In Vers' last post of the last thread, he mentioned that TT is averaging 14 boards per game, which is awesome.
I don't know that this really tells the entire story of the impact TT is having.
When TT goes hard at the offensive glass, he forces 2 very important things: 1. GS has to keep extra guys under the rim to block him out. Usually more than just one. 2. The Cavs other players can get back on defense to slow down GS from running and gunning.
This is a big reason why GS isn't getting many fast break points and the game has become nothing but half court possession-by-possession.
Without it showing up in stats, TT is having a HUGE impact on controlling the pace of this series just as much as LBJ is.
I'm reading a lot about how the Cavs might be a better team without Love and Kyrie... this has become the new cool thing for the pundits to talk about.... I'm not buying it.
I don't think you can survive an entire season, winning the way the Cavs have been playing in this series... LeBron would be warn out, Delly would collapse if he had to chase the other teams best shooter around like this every night for 82 games...
I do hope, I sincerely hope, that Love and Kyrie are both watching this series and seeing how much defense matters and that both buy into the defensive effort once they come back.
Another excellent post. Great point about Love and Kyrie learning from this run.
Oh, and all the videos are simply awesome. Man, they gave me goosebumps.
Was it Excel or Rocket who said can you imagine how the board is going to react if we win tonight? How about all Cleveland fans? Man, I am afraid of getting my hopes up, but we actually have a legit shot.
We don't WIN anything until we have more points, the clock is all zeroes, and it's our 4th win of the series. I won't celebrate anything until those three things happen on the same night.

You're not going to celebrate anything?
I remember 1997 like it was yesterday. We were 2 outs away from a World Series title. As close as we were to a title at that moment, I wasn't preparing my celebration. I knew we needed two more outs.
For this series, we need two more WINS. We're not as close as 1997, yet.
IF we were to win tonight, I'd probably be more nervous for Sunday's game than tonight's game.
“...Iguodala to Curry, back to Iguodala, up for the layup! Oh! Blocked by James! LeBron James with the rejection!”

IF we pull off another miracle and win tonight, this site is gonna go bonkers Sunday night.
I hear you, but man..........I say "enjoy the moment." We might not win it all, but this has been fun and exciting.
I remember watching Shottenheimer's Browns. I loved that team so much. Yes, the losses were agonizing, but the thrill of the season's ride was spectacular.
I remember people complaining and wanting coaches fired because we didn't win it all. I told them to be careful what they wished for. And other for a year or two, it has been misery ever since.
I am celebrating each and every moment of these finals. It's exhilerating to watch. I am so thankful that these guys are rewarding our vested interest in the team and doing it while overcoming long odds. Enjoy it man........we may never be this way again.

Well said, I long for the days of losing AFC championship games.

Now that is hope!
As a "football first" kinda guy, I'd rather it be the Browns who bring home a title first, but 2 things come to mind:
1. ANY title will lift the spirits of NE Ohio sports fans like a steak dinner to a starving man
2. Sometimes, it takes something like this to propel the other teams to do the same.
Interesting to see what an NBA title might do to the motivations of The Tribe and The Pack, you know?
I will, but it's hard to enjoy it as this series progresses. I see potential jubilation or heartache. I will be able to put a loss in perspective the day after, but not before and during the game.
I just want this over, one way or the other (and I'm also following the Blackhawks too - which is easier to enjoy because they've already won 2 in the past 5 years).
“...Iguodala to Curry, back to Iguodala, up for the layup! Oh! Blocked by James! LeBron James with the rejection!”
So nervous. I'll be tracking the end on my phone at work. Sigh. Third shift...
Any thoughts on the David Lee issue? He's taken away our ability to trap Curry in the half-court with the quick decision making on pick and rolls. They're definitely better in the half court when he's on the floor. I'm leaning going big and just bludgeoning them with Mozgov and TT. David Lee at the 5 is still a very small lineup (even with Green), and he doesn't quite half the range to really strike fear into your heart from deep. I think that's the best way to make them pay for that. Mozgov doesn't have to defend the three, can hopefully just clog some of his passing lanes with his length, and can just abuse him with the size advantage offensively.
Tip-off needs to hurry up! They're killing me with these 9:00 PM start times. Tell those dillweeds on the west coast to sprint home to catch the game.
Politicians are puppets, y'all. Let's get Geppetto!
Got a good feeling!! we taking this one at home too!!! i PRAY they double lebron. JR and Shumpert got their sniper scopes cleaned.
