The guy couldn't hit the floor if he dropped the ball at that point. It was a great play by LBJ, but if my twitter timeline was any indication, there was very few people wanting LBJ taking a jumper there. J.R. was the guy with the hot hand and the cold blood.

Anyway...it is what it is. A win. The most important thing for winning, and I just don't see it happening sans a miracle, is getting Ky and Shump healthy. Somehow someway we need to win two straight and give these guys some major rest. I'm waiting for Tuesday's intros to be to the theme from M.A.S.H.

1.5 left is a catch and shoot scenario, and you have several guys who can fit that setup.

Don't forget you had problems inbounding and Lebron is your best passer and smartest player. Anything more than 3 seconds and Lebron needs to be on the floor.

Lebron has to say what he said.

Did any of them even watch the game? Lebron was wretched up until that last shot. He was the biggest reason it was a tie game at that point instead of being up by 10. If anything, Blatt was giving him an "out" so he didn't feel like he HAD to make the last shot, even if he wasn't feeling it. I think it was more of a CHALLENGE to his best player. He wanted him to step in and say, "No coach, I'll make this shot". THAT is the mindset you want your best player to be in. Not, "Well, I know I've been terrible all game, but I guess I'll try and make this shot you want me to make ... pressure's on."

I actually think it's a bit of brilliant head coaching. If Blatt draws it up so Lebron isn't even a shooting option and Lebron says, "Eh, sure ... I'll pass it in" ... would you really want him taking the last shot anyway?

This could very well be correct, but we for sure will never know. This I do know. Blatt said in his presser (paraphrasing here): "Every time I go out to dinner I pay for it. You know why? (the reporter answered wrong). No. Because I always grab the check. LeBron grabbed the check and that is what you want from him."

Someone was not doing his job, even at the college level we have constant updating on stats such as how many fouls each player has, and how many timeouts we have left. That information is relayed to the assistant coaches who make sure the head coach is aware.

Miami did it all the time. Lebron very rarely took the final shot, unless DWade was out

Love the anger in his face.

We're trying to throw the ball downfield and he checked the ball down to Trent Richardson and the Indians on the choice.

This is the third time I've heard that this morning. Apparently it's the main responsibility of the assistant coach to keep track of time-outs and inform the coach when they are out.

I highly doubt it ever happens again. I mean, this common sense stuff IMO, shouldn't even have been something we have to discuss. Dang lucky they didn't get a freebie foul shot and the ball back.

This is probably why Lue grabbed Blatt by the arm.

To be fair, Blatt is the assistant to LeBron. So really Blatt should have known how many TOs were left.

Shoot - even at the 8th grade level it should be done.

Granted, our 8th grade girls team doesn't have assistant coaches - that's why, as the book keeper, I always told the coach - especially toward the end of games "hey, you have 1 t.o. left" (or 2, or 0, or whatever)

The officials were missing/no calling on alot of calls. I didn't really get that mad because they were doing it on both ends. We benefited by some misses/no calls.

J/C ...... is it the very definition of irony that there is some rassling video at the bottom of the page?

Here's a look at the shot from multiple angles. From the rear, it looks like TT plowed into Noah.

He might have. From the limited games I've seen this season, plowing into someone is the norm.

However, there's no disputing that noah was hugging/holding TT like TT was noah's love that he hadn't seen in years.

Exactly. The only hope is to get him in a hyperbaric chamber until minutes before gametime.

wow you are a special kind of stupid aren't you...way to take something completely out of context.. of course I wouldn't expect anything less from you. Just so you can't say I didn't explain...the context in which what that was said was simply referring to being able to rest the guys that are banged up..nothing more, nothing less..I fully expect close games in the playoffs..I guess I have to break down every thought romper room style

It means, that despite what the mainstream media tells you regarding "Lebron not being able to make the big shot" ... he's actually pretty dang good at it.

So I had this image earlier ...

