He isn't projected to be a starter year one by many reports. The kid needs development and skill training catching with his hands not trapping against his body as he did in college.

About his 40 time. I've seen a few scouting reports say his speed is built up and he adjusts his speed to coverage very well to get separation. His top speed is pretty impressive going long.

I'm pretty excited to see how he develops into this system. I don't think he's going to be an overnight sensation but a long productive career is not out of reach.

This thing about catching with your hands, the way I see it, If a guy makes a catch with his body or with his hands, they're both a catch.

I always like the feel of a catch against my body more than a catch with my hands, and I think with the new "football move" definitions of what IS a catch, that a catch against your body may be easier to be proved a catch than a catch with your hands.

I know Chris Carter would disagree with me, and he's an NFL hall of famer, but if a players in open space and has the time/chance, then just catch it body or hands and get it toward the end zone.

I know you got to high point it, go and fight for it, but every once in a while that split second stuff isn't necessary, even in the NFL, and at those times, just play football, just make the catch and score the points.
Sometimes just don't overcomplicate things, just go out and throw and catch.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Did you ever play football? As a receiver?

You catch with your hands, NOT your body. Period. From middle school on up to the NFL, you catch with your hands.

I don't see this guy making a lot of body catches. He makes catches close to his body, but most are hands first & quickly pulled in tight.

I just went through most of the You Tube library on him ( small sample I know ), & I didn't get that knock.

Now, I can't tell you how he dropped something like 19 balls last yr., but I'd be surprised if they were all because he was trying to trap them with his body.

I was thinking the same thing as Demo, but I didn't take the time to verify it and watch the tape again. I think his problem was more trying to turn it up field before he had possession than not extending for the hands catch. He still kind of plays like the running back he was in high school. He's looking for the hole instead of watching the ball the whole way in.

This is contact football not touch or flag.

Also you would be amazed at the balls thrown by an NFL QB...like none ever thrown to you before...it makes a zzzzzip sound and would bounce off that body.

Yes they are. My point was he's mold-able and can gain the hand eye skills while developing into the WR "we" all hope he can be. Well most of us are. Regardless of that I know Vince will need to convince.
