Here ... you can watch both Bazemore and Korver evacuating the premises in this one:

So, are they giving it to us, or is LeBron timing it up with the 3-seconds in the paint rule, or what?

rofl

Maybe he is a basketball genius! They certainly looked like, "Oh Crap! I'm at 2.5 seconds!"

On a side note ... could we get "Vine videos" as one of the media options in the media tags? We could probably replace Myspace videos with that?

Cavaliers coach David Blatt said the team is hopeful guard Kyrie Irving will be able to play in Friday's Game 2 matchup at Atlanta, reports ESPN.com.

Irving has been dealing with a right foot strain and tendinitis in his left knee. He aggravated the left knee issue during Game 1 on Wednesday. During Wednesday's contest, Irving scored 10 points on 4-of-10 shooting in 27 minutes.

The Cavaliers are 1-point underdogs for Game 2 at Atlanta.

Would they sit Kyrie even though he could probably play in Game 2 because the Cavs have already taken one in Atlanta?

Looks like I jumped the gun. It looks like it doesn't matter how long either series goes as the Finals are set to start on an exact date ... per candy.

If it wasn't that way, then yes it would be more ideal if they went 7 games and we went 4. But in my mind I don't think it's possible for the Rockets to take the Warriors to 7 games.

It was a terrible post on many fronts. cool

I know Isaiah Thomas was clowning Milsap's attempts to guard Lebron last night. Lebron would take him outside and then blow by him.

I have no idea why they seemed so intent to body up on him 30 feet from the basket. I would dare LeBron to beat me from deep all day before I made it easier for him to get a step and go to the basket.

I think they should dress him, but only insert if the score is getting outta hand. Him hurt renders him a target when he's playing defense. Let him rest up cause chances are, we may not need him coming home to play in tomorrow's game.

I had the opposite thought.. Cavs took game 1 on the road, Atlanta is going to come out fired up.. I'd sit Kyrie from the start and consider putting him in later if the game is winnable..

I just sit him, period, and see how we do. Dress him so that he could go in and help if needed, but I think you should see if you can sit him the whole game, perhaps the next two, and hopefully have him ready to go to close it out (assuming best case scenario here).

If we think we can win with him sitting, then sit him and see if we can get him pretty close to 100% for the Finals.

Of course, the problem is this: He played 27 minutes. Who picks up that time?

Even if he isn't out there scoring, he has to be accounted for, which can spread the floor. Who else can bring that?

We all have those every now and then. In fact, I almost had one yesterday. I typed out the post then luckily caught myself before submitting it.

Hawk's biggest issue now becomes... who can "try" to guard LeBron? From my limited understanding of their team, DeMarre Carroll is their top defender and even if he plays on that knee, there's no way he's 100% and I thought LBJ as-is had his way with him when he was not hurt.

All their attention of LBJ, one of the greatest passers in the league also, and who be wide open? We got some snipers there. Even Delly and Shumpert has proved they can connect from downtown. JR Smith? Yeah, it's going to be rough for Atlanta.

I'm calling we taking game two, Irving has limited to no reps and LBJ has another 30+ point game.

-I have no idea what Atlanta was trying to do on that Lebron dunk that sealed the game, but man that looked like vintage 2007 Lebron.

-Glad Carroll is ok, but the media needs to stop acting like he's going to stop Lebron. Lebron was beating him last night.

-There's no way JR can do that every night, but any night where he does do that, the Cavs aren't losing, to anyone, period.

-I don't know about sitting Kyrie, because I think his heart and toughness is spreading to the rest of the team, but I would limit his minutes, play Delly a bit more, and move Shump over to PG to help out with minutes.

-I loved the play that JR set TT up on the lob. JR was lava-hot, but passed up a chance to hit another three to set up a really easy basket for his teammate. Lebron went nuts off the bench after that. It's good to see that from a guy like JR who was in a zone.

-The only problem when you have a streak like you did with JR was that it will cause the other team to go on a bit of a run once the shooter cools off. Although you will take that trade off any day.

-I don't think resting Kyrie is going to do anything at this point. He's just going to have to fight through it. I think it builds characer for him, but the knocks on him being injury prone aren't gonna go away. The next time you see Kyrie close to 100% will probably be in November. It's just the way it goes. I think we'll get spurts here and there, but it's disappointing to see how close we are and our big 3 is really down to just Lebron. He's making it work though. This may be his best job at being a leader since being drafted.

Korver was scared and it looked like Bazemore (I believe) was running out to the shooter as if LeBron was going to pass it. Really unsound basketball as Bazemore was the last line of defense.

If we win game 2, I'd start considering giving Kyrie rest. He's gonna be chugging HEAVY minutes if we make the finals. Him and Lebron would be playing close to 38+ minutes a game in the Finals.

Watching the Hou-GS game. Kyrie can't stay with Curry. Shumpert might be able to. Delledova might be able to annoy hime enough to throw his shot off - kinda like that little gnat that justy won't leave you alone.

There was an open man in the direction Korver ran. Maybe he thought someone was going to rotate into the paint and try and stop LeBron and then LeBron kicks it out? That's my only "He didn't want to get dunked on" explanation.

Tough ending for Houston last night. I'm hearing some "critics" saying that McHale should have called a timeout and I disagree. You have a 5 on 4 with an MVP caliber player going downhill towards the paint ... couldn't ask for a better scenario

We need his points (Kyrie's) or some of them. Don't see him healing until after the war, so gut check and bring all you can. Think the Super Subs can take up some slack. Take two in Atlanta and go home. Make it so.

Just a sidecar thought: In sports, sometimes I found myself able to play a shade more intensely if I was helping to cover up and carry an injured teammate. He doesn't have to have a 100% out there, but it will show on defense and fatigue in others perhaps.

The problem with Kyrie isn't so much his offense, but his defense. We can at least set him up as a catch-and-shoot guy on the offensive side, but on defense he becomes a huge liability. Jeff Teague was blowing past him on every possession and I'm not sure he has the size to defend Korver (although that might be the better option).

Worry about that when we get there. Hopefull we can close out the Hawks early and have lots of rest time for Kyrie.

I just saw something yesterday that I hadn't even realized ...... so far in the playoffs this year, the Cavaliers are 5-1 on the road.

That is excellent so far. laugh

You stick him on Barnes and live with him going off. Stick Shump on Curry and Lebron on Klay.

Far from it.
I don't think we can expect Smith to go off like he did, which will change the dynamic of things quite a bit.

I would think that we should be expecting one slobberknocker of a battle tonight.

Hawks badly need Carroll though. Bazemore gives up about 30-40 pounds to Lebron. Lebron will physically harass him on the low block. If they try Milsap, just set a screen every play and Lebron will run right past Milsap. Without Carroll, the Hawks are the Toronto Raptors.

IMO the Hawks must win 2 of the next 3 ... which will be tough without Carroll (at least for one game).

I'm fairly sure LeBron won't mind if Carroll is out of the lineup tonight

Love the phrase. I am in a kinda "slobberknocker" mood myself tonight. Going up 2-0 on the road would be fantastic. Go, Cavs!
