France on alert after terrorists storm factory, behead man

France was on high alert after a worker at a U.S.-based chemical company was beheaded by terrorists bearing ISIS flags early Friday, authorities said.

The attack occurred at approximately 9:50 a.m. local time in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier, northwest of the Alpine city of Grenoble, according to Le Dauphine newspaper. The newspaper reported that two men dressed as deliverymen arrived at the plant, and that one walked into the main office, declared he was a member of ISIS and beheaded someone there. The terrorists reportedly left the severed head hanging from a fence, and set off several gas canisters at the plant.

"The attack was of a terrorist nature since a body was discovered, decapitated and with inscriptions," French President Francois Hollande told a news conference in Brussels, where he was attending an EU summit.

The factory is operated by Air Products & Chemicals, an Allentown, Pa.,-based company that makes industrial gases.

A local official confirmed the nation is on high alert.

"The terrorism threat is at a maximum," Alain Juppe, mayor of Bordeaux, told Fox News.

One man, who authorities said was an extremist known to authorities was under arrest following the attack. There were unconfirmed reports the other was killed.

The attack came months after well-known ISIS social media accounts and propaganda video threatened attacks in the U.S., Belgium and France.

"We advise you that we will come to you with car bombs and explosive charges and we will cut off you heads," stated one such threat that mirrored Friday morning's attack.

Yes, the details are still coming in.

ISIS has produced and released a new video the press isn't reporting on but I have seen it.

These guys are cruel and brutal. The video is a high tech production with underwater cameras and cameras inside vehicles. They were slaughtering Christians by loading them into a car and hitting it with an RPG, Locking Christians into a cage and lowering it with a crane into a swimming pool, and they used explosive rope around the necks of a line of them.

What is up with this group? It was like watching the Games in ancient Rome. Beyond imagination!

well, i've gone over the symptoms and roots of ISIS, but nobody wants to pay attention to anything i say about it.

But if anybody has been to france, Paris specifically, and stayed there for extended time and not just hit the tourist spots.....it's rough out there.

They have a TON of segregated communities. Hoods I myself wouldn't even walk into. It's not good over there. I'm not talking about ISIS, but the muslim/french relationship. I can imagine there's a crap ton of hatred right now.

So, he attempted to contact Al Awalaki, gave out business cards stating he was a "soldier of allah', and shouted Islamist slogans while killing people, and we should determine if he's a terrorist based on the fact that he was 'solo'?

There are two things that the government would do by claiming this was a terror attack over 'workplace violence'. Those killed or wounded in the attack would get federal assistance for medical and survivor pay, and it would put a black mark on the president's administration. I don't think they avoided the determination of terror to prevent paying these people.

ok that's fine.

but you're severely undermining what just happened out there in Tunisia and France. that's why i called your statement juvenile.

if somebody dies in your family, i'll make sure to make a political statement about obama.

I'm not undermining anything that happened in France or Tunisia. I just wanted to know what our government labeled this latest attack.

There's been a logical suggestion that these killers should not get to have their names used whenever the stories are broadcast because it somehow adds celebrity to their identity.

I would be alright if all of these hate crimes were identified as hate crimes, terrorism, murder or deuch-baggery. The effects of the crime are the same. Families of victims don't give a damn why it was done.

I understand any religion (or society) has it's bad apples, but I'm at the point where I think the religion itself is the real issue. When the credo is basically to populate the world with so many Muslims that the world becomes Muslim by default; I have a problem with that.

Imagine your great great grandchildren being born into a Muslim world driven by these cave dwellers and their nomadic tribal beliefs; a world where illiteracy, fear mongering and brutality rule.

I know that many followers (the majority) of Islam do not subscribe to these ideas nor do they support these terrorist. But recent history has proven time and again that this majority is a silent majority and too often let the lunatics run the asylum. Somehow I don't think that will change on a much grander scale of world dominance.

And it saddens me to stoop to this level with anyone's personal beliefs; but this religion in particular needs to go extinct. The sooner the better IMO.

That's not exactly accurate. Because it was labeled as work place violence the surviving family members of Fort Hood aren't awarded the same benefits as someone killed by a terrorist.

you could make the case for terrorism, just like you can make the claim against it.

but it's not combat related whatsoever.

They might be Arabs but they are not Muslim. They are just your typical blood thirsty pirates using the Isis flag as a modern day skull and cross bone banner.

In the Fort Hood incident, a determination of terrorism would have granted the families of the slain certain rights and compensation, and it would have granted the injured the same sort of rights and compensation. The beheading and attempted beheading in Oklahoma were determined to be 'workplace violence', even though the assassin was a recent convert and shouted muslim phrases while trying to saw off a woman's head.

