At this point, I'm 99.9% certain there will be no Griff and nothing to do w/ the Greyjoys/Iron-born.
This season is still friggin good, in spite of dealing w/ a whole lotta filler in those last 2 books.
I'm only really miffed w/ the whole Sansa at Winterfell story line and not just because of the bad thing that happened Sunday night. I KNEW the show would go into unpublished book territory, but I just wasn't prepared for it to happen this soon. I am certain her storyline in the next book, if it is EVER really coming, will be totally different. . .
As for the stuff that non-readers can understand, the Sand Snakes have been horrible. Bad acting. Typical unconvincing tough-girl stuff. And obviously they're not trained in any kind of fighting. That little skirmish made EVERYONE, including Jamie & Bronn, look terrible.

It looked like something out of a Xenia Princess Warrior outtake. Just awful.
This show moves painfully slow because there are too many plot lines going on at once. I still keep up with it though for whatever reason...

Most of the season has been a drag to me ! Shame .. I agree. I have not been a fan as opposed to prior seasons. And it has nothing to do with those people that don't like the dramatic book deviation, it's simply based on the slow plots, and pretty bad acting (the Sand Snakes are extremely tough to watch). I mean that fighting scene in the Water Gardens was absolutely embarrassing. So poorly done compared to the other fighting scenes this show has produced. Generally, I think this is a trend you see with HBO series, or maybe show series in general. After much hard work is put in by actors, director, writers, etc. to produce amazing seasons, the effort seems to twindle (thus the show output) as seasons go on. Now, to be fair, this is the only season I've felt that about GOT. But I've seen it before, Trueblood, Rome, Boardwalk Empire, on an on. I hope this doesn't continue with GOT. Also, the last two books haven't been as action packed as GOT, COK, SOS, so maybe it's been real tough for the show writers to project what will eventually happen w/o knowing EVERYTHING in the upcoming books, but have an idea of the general ending. I think the big season 5 ending has to do with Jon's plot (last scene of his from the book AND "R+L=J" as they've hinted at certain non-visable characters throughout the season). The show usually does it's "OH CRAP!" moment in episode 9 while setting up the next season's plots in the final episode. I think we'll see that again, and if true and with some reveal ahead of the books, the fans will come on back.

I liked the nice twist in Sunday nights episode.
Not having read the books, I didn't see that one coming where a certain someone (no spoilers) was thrown in jail at the end of the episode. Nicely done.
This season has certainly been a bit slower than the others, but hopefully the battle of Winterfell will be worth the way come the end of the season....

I'm going to be SUPER disappointed if Margery (spelling?) ends up dying. I'm hoping the young king will step it up and get violent for his queen.

During that whole trial/inquiry thing, and then when they took away Margaery and her brother, I was sitting there thinking the whole Cercei and Jamie relationship is going to backfire on her. Ramsay....I just wanna beat that dude within inches of his life, let him heal, and repeat it week after week until I am old and grey. The dude is just sick.

The Hound didn't deserve to get whacked. Joffrey poisoned? He got off easy relative to his reign of stupidity and recklessness. I can only hope Cersei gets what coming to her too.

I almost hope they don't kill off Cersei, mainly because shes so easy to dislike. I almost would love to see her suffer in jail for a few seasons. I didn't see the Hound die, did you?? Solid point. He never actually dies on screen. Still though, I expect his character is dead. Just my gut feeling anyway. This show is often about surprises, so it wouldn't shock me terribly if he ends up alive. The mountain on the other hand...

The Hound didn't deserve to get whacked. How do you know the Hound is dead? Edit: Sorry, I overlooked your direct response to me.

If you didn't like that episode (non book reader myself) then just denounce yourself as a fan of the show and stop whining/watching.

i love this show...i get so invested in the story and characters...I really enjoy it.. I have to admit i did a fist pump when I realized Joffrey was going to die. I Love Peter Dinklage. Really good cast, most seem like they were born to play the roles.
I am curious how the drama at the wall will unfold..i'm thinking Jon and the wildlings arent going to be allowed to just walk through. And I think Sansa realizing her brothers and jon are still alive is going to open other areas

Couldn't believe Stannis, though. That's harsh.

I've always felt the "Lord of Light" was not really a deity to be mans champion. What kind of virtuous God grants his power in the way Mellisandra calls upon and wields it? They killed and innocent girl, would have killed Gendry (Robert Storm in the books). What kind of God is that? Sir Davos will probably abandon Stannis now. I don't see any other way. He will probably go in search of Rickand once he finds out.
Arya is in the house of Black and white (ying yang) which worships the "many face God". They feel there is only One God, each of the other Gods are just his many faces. So is the Night King and R'hllor two heads of the same coin??
If any Stark wins the Game of Thrones I think it will be Rickand. The last remaining true born male Stark. Brann I feel will remain where he is, pulling strings from the trees.
Jon no matter what is a Bastard. Even if R + L = J, he is a bastard. Dany still has the better claim. Young Griff in the books also would have the best claim.
Jon is probably Azor Ahai. In the book Melisadre asked R'hllor to show her Azor (Stannis) but the fire kept showing her Jon. The sword killing the wight may have been a tip at that.

I can't remember, what was the Origin of Jon's sword. when he killed the white walker 2 episodes ago, that was really the first hmmmmmm moment for me.

It was the Mormont's of Bear Island's family sword, they carried the sword for 500 years. It's previous history is unknown. It was given to his son Jorah. Jorah sold poachers into slavery, since it is against the law in the north (all criminals must be sent to the wall) Ned Stark was going to have Jorah executed. Jorah fled before Ned's party arrived but Jorah knowing he shamed his family sent the sword to his father at the wall, who then gave it to Jon.

Season finale coming up on Sunday.
Any predictions?
I'm predicting a shocking death.
My guess is either Queen Cersi (spelling?) or Queen Margery.
The last two episodes have been SOLID GOLD and I cannot wait to see what happens next!

I hope Stannis and the Boltons destroy each other. If I had to choose, I'd prefer Stannis, because he'd most likely free Sansa and any other Starks.
Shows how evil the Boltons are when you're rooting more for a guy that burned his daughter alive.

Man....
Reading the book, it gives you hope for Jon Snow's return. After seeing this episode....damn.
These books/show is unreal man. It's like I don't even know who to root for any more.
I'm still hoping that Jon Snow saves the world. God, I can't wait for the next book to come out.

Everything is sayin Jon Snow is really dead and he probably is, however in the Book Milesandra never went with Stannis, she was at the wall. In the show she abandons Stannis and goes to the wall. I'm thinking she resurrects Jon like Barrick Dondarian and Lady Stoneheart. I can't believe that the "who's Jon's mom" doesn't get wrapped up and this is his end.
The only other story line that makes George Martin kind of sense is all the "heroes" that can beat the Night King are killed by men and in turn men doomed themselves to the fate of the others.

After last nights episode, all I can say is wow.
I read about the zombie version of The Mountain returning, and I can't wait to see him go to town on that religious cult in the next season (something I assume is going to happen).
Stannis getting spanked wasn't really a big surprise...
But I didn't see Jon Snow getting killed.
Just, wow...

I really hope Melisandre has a role in bringing Jon back, if they kill Jon off, I'm not sure I can watch anymore..it doesn't make sense, there is so much more left in that story
