Pretty much exclusively a PC gamer here.

Prefer 4X strategy and FPS games... lately, have been playing Civ5 and also going back and playing the original Master of Orion, but the group that I game with has started playing Insurgency. In fact, I just set up a dedicated server for us to play on.

PC gaming is the only way I play. I still play BF'42 online most weekends.

How do Sports games (Madden, NBA2k, FIFA) play on PC?

I'm a Civ junkie as well... been diving in mods lately to tide me over til a Civ 6 pops up. Tried Europa Universalis but never really got off the ground with it. Just didn't capture me.

LOVED MOO...I think I played the second one. Tried the third but it wasn't the same.

I use to play PC games, old school Sierra ones such as King's Quest, Police Quest and so forth. Then we got an Atari, and it has been console since.

*EDIT* I just wanted to express how incredibly old I feel now after having said "... then we got an Atari". frown

They stopped making Madden for PC after 07. The bootlegging killed it.

Can't speak for the others, I'm pretty much a shoot 'em up guy now. Though after looking at my Steam profile I haven't played a game since April 9. Guess I'm getting tired of gaming, getting old. frown

All I really play is Sports games..

The sad part is Madden as of late has no replay ability.. They ruined it for me.. The menu's, the overall feel of it.. Blah..

Back in 07-08, I could play Madden all year long, just using different teams and starting over.. 2k I build a team up, then switch to a new one..

The more they "improve" sports games.. The more they make them unplayable it seems..

For example.. And yes I'm in the minority.. But in NCAA me and my brother would both pick a lower level team, and see who could build theirs up faster, or get a better job..

Now we literally can't do that, unless we do it online.. Even if we're in the same room..

*shrug*

So, after loading almost 5 GB of data for The Evil Within, I managed to squeeze in about a hour of gameplay after the Cavs game yday.

Thus far, that's probably one of the best intros/beginnings of a game in my opinion. We'll see how it continues!

I've heard a lot of good things about The Evil Within'

It's supposed to be the game that brings survival horror back from the dead, no pun intended.

Hoping to see it on the Summer steam sale. I want to play it.

I'm a big fan of the first Resident Evil and Silent Hill games.

I received Witcher 3 as a birthday gift over the weekend, it's fantastic. I've put about 7 hours into it so far and haven't even made a dent. That and Project CARS will be in heavy rotation for the foreseeable future. I'm not sure when I'll touch my Xbox One again.

Give into the temptations bro! Going happen sooner or later, price won't drop likely for awhile anyway.

The Evil Within has this crossbow where you can craft different arrows with, it's pretty cool. I really am liking this. If you a Resident Evil fan, you'll be an Evil within fan!

Just received Bloodborne in the mail. Bought it new off EBay for 40$. Evil Within is number 3 in line for me. Bloodborne will be my primary game and I imagine I will put time in on Killzone: Shadow Fall as well. I think Bloodborne will take me awhile to beat. Evil Within will come in after Killzone is finished.

I'm excited about that one. That and inFamous: Second Son are the only older PS4 games I still want to beat. I think I'm gonna skip that game "Knack"

I really want to play thew new Witcher game.

Don't have an Xbox One or PS4 though.

Need to a get a slightly updated graphics card before I can buy it on steam.

Another game I've only heard good things about. The commercials and game play videos look superb.

It's not so much the price as much as it's shelf space (first world problems, i know) I don't want to ditch my ps3 because there are so many games I have that I love to play/haven't finished.

It's becoming clear that Sony is starting to distance itself from the 3 though. The demos menu is almost bare now.

Really sucks that backwards compatibility is something that is never coming back.

Oh I see. If you have unfinished games, then I'd continue on with the ps3. By the time you catch up, you'll have a plethora of ps4 games that you can get used for cheap.

I needed to upgrade my graphic card to play Witcher 3 as well. Luckily, Newegg has a deal on a lot of new graphics cards where you get Witcher 3 and the new Batman game for free if you order before June! Can save you quite a bit of money.

I just bought a GeForce GTX 970. I was way overdue for an upgrade (especially with Battlefront coming out this year). Haven't really touch my rig in the last 5 years. Luckily, my processor is still pretty good.

I just looked at the specs for Witcher 3.... WOPR couldn't run Witcher 3!

Anyone ever play Hero Siege?

Looking at it now, it's only $3.00 on G2A and it looks extremely fun, tons of good reviews for it.

I actually picked up the new Nascar '15 game last week. Keep in mind i am not a Nascar fan nor do I know anything about racing games really, I am a Mario Kart fan and thats as far as my racing game experience goes.

But I am enjoying the game, start out with a crappy car, work your way up, I like that they have the real drivers, real tracks, real sponsers, real season etc.. I don't think the reviews were great, but i think those are aimed towards more hardcore nascar and racing fans. Its only on last gen though, but it's also only $20.

That's definitely my thinking. I will probably have one by Christmas. To be honest, I have not even played ps4 yet. I've seen all kinds of Youtube videos and stuff, but all my friends are still on ps3.

The other thing is, College Football has been in my rotation of games that I play for like, ever. To not have that option would suck. Maybe I should get a bigger shelf, lol.

I've talked with my cousin who works at EA, and he said he thinks it will be back, but there is just no rush with it. The Madden series is a far better seller.

I have nothing against Madden like a lot of people, but I've just been drawn to the college football game more. You have more teams, more systems, and recruiting is so much fun.

Once all the court stuff is over, you may see someone else jump in. I hope so. I don't care who makes it. A next gen college game would be so awesome.