As for France and Tunisia, I want to see what our government is labeling the attack. This helps me to determine which way the political winds are blowing for this growing problem in the world. Other than that, I don't see how it matters to those in France or Tunisia, unless we grant certain money or immigration opportunities for victims of terrorism.

shouting arabic phrases doesn't make you a terrorist.

me and my cousins broke into a turkish bath in instanbul one time to go skinny dipping with chicks, and was yelling in Turkce, i guess that makes us terrorist too.

You are correct, but shouting Arabic phrases that are typically used by terrorists while shooting random people or sawing off their heads makes it much more likely that you are.

I would assume that what they were saying is just as important as what language they were using... assuming you were shouting, "We are going to get us a piece of a** tonight"... and he was shouting about infidels and jihad... then yea, I would say that's a good sign that it was an act of terrorism.... if he was shouting that he really wants a pizza as he was beheading people, then I guess the argument could be made that it wasn't.

ISIS marks anniversary of caliphate amid Ramadan calls for violence

Islamic State is marking its first year as a self-proclaimed caliphate by calling on sympathizers around the world to take up arms and commit acts of terror.

It was on June 29, 2014 that the terrorist army then known as ISIS announced it had established a government run by a medieval version of strict Islam in territory that spanned northern Syria and Iraq.

Since then, the group has metastasized throughout the region, recruiting locals and foreign fighters alike and blazing a trail of death and misery. With the beginning of Ramadan on June 17, the terrorist organization has issued a call for stepped up attacks in the Middle East and around the world.

“The ISIS' Ramadan message specifically preaches that jihad is 10 times more obligatory during Ramadan and that those who die in jihad will be rewarded by Allah ten times as much as during the rest of the year,” said Ryan Mauro, national security analyst and adjunct professor of Homeland Security for the Clarion Project.

“There will be ISIS supporters who have waited to strike until now in order to get the maximum award and those who were considering an attack and will now feel more pressure to actually do it.”

Swish, you're more travelled than I, in regards to your comment earlier about the segregation in France...

Are they segregated because the French refused to assimilate Muslim immigrants? I've kind of always heard the opposite in that many of these areas of Europe have become segregated because the home govt's had little to no requirements for them to assimilate, so in effect the came and set up their own gig.

Any thoughts or info?

it's complicated, IMO.

to start this off, let me say that if someone wishes to move to a different country, they better start learning the language, even if they decide to only start once they get there.

also, cultural difference. good god man, it's like the moment you cross the border of any country in europe, EVERYTHING changes. even the damn scenery. For example, Germany has a lot of hills and mountain areas, and trees everywhere you cross the border to France, straight up less trees, a lot of flat farm ground, then of course an entirely different language.

anyway, It's not so much that the French refuses to assimilate Muslim immigrants, it's that these people (talking first-second generations) clearly wanted to escape the crap country they was coming from.....but then they're demanding that the French government cater to THEIR culture.

What's that sound like to you? hispanics in the south. gotta press 1 for english....

And it's not just France, its all over Europe. Hell, i get pissed off at my OWN people(Turkey). there's a HUGE population of Turks in Germany....and man....so many issues. The Turkish people, and most other arab muslims that move all over Europe, left Turkey because the Turkish government is heavily influenced by the West( not west europe, MURIKA!!!), so we had a little social revolution where we wasn't tolerating these old school muslims with these honor killings anymore, at least in Western Turkey. So...Turkish people that wanted to practice their religion moved to Central and Western Europe, because countries like Germany have Religious freedom laws.

Thats why there's so many problems with Muslims in europe. Religious freedom laws(their versions, whatever they're called) pretty much allows Sharia Law, and Governments are struggling to control it.

then here's another big problem, because those are just the immigrants that moved there LEGALLY. the refugee's? good god....it's bad.

if you pay attention to international news in the slightest, there's a lot of anti-immigration protest going on all over Europe.

And i agree with that. for example, the EU is trying to force certain countries to take in a set number of refugee's in each country. Well, it's funny because they are trying to push them on countries with craptastic economies(Hungary, Slovakia) while the countries that have the best economy are taking in the least.

And yes, the requirements from Home countries are a absolute joke. I'm not going to get into why refugee's come to Europe(we all know why, terrible situations), but even for legal immigration....it's just really minimum.

for example, Germany, and German dialect countries are STILL battling the racial stigmas from other european nations of being straight up racist, so is Russian speaking countries because of WW2, so none of them want to turn down immigrants because they'd be labeled with xenophobia.

like i said....it's complicated.

Oh yea...Gypsy populations are absolutely terrible too. I'm sure you heard of them. They're actually called Roma's. They have no country, they come from the middle east and eastern european nations, a lot of them are muslims as well.

I've kind of always heard the opposite in that many of these areas of Europe have become segregated because the home govt's had little to no requirements for them to assimilate, so in effect the came and set up their own gig.

Any thoughts or info?
France, Algeria and Algerian immigrants have a pretty nasty history.
