The Government is warning us all that this Fourth of July week there is the potential for attacks on U.S. citizens here and abroad.

Be vigilant, be aware of your surroundings. See something suspicious, report it. See an unattended bag or box, get away from it and report it.

Be safe fellow Americans, they are coming for us.

Let's just keep our fingers crossed that Trump gets elected so he can implement his secret foolproof plan to wipe out ISIS.

It sure as hell is complicated! lol saywhat

I appreciate the info! Yeah, I know in the last couple years France has tried to 'crack down', but it seems like they are focusing on the wrong thing like banning burkas. I guess that's what happens when you try to play catch up?

Burkas....

i'm going to be honest.(inc. Turkish and military experience that gonna piss people off), I don't like Burkas, Hjiabs, whatever. it's beyond archaic. I mean, Utah and Idaho have those chicks walking around in home made dresses like they straight off the pilgrim boat, but that's child's play to what Islam does with women.

It's also a massive security risk. muslim women absolutely practice jihad, and get paid more then me when it comes to bombing, because worldwide, women are treated ass the lesser gender, thus having more damage in a case of terrorism as NOBODY suspects them .

They are notorious for hiding bombs in grenades. But here's the correlation: if you ever been to France, (Paris the main example) they have actual soldiers all over the place. not just police, but also military personnel. They bring the tactics they learned downrange, it and gets enforced at the lowest level(civilian population in Paris). So there has always been a massive distrust of muslims, but 2001 plus the recent bombings has encourage that fear.

it's complicated.

50 soldiers killed in ISIS attack on Egyptian Army's Sinai checkpoints

Islamic militants on Wednesday unleashed a wave of simultaneous attacks on Egyptian Army checkpoints in the restive northern Sinai Peninsula, killing at least 50 soldiers, country officials said.

The coordinated assaults, which included up to 70 militants, came a day after Egypt's president pledged to step up the battle against Islamic militants and two days after the country's state prosecutor was assassinated in the capital, Cairo. The BBC reported that the clashes are ongoing, with militants reportedly overtaking a main police station.

The officials said scores of militants were besieging Sheikh Zuweid's main police station, shelling it with mortars and rocket-propelled grenades and exchanging fire with dozens of policemen inside. Reuters reported that militants planted bombs along a road between the police station and an army camp to deter reenforcements.

"We are under siege, the militants didn't storm inside it so far, or else I wouldn't be speaking to you right now," Col. Mohamed Soliman told Daily News Egypt from inside the police station

Al Jazeera, citing a local news, reported that ambulances had trouble reaching those injured due to the crossfire.

The United States strongly condemned the attacks.

White House spokesman Ned Price said Wednesday's assault is a terrorist attack and that the U.S. "stands resolutely" with Egypt. He added that the U.S. extends condolences to the relatives of those who died, as well as to the government and the Egyptian people.

The Israeli military says it has closed the country's border crossings with Egypt and Gaza in the wake of the assault, without elaborating.

The scope and intensity of the attacks underscored the resilience and advanced planning by the militants, who have for years battled Egyptian security forces in northern Sinai but intensified their insurgency over the past two years just as the government threw more resources into the drawn-out fight. Israel closed two border crossings after the attack and announced its defense forces were monitoring the events.

SUFFER THE CHILDREN: 74 kids killed by ISIS for Ramadan 'crimes'

ISLAMIC MILITANTS put an estimated 74 kids to death during a bloody upheaval in the Middle East, including two this week who were crucified in Syria for allegedly not properly fasting during Ramadan.

US reportedly blocks Arab allies' attempts to deliver weapons to Kurds fighting ISIS

The U.S. has reportedly blocked any attempts by Middle East allies to fly weapons to the Kurds fighting the Islamic State in Iraq.

The Telegraph reports that U.S. allies say President Obama and other Western leaders, including Britain’s David Cameron, aren’t showing leadership over the escalating ISIS crisis in Iraq, Syria and throughout the Middle East.

These allies are now willing to “go it alone” in giving heavy weaponry to the Kurds, even if it means defying Iraq and the U.S. who want all weapons to be funneled through Baghdad, according to the newspaper.

High level officials from Gulf and other states have told The Telegraph that plans to persuade Obama to arm the Kurds directly have failed. The Senate voted down an amendment for the U.S. to bypass Baghdad and send weapons to the Kurdish fighters.

The officials told the paper they are looking for ways to bypass U.S. permission to give the Kurdish fighters weapons.