But then I saw a link to this site which keeps track of all kinds of play-by-play statistics and let's you filter:
Lebron Playoff shots in the last 10 seconds to win or tie

Interestingly enough, according to their records, he only has 13 shots in the last 10 seconds, and he made 7 of them. That's a shooting percentage of 53%, which would actually top Jordan.

Of those 6 misses, 1 was a half-court heave against the Magic, 1 was the shot Noah prison raped him on right before he hit the game winner, and two were games he ended up winning in overtime anyway.

These numbers are readily available to everyone. It's not the media, it's Skip Bayless. That's it. Everyone knows LeBron is good.

I kind of knew what the numbers posted above meant. I am just not a fan of people posting things they (might not) understand to support their cause.

Nah, it's more than Brainless ... err, Bayless. Then again, I live in the SoCal media market, so they're constantly talking down Lebron to try and boost up Kobe.

I live in the epicenter of Kobe worship. There are, literally, still people who would take Kobe over anyone in the league.

j/c:

A few thoughts in regards to posts I have read:

--Thanks to king for pointing out it is the assistant's job to inform the HC about how many TOs the team has remaining. I have been both the assistant and HC. The HC can't worry about that crap.

--This isn't going to be popular, but it annoys me that LeBron [if you guys are correct] overruled Blatt. I know why Blatt chose LeBron. The stupid announcers were talking about Jones being chosen to inbound the ball a bit before that last play, but Jones missed so many open guys. He was killing me w/his indecision. I am screaming to let someone else inbound the ball. LeBron has the height, savvy, and passing ability to make the inbounds pass. If you don't get it in, you don't score. Additionally, Blatt probably wanted to run a play for Smith.

--Building on that..............I still think this team would be a lot better if LeBron would pull a Jordan or a Kobe and believe in his coach. LeBron wants to do it all. The problem is that Blatt is smarter than LeBron when it comes to running offenses. I do not think we can win it all if LeBron continues w/this superior complex. I could be dead wrong and won't argue about it. It is simply my opinion.

--I will say this.............No way does LeBron have the killer instinct that Jordan and Kobe had during their day. It ain't even close. I am real tired of watching LeBron make sloppy turnovers and then NOT run back on defense.

I have no problem with Lebron overruling the coach, especially in a situation like yesterday. I think he's earned that right.

I don't think it somehow undermines the coach. I'm sure Jordan and Kobe went away from Phil Jackson's calls at times. Lebron overruled Spoelstra all the time in Miami, and he went out of his way in that letter to make sure everyone knew that he and ES had a great relationship.

Brady overrules Belichick's calls at the time, and those guys put a full week of really hard film study and prep into a game played once a weeek 16 times.

I respect your opinion, but I vehemently disagree.

LeBron's decisions are hurting us. I hate that 1-4 crap offense, where he pounds it on the perimeter and everyone else stands around.

We have a real bb mind w/Blatt and we are wasting it because LeBron's ego is getting in the way.

I don't quite see it like that, but I understand the frustration. Chicago is packing the paint. Our spacing is gone. Kyrie's ability to drive and ability to shoot are at less than 50% right now.

I think he feels like he has to shoulder the workload. I wish they'd mix things up, but who on this team has a mid range game? Smith and Shumpert are primarily 3 point guys in this scheme.

For the last 4 months this team has been a well oiled machine. Kevin Love's injury really hindered a lot of that, and now with Irving, it's even worse. Not to mention that Shumpert has not looked right since he screwed up his groin in game 2.

You can dump the ball into Mozgov a little more, but the Bulls have upped their effort in the paint more and more as this series has gone on. There just aren't a lot of options right now. A lot of Lebron's turnovers came in the paint, trying to draw fouls and ease up the Bulls defense. Didn't happen. They still ran nice offense inside the last 6-7 minutes where they took control of the game.

I think you have to go back to Smith as your starting 2 tomorrow. Let Shump come off the bench, and maybe he can add a spark in a different role. JR showed the last two games that his shooting is one of the few positives we have right now. Having him out there may open up opportunities for Lebron to get to the rim.
