The wideout said he plans to fill the No. 1 role vacated by the suspended Josh Gordon. "When Josh was here he was the touchdown man and I'm here to fill his shoes,'' Bowe told Northeast Ohio Media Group during minicamp. "It's my job to do that in this offense and I believe I can do that." Bowe was part of a Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver corps that did not score a single touchdown last season. We've all seen articles like this before and then nothing happens. I really don't have high hopes for Bowe. It worries me that neither of our 2 starting WR are known for getting separation. Both of them have some strength in body positioning against the CB a la what Hartline did against Skrine in 2013. I would be more okay with that style if we had a QB that could consistently hit those kinds of targets.

Well Josh only scored 14 TDs in 3 seasons 35 games. So I wouldn't consider him a TD maker. His Pro Bowl season he scored 9. Granted our QB situation was not good but still I guess after a season where he had little or no opportunities to score Bowe welcomes the role of 9 TDs. Hope to see double digits from the guy!

If or until he's reinstated, I don't car about him. I still care about his future in Cleveland...greatly. When I saw him play he was one of the best WR I've ever seen wear a Browns uniform. I want to see that again...for a long time. I'm hoping he can get another chance here and put other issues to bed. At this point, that's a long shot but the kid has talent I prefer be utilized here.

I'm hoping he can get another chance here ... I wonder if the FO thinks that way also. If he can stay "clean", it may be worth it. If they didn't believe this, wouldn't they have released him (or can they while under suspension)?

Not only did Gordon utterly suck last year - when he finally got to play - he wasn't here for most of last year in the first place. He's also not going to be here for all of this coming year.
Bowe could half-ass his routes and he would STILL be better than a guy that does everything he can to NOT get on the field, and when he does he's just going through the motions.
Last year, after he was *finally* allowed to play, Gordon was very clearly living on the hype of his rookie season, and he very clearly had no work ethic. He was out of shape and had absolutely no clue at all on where to be or where to go. He caused more problems for the offense than the defenses we played simply because our "genius" OC of last year was enamored with the guy and kept calling plays where he was one of the primary reads. Add in Hoyer also being fixated on him and Gordon was most definitely a textbook case of subtraction by addition.
If you can't get on the field, and when you do you have no idea what you're doing... .ANYONE can replace you.

TRADE BAIT ! Why? Because it's a Win-Win situation for us. His value will never be lower than right now (unless he screws up again), so you can't trade him. If you cut him, he can then sign with anyone and we get nothing for our troubles. If we hang onto him, however, we stand the best chance of cashing in. He knows that his next misstep puts him out of the league for good... so, I'd expect him to be a different Josh going forward. He's completely out of 2nd & 3rd chances, and I believe he knows it. So, if he comes back and is focused and can apply himself, we cash in AND we look like the good guys for sticking by him all through the tough times. If he falls on his face, oh well, we move on and we've lost nothing. No matter how it falls, the team does Ok. Hopefully, for him AND US, he gets it together and comes back - in shape and with a chip on his shoulder - and ready to work. He's got a ton of free time to work out.

It did seem like JG hurt us more than he helped when he came back. Brian Hoyer and the rest of his teammates thought he was ready to go; he obviously wasn't.

What led you to the conclusion that the OC was enamored with the guy and Hoyer was fixated on him. Not true Gordon is still on the payroll just suspended, the other is you are stating Hoyer was a bad QB for fixating on one player and Shanny was a bad OC for being enamored with one player and letting Gordon keep the Browns out of the playoffs.  I'll take your word that neither were good.

Please explain why you would think this. I agree with Pblack.. My reasons are simple, Gordon wasn't ready to play yet we inserted him. He made one boneheaded play after another (or so it appeared) and I think in the end, ended up costing us games. JMO, but I believe I'm right.