“If the Americans and the West are not prepared to do anything serious about defeating ISIL, then we will have to find new ways of dealing with the threat,” a senior Arab government official told The Telegraph. “With ISIL making ground all the time we simply cannot afford to wait for Washington to wake up to the enormity of the threat we face.”

The Peshmerga have gotten support from the Kurds to drive the Islamic State back from Erbil. However, they are doing so with makeshift weapons. The Telegraph says weapons have been bought by a number of countries throughout Europe to aid the Kurds, but U.S. commanders are blocking the arms transfers.

The Kurds also have said that the main part of their plight is that Iraqi forces have abandoned so many weapons in the face of ISIS’ attacks, they are now fighting American-made weaponry with Soviet-style equipment.

The paper reports that at least one Arab nation is considering arming the Peshmerga without U.S. permission.

Other Gulf nations have been visibly irritated by the lack of direction from the U.S. in the fight, according to the paper. Other members of the coalition have identified clear militant targets but then have been blocked by U.S. vetoes from engaging them.

One Gulf leader went as far as saying, “there is simply no strategic approach.”

As the U.S. and Britain mull whether to take the next step in the war against ISIS, the terror group continues to commits acts of savagery. A new report from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights revealed that more than 3,000 people have been killed at the hands of ISIS since its emergence last summer.

ISIS has also ramped up his violence after calls for more attacks during Ramadan. On June 30, 11 workers from al-Miadin endured live crucifixion and were forced to wear signs saying "70 lashes and to be crucified for 1 day for breaking the fast in Ramadan."

The Islamic State was also responsible for an attack on Egyptian army checkpoints that left at least 64 soldiers said, according to country officials.

If US officials are blocking regional players from aiding the Kurds, then this is about as stupid as it could be, imho.

For years, I've been asking the question: "When will we see these people step (tf) up and start policing their own?"

Now, it appears that some are trying to do just that. More power to them, I say.I wouldn't mind seeing us withdraw further from all these 'skirmish of the day' fights that have been going on for thousands of years. The fewer American lives and resources wasted over there the better.

But to actively BLOCK such attempts? WTF kinda sense does THAT make?

It's largely because we have an ally in Turkey, who hates the Kurds, has a large Kurdish population, and who worry that the Kurds will take those weapons from that battle, and turn against them next.

Exactly.

..And exactly why I think we need to get (tf) out of the entire region. Outside of oil, the only other thing that they have to offer the rest of the world is sand... and batzaszz crazy MF'ers.... everywhere you look.

I've been saying this for over thirty years: NO GOOD CAM COME FROM US BEING IN THE MIDDLE EAST.

There is a history of sectarian tribalism in that region that trumps any and ALL other ideology... and that way of life dates back over 3000 years.

The Middle East is now, and always has been- a Black Hole for Modern Ideology. IMHO, America's smartest global policy is to totally divest itself from this region- and treat it like a 'quarantine zone.'

Wait to see signs of (true) reform before we engage in ANY relations whatsoever. Let them hash it out among themselves, until they decide, once and for all that they want to join the Modern World.

At present, they ALL live in the 15th c. No 21st c. country can negotiate such dynamics.

It was a failed policy in the 1940's... and it's no better now.

Screw'em.

The rest of the world is better off without having to deal with ANY of them.... and I'm including Israel in that mix, too. I'd rather support Puerto Rico than Israel as our 51st state.

U.S. law enforcement thwarted plots timed to July 4

Quote:
Washington (CNN)FBI Director James Comey said Thursday that the bureau thwarted ISIS terrorist plots linked to the Fourth of July holiday that were intended "to kill people in the United States."

He would not discuss the number or nature of the plots, but earlier Thursday, U.S. officials told CNN that the thwarted plots included targets "coast to coast," and in fitting with calls by ISIS to attack in any way possible, they were unsophisticated, relying on guns, knives and other weapons.

Also fitting with recent patterns, investigators believe the plots, though not directed by overseas terror groups providing specific means of attack or specific targets, were "enabled" by actors abroad, including recruiting the suspects and encouraging them to carry out attacks on U.S. soil.

No further details were immediately available about how the plots were thwarted.

Speaking to reporters at the J. Edgar Hoover Building in Washington, Comey said the FBI is seeing a "mix" of ISIS fighters directing and inspiring people in the U.S. to launch an attack.

"Sometimes there is a suggestion from an ISIS fighter to do something specific" such as target a certain location, he said.

Comey called this evolution in the current terrorism threat "crowdsourcing terrorism," and he said it typically begins over social media before the conversation "goes dark."

"Dozens" of people in the U.S. are communicating with ISIS terrorists overseas through encryption, he added.

