No problem. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to respond to PMs from people who were incredibly confused by my user name.

For many years I've seen the Browns get into 3rd & 20(ish) situations on offense. I said to myself, "Why does this happen to us so darn often (rhetorical)?"
Then I thought, "Wait a minute... Ah-ha! I think I have my new screen name!" and the rest is history.
P.S. Props to everyone who doesn't use dawg as part of their screen name. I can't remember who is who sometimes.

I've gone through two name changes. This is the last one. I swear!
I started on the original board as a freshman in high school with my full name. Since Facebook became so popular and the net is the net, I figured that was dumb for privacy reasons. So I changed to 4yikes2yoshi0 because I used to smoke a lot of weed and my nickname was Yoshi where I worked.
Now? I just like Captain Checkdown. If the game of football were a comic book series, he'd have incredible super powers. Like he'd resisting throwing a skinny post into tight coverage to hit the fullback in the flat for three yards. Or not try to throw a deep cross over a backer and in front of a safety in favor of a tight end on a delayed drag for a two yard gain. No doubt, Captain Checkdown would 100% be my favorite character.
Politicians are puppets, y'all. Let's get Geppetto!

After I moved to the Columbus area from Youngstown (it's been over 20 years now) whenever I talked to any of my friends back there they always asked how things were in "Capital City." So, with a complete lack of imagination ...

It use to be Swishalee.
The reason why was because there was this underground rap group in Houston, Tx called Swishahouse. Paul Wall, Chamillionaire, Mike Jone, Michael Watts, DJ Screw. Slim Thug.
They always came up to cleveland and did shows when I was a teenager. My middle name is Lee, so I just did a play off that.
Then it went from Swishalee, to Swisha, to Swish. Chamillionaire used to by far my fav rapper of all time, then I got older and realized that he wasn't talking about anything except for being extremely clever with word play. My fav freestyle was the "Trendsetter" flow.

I used to Lurk on the old boards, I lurked here for a very long time, I think my first post was mabye 2 years ago.
This may be a shock, but I really hate arguing/debating, I am far too lazy to type and research things. I rather just lurk read other peoples stuff and just be in the "know" for all browns stuff.

DC - because I lived in suburban DC when I signed up and Gainesville, VA, just doesn't have the same ring to it.
DAWG - because we are the Browns.
FAN - do I need to explain that?
All caps because I want people to think I'm yelling at them.
Seriously, I was searching for something, found this site (well, the old one)... and created an account to respond to one person about one thing, figuring that would be about the end of it because I was never into message boards, so I put about 10 seconds of thought into the name...... and here I am.

It's funny how that works. I'm pretty sure I was the same way and for a long time hardly ever posted at all. 1,357 isn't a whole lot but it's way more than I ever anticipated posting here, that's for sure. And there are a couple other boards where I have a much higher post count where I likewise probably never planned on making more than one or two.

Somebody (Vers maybe?) called me a homer during the couch QB battles, and it made laugh.
We're trying to throw the ball downfield and he checked the ball down to Trent Richardson and the Indians on the choice.

I spent 12 years as an Army Ranger, Rangers Lead the Way is the Ranger motto, usually abreviated to RLTW but noone would know that unless they were..lol, and Sua Sponte was the regiment motto, just doesn't sound as cool so I landed on Leadtheway..lol, Also has history behind it as it was born on D-Day and the invasion of Normandy

Picked this as my AIM name freshman year of college because my top choices of G2 (my initials GG) & OhG2 (Ohio G2) were already taken.
Capital stands for the university I attended (Capital U, Bexley, OH) and GG is my initials.
When I signed up for the board GDawg and GGDawg were already taken so I said the heck with it and just went with CapitalGG. Now I use it for everything that needs a "nickname".

My favorite names on this board?
Scottplayersfacemask and Lemmyswart. I like your style. Mine is based on the greatest bassist of all time, Hawkwind's and Motorhead's Lemmy Kilmister. He's got two gigantic warts (you can't see them in my avatar) on his face that female groupies often enjoy spending time with. For a better look at these miracles, take a gander below. They're truly magnificent entities of their own.

My favorite names on this board?
Scottplayersfacemask and Lemmyswart. lol thanks. I've been around since the first board in the early 2000's barely ever posted, just always read what everyone had to say about our team/teams. The first name that I had for a long time was A tribe called Cleveland, because I loved (a tribe called quest) their music. So being a fan of the Cleveland teams...and an Indians fan....thought it was a good fit. Once most of the boards kept shutting down, I came here and saw most of the names that I knew from the old boards, I decided to change to a new name. Wanted it more connected to a player and he was the first one I thought of. Was going to name it after the handlebar stache, but I loved the single bar he use to wear, so went with it. I post a little more often now (not a whole lot more, lol). Most of my posts are light-hearted (mostly bad) jokes and sometimes post about my thoughts. I usually don't get in depth like most of you do about subjects, but enjoy reading the posts. During the season on game days, I spend most of my time talking in the live chatroom.

J/c Yeah these threads pop up from time to time and it's interesting to see what names really are and the meaning to what your perception was prior. A couple over the years, Ndutyme. I always read that as N duty me. in due time. Bigdatut- big Datut. Was really Big D at U T. Some university or other. And of course Daman Shot. Folks used to call him Daman. But then as Vers will tell you lol, it was really The mans Hot.

I joined as OSGuy because I was going to start an Ohio Sports blog and try to be the Ohio to Bill Simmons Regular Sports guy..
That fell through pretty quickly..
And I got tired of Mac calling me "osu"
So I changed it to "ThatGuy" because the military has a campaigned called "Don't be THAT guy"
And I take pride in occasionally being THAT guy.. (Non drinking version)
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

They're truly magnificent entities of their own. How did you pick just one? Top or Bottom? On the official browns site board, I think I was BattleCatBrown because I was stationed on the Kittyhawk when I made the account. I think I might have posted twice there. When I first joined here, I had transferred to the George Washington which didn't have a sweet nickname. Due to various circumstances I was feeling rather lousy at the time, so I went with Scurvy Dawg. I may have had another two posts. I forgot my password or the account got deleted and since I'm no longer in the military I needed a different gimmick. I was a big Game of Thrones fan and messed with the Facebook game for a bit. One of the random names it generated was Gormon Grimm. I often refer to George R. R. Martin as GRRM which I pronounce like Grim. I figured I'd use the name in sort of homage to him. Plus, grim kind of fits my real life persona. I'm a pretty stoic dude and can stare down pretty much anyone. Lucky for all of you, I'm much more optimistic/verbose textually. Not sure why I went with Brown over Dawg.
