It was about the right to remain economically sound by using human beings as machines instead of giving them dignity. I'd hate to be known as a rebel who supports such an awful idea. But you are ok with supporting a region that had 8 and 10 year old boys working above coal breaking chutes until the early 1900s where one slip you would fall to your death and paying them about a nickle a week? Yea, they had the moral high ground when it came to treating people with dignity.. but hey, the kids were at least free to go home at night... if they survived. I'd hate to be known as somebody who was proud to be from that part of the country.

You're never this bad in debate. DC, I'd like to think you know me somewhat. Would a union lover like me actually support child labour?

Because I oppose slavery means I support child labour? Nope, purely because you seem to think the north had some moral high ground on which to stand... and you brought up the word "dignity"... did the Chinese building the railroads have dignity? Did the Irish? Did the kids in the coal mines? Did the kids in the factories? Did they have dignity? Had the south invaded the north to fight for the dignity and rights of the Chinese, the Irish, and the children, which side would you have been on? Would a union lover like me actually support child labour? Nope, does me having a rebel flag on my car make me a racist?

It sounds funny. 3) No. It makes you ignorant. But that's not for me to care about.

Both sides had their issues, but at least the United States evolved past child labor. The Confederacy never evolved past slavery.

They had many years to evolve from Slavery. How'd evolving, or lack thereof, go for the Confederacy?

3) No. It makes you ignorant. But that's not for me to care about. So anyone who sees the Rebel flag in a different light than you do. Who has a different meaning for flying that flag than the message you perceive it to mean is "ignorant". Got it. Tolerance indeed.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

1) they did have a moral high ground on this, one, issue. If you ignore how they were building their own economy I guess they did. 3) No. It makes you ignorant. But that's not for me to care about. At least I know where I stand.

Who has a different meaning for flying that flag than the message you perceive it to mean is "ignorant". Got it. Tolerance indeed. I understand it. I know the morphing that has been done. I don't agree with it. I don't agree with the Southern Pride movement at all... Or at least giving it a banner. I think it creates an unnecessary divide in America. I think it's an affront to Civil Rights in America. While the flag may mean " Southern Pride" to many, every act towards racial equality has seen that flag waved in protest of equality. That's why I find it ignorant. To ignore the history of the flag. That said, I really don't care. DC, of anyone else can wave the flag. As far as problematic behaviour, that ranks on the lowest priorities.

Dignity can only be given to the dead, and done by giving them the proper send off. After that, it is what a person makes for himself.