He explained the process as beginning with someone who follows an ISIS fighter on Twitter, and then the conversation moves to direct messaging where information is exchanged to move the conversation, to a more secure app where it then "disappears."

In the last four weeks, the FBI has arrested more than 10 people who are tied to ISIS, and Comey said some of them were communicating with ISIS through encryption. Comey said ISIS's influence online is "living proof that social media works" and that what the U.S. is doing to degrade ISIS online is "clearly not enough."

In testimony before a Senate panel on Wednesday, Comey said ISIS has 21,000 English-language followers on Twitter now, turning that in to a fertile recruiting tool.

With this use of social media, Comey said, recruits have a "devil in their pocket all day long that says 'Kill, kill, kill.'"

The news about the plots is significant because of the increased security measures federal, state and local officials took in the days leading up to the holiday. The FBI, Department of Homeland Security and National Counterterrorism Center outlined in a memo several weeks ago that listed the holiday weekend and several upcoming Prophet Mohammed drawing events as possible targets for attacks.

A CNN analysis of Justice Department records and court documents last month found that at least 49 alleged ISIS supporters had been charged by U.S. authorities since the start of 2015.

That number did not include Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi, who died during an attack at a Mohammed cartoon contest in Texas in May, or Usaamah Rahim, who was killed in Massachusetts last month during a federal terror investigation.

In the Texas cartoon attack, neither Simpson or Soofi made it into the city's Curtis Culwell Center after being shot dead by an overmatched Garland police traffic officer who was part of the on-site security contingent. That officer was wounded but survived. An Arizona man was indicted last month for allegedly providing guns to, shooting with and talking through the plan to carry out the attack.

Rahim was fatally shot by police after he allegedly wielded a military knife at counterterrorism officers. The FBI said tapped phone conversations support its claim that Rahim was going to carry out a knife attack against police at any moment, which is why the joint anti-terror team of federal and local officers confronted him when it did.

Cedar Point had a weapons checkpoint on the 4th. It was the first of its kind from any of the years.

The wife and I went to a special place we like for the Fourth.
Everyone there, tens of thousands of people, 7 towns, all Lily White. Saw 4 Confederate Flags driving into the area. Had a happy and safe time with great food and fireworks. Kids running around laughing and playing. Very clean and well kept neighborhoods.

Sometimes I read your posts and think "this guy is a conservative like Popeye's the Pope". WTF ... "lily white"? What is that? You're the Manchurian poster, pretending to be the opposite of what you really are, aren't you? I will not be painted with the same brush that you present as a conservative point of view. Just like I won't be painted with the same brush that Razorthorns presents as "Christian". You guys are acting on agendas that have NOTHING to do with conservatism or Christianity.

Get that weak ____ out of here.

As much as I can't stand the black people on this forum posting their race baiting victimized anti-whitey posts on this forum, I equally can't stand your racist propaganda that helps nobody or anything. Please grow up and realize that whites aren't the only people on the planet with lives to live.

Somebody is gonna have to explain to me what was racist about my post. The place was just as I described. Call names later, point out the error of my ways first.

It's not like Blacks or whatever were not allowed or something, there are no Blacks living there!

Phil and I have had our differences, but I don't believe he would resort to that type of tactic (ghosting). He's obviously smart enough to present his point of view directly, and without subterfuge.

i think what people are trying to say is the fact that you felt the need to point out that it was an all-white area wasn't needed.

as if to say if it wasn't, then the experience would've been diluted.

The fact that you felt the need to point out that everyone there was white is odd. Couple that with the fact that you said this as if it were a positive, and that directly after this you talked about Confederate flags flying, and you have a really racist comment.

Swish, the stinkin' place was Lily! ISIS would have stood out from 25 miles away. It was a very safe feeling. Sorry for the offense but I was just telling it the way it was. Too many sensitive people around here maybe?

The fact it was all White is what made the story interesting.
The Flags and the fact it was up North, interesting. Jeez

If an alien with no knowledge of earth read this forum, they would think all blacks live in the ghetto, in poverty, and are underschooled slaves who can't get jobs and who are abused by the white police. I live in a middle class suburban black neighborhood so I know this is not the case. I get tired of reading the victim threads over and over repeated ad nauseum.

Wow... I didn't know that. That must have took forever to carry out, but well worth it.

Not many details of their so-called plans are known yet, but it said "coast-to-coast" so makes ya think twice at least.

Its hard for the nation's racial divide to heal when there seems to be no shortage of individuals whose sole motivation seems to be to constantly rip the scab off the wound. I won't presume to speak for Eve, but that's what I think she was referring to.
