Running backs that catch the ball well is a good safety valve so to speak. We need to have more passing plays to our backs to open things up. JMO

no. i am saying bad QBs make our line look bad and smart QBs make our line look good. mCcown is known for hanging onto the ball too long and he is going to hold on to the ball too long. shaw and johnny were indecisive and made our o-line look far worse than it was.

So McCown is another Weeden? I remember(on another board) fans bashing the O-line when Weeden was the starter. Sack after sack after sack. Then Hoyer comes in and the ball came out quickly and on time. So if McCown is another Weeden in that sense then we just made a huge step backwards at QB. I guess we'ss see this year

I hate to disagree with you, but McCown is the WORST QB in the league other than Hoyer.

One of the biggest knocks is that he holds the ball too long. We've had guys like Timid, BQ, and Weeden before. The OL got slammed for a lot of the QB sacks, when in reality, the qbs were holding the ball too long.

LOL............I remember that. It's one of my all-time favorite quotes, partly because it was so freaking true at the time he said it. grin
