs? Well, looking at how Pettine handled the team last year, I would say that no one will be handed anything. However, both of those 2 will definitely compete for starting jobs. Orchard will not start, but he can still be a hugely impactful player, who can help turn a game with his pass rush ability by playing only passing downs. I like both of our 3rd round picks. Cooper is, surprise, a pass rushing DL. We also added Duke Johnson, who will be a weapon for us. We picked all players who fit what we want to do as a team. I am glad to see it. I didn't love every player we took, but I definitely like most of them, and see how they can help this team.

Gordon comes back next year and suddenly we have a top 10 receiver corps. Lasts years receiver class was special. This one is hyped as one, but I don't think it'll live up to it. You pick the players that can help your team and fit what you want to do. I liked Cooper and White, but not enough to trade up. Parker is a poor man's Josh Gordon to me. The rest some solid guys, but nothing special.

Conservative is good when establishing the foundation, I think. The alternative is to take chances. I don't think we're in any position to take chances yet. I don't think it will take years and years to build a competitive offense. I believe it's best to solidify the baking of the cake and then add the icing when the cake is cool.

You are assuming that Farmer has to save his job. Maybe he just has to do his job, and it seems like that is exactly what he did this year. Face it, we are going to be limited as to how well we can build our offense until we find our QB. Maybe Manziel turns out to be that guy, and we don't have to look as desperately. If he isn't, then we are probably going to have to continue to pull names out of the hat at QB and hope we get lucky. I think that we will be an improved team this year. I have said all along that I expect us to be a 9 win team. That means that we are going to have to find our QB in the last 1st on. (If Manziel isn't the guy) I am curious as to why you feel that Farmer "has to save his job".

Only time will tell about this years draft and Farmer. What I find interesting is reading people putting so much faith in Farmer. What has he done to garner such loyalty? This guy ran out a decent OC after one season (at least better than we've had in the past). Undermining the HC by texting other coaches during a game? Is this the actions of a competent decision maker? A recipe for sustained success? Most of the NFL views our FO as a joke. Is there no wonder why we can't get top talent to come here via FA?
The draft is the only way for this team to improve. Compared to the teams in our division, we are still years away from competing on a consistent level. Reaching on picks is not going to get us out of the AFC North cellar anytime soon.

Haslam is why he has to save his job. Do you think that Haslam will sit back and watch us build the team slowly? Sorry I don't. Yes, Manziel COULD turn things around, but would you bet on it with what you saw in the couple of games he played in? He was beyond awful, even by Cleveland standards. The O-Line and RBs are pretty good but besides that we have a longgg way to go on offense.
Interesting how you think this team is a 9 win football team?