I think the next step is an "AD" mode..

Like in Madden when you play as an owner..

If I build up Wyoming to be a powerhouse.. I want to be able to update the stadium and all that jazz.. maybe get a new sponsor and create new uniforms..

That and the added disc space would hopefully allow for more schools, FCS type.. being able to move them up etc..

So many options..

JC: Has anyone here played Bloodborne.

This game was cracked up to be really hard, and I can confirm it definitely is. Just the first level is very frustrating. Quite possibly the hardest game I've played in awhile.

Well made, although I wish everything was a little faster (movement wise), I keep trying to hit buttons to dodge enemy attacks/hit them again and end up getting clobbered before my guy does anything.

Very very frustrating.

This game's going to take awhile to figure out. But I get the feeling once I get a system down for defeating my enemies, it'll get real good. Definitely not a game for videogame chumps, Bloodborne makes you earn any success you receive.

Turns out I was only doing the power swing in Bloodborne, if you hit R1 you do a faster swing.

So I was going through the first level the whole time swinging my saw with a slow powerful swing and then running away till I could wind up again.

Game's much easier and enjoyable now. Highly recommended to everyone on here.

I had Bloodborne and traded it in after playing it for a bit. I couldn't get into it. It was almost as if the developer was trying to make the game difficult for the sake of making it difficult. For example, I received a sword from the grave on the first level, but I wasn't allowed to use it. If I own it, why can't I use it. I had to go around karate chopping a werewolf and undead dudes with torches. My character made the motion as if he pulled a sword from his pocket, but his trusty knife-edged chop was apparently his ultimate weapon of choice. It was like Ric Flair invaded the game.

I also didn't like the patterns the enemies used. It became too easy, in my opinion. Just learn their patterns and you can easily defeat an enemy. They swing three times, I jump in and hit, then jump back and let them swing at air three more times. I like games that are more unpredictable. The environment was very cool, but I didn't enjoy playing it.

Sunday I totally nerded out on ps4 and The Evil Within! Not sure how many hours but I covered several chapters. I'd have beaten The Order x2 if I had put as much time into it lol.

It offers just enough weapon selection to satisfy me.awesome. Storyline = awesome. I'd have had no issues picking it up for full retail price!

I don't really see what's holding it up if a game developer can't use the players likenesses. Simply make OSU an A-rated team but no player has the same number, height, weight, speed, etc. The players would be completely random, with maybe a nod to the type of offense or defense they run.

EA were idiots to release all those games where everything about the player's was a spot on match except their names. It was so obvious I'm surprised a lawsuit didn't come earlier.

2K should be jumping on this 12 months ago.

Anyone looking for something fun and simple, check out Hero Siege.

It's a birds-eye-view hack-and-slash RPG game with a very retro look and feel to it. The graphics and scenery are simple, but absolutely satisfying for what the game is.

Cost me a whopping $5.00 through G2A

Played it over the weekend for a few hours, it's really fun. It's supposed to have a really big multiplayer following too.

What really clinched the lawsuit was even though the players weren't "named", after you changed it the announcers would say it..

EA knew there were enough places out there (Operation Sports is wonderful) to do the work.. So they had their announcers record everyone's names anyways..

The customer base for NCAA is much smaller than Madden, and I think there might be some fear of losing a portion of that group becuase they can't have Cardale Jones, and all the other well known guys around the nation. I don't think a lot of people know about the folks who upload complete rosters with adjusted stats and everything, because if you knew that, it wouldn't matter...

For guys like me, who play years and years of dynasty mode, current rosters mean nothing. I spent the first year of my dynasty being a coordinator for a crap program. The next year I take a job as a coordinator at a big school. And by the 3rd year I am the head coach somewhere. So really, most of the actual names have left school, and you have the generated guys anyway.

I'm already in my 6th season..

2 as UMass' Defensive Cordinator

2 as Michigan's DC (1 NC win)

Then I took the Utah HC job and am in my second season there..

I'm going to build them up to a 6* Ultimate Powerhouse.. and then move on to whomever the literal worst team in the country is and start over..

Fun times.

Yup, same here. I wouldn't even bother adding the current names because I'd be on season 5 within a month anyway, and by then, every no-named player would have left school and all players were system calculated.

I still have my NCAA 2004 season saved on my PS3. I haven't played in a year+, but I was in season 20-something when I stopped. I coached Toledo, Middle Tennessee St., Wyoming, and then UCLA (to get back into a Major 5).

I then started a whole new season with a created school from Canada, to see how the recruiting would go. I think I was in the Big Ten (kicked out Indiana). Recruiting was tough but I had my team as a 5-star location within 4-5 seasons.

Good times, good times.

And yes, I can see why the average fan would want to turn on NCAA 2K16 and expect to "Jardale Dones" under center for the Buckeyes (or at least have his number and traits). It just sucks the gaming companies won't give us a college game because those people will be upset.

I don't blame Ed O'Bannon at all. If my likeness was in a game and some company was making millions off it, I'd sue too. Again, EA were idiots.

Ed O'Bannon isn't wrong, but I bet if you asked current, and former college football players, a lot of them wouldn't care if they were represented in the game. I know that if they were to be compensated, someone figured out that it would be 50-100$ per player, which would not really be that much money in the grand scheme of things from EA's end...

I just hope they figure it out because college football is such a big gamem for me. Always has been.

Also because Madden has no replay ability to me anymore..

But I can play NCAA and 2k for months on end.

Hell I was playing NCAA 11 for a while before they had a sale on 14 ($7.49 Download)
