PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Bill Cosby testified in 2005 that he got Quaaludes with the intent of giving them to young women he wanted to have sex with, and he admitted giving the sedative to at least one woman and "other people," according to documents obtained Monday by The Associated Press.

The AP had gone to court to compel the release of the documents; Cosby's lawyers had objected on the grounds that it would embarrass their client.

The 77-year-old comedian was testifying under oath in a lawsuit filed by a former Temple University employee. He testified he gave her three half-pills of Benadryl.

Cosby settled that sexual-abuse lawsuit for undisclosed terms in 2006. His lawyers in the Philadelphia case did not immediately return phone calls Monday.

Cosby has been accused by more than two dozen women of sexual misconduct, including allegations by many that he drugged and raped them in incidents dating back more than four decades. Cosby, 77, has never been criminally charged, and most of the accusations are barred by statutes of limitations.

Cosby resigned in December from the board of trustees at Temple, where he was the popular face of the Philadelphia school in advertisements, fundraising campaigns and commencement speeches.

welp, time to take his money and go move somewhere else. he's done, and rightfully so.

If there are any cases where the statute of limitations hasn't expired, they should charge him if they have the evidence.

I would be shocked that this would be coming out at all if they hadn't all expired.

Sincerely disappointed in this guy, to say the least. Used to be revered as the epitome of being a stand-up guy (no comedic pun intended)... now, he's just a joke. A rapist, and a joke.

I was under the impression his career was 99.99% over when these allegations surfaced. But sure, it's now 100%.

I hope he's charged and spends the rest of his life in jail, if true.

His show attendance had been taking a hit when the allegations resurfaced, but people were still going to see him. I can't imagine anyone paying to hear him speak now.

Very sad. I always looked up to Cosby as someone who promoted a very solid agenda for young kids ..... and then to find this out .... very disgusting .... very disappointing, and very sad.

What's sad is the guy is 77. Who knows how many more years he has to live. He didn't get caught until his life was just about over. That's sad. No punishment will fit the crime now.

Reading through some of this deposition, it seems like several media outlets had a hand in sweeping a lot of this under the rug. Publications spiked stories about Cosby's deeds in return for "exclusive" interviews with him and things like that.

You know, this pig's show is still on the air, but they kill Dukes of Hazard in a split second because there's a Confederate flag on a car on a show that, seeing I grew up watching it religiously, had no pinch of racism or anything. Just because the symbol.

Well Cosby is now a symbol, a disgusting one, so WHY does his show not be subjected to the same stupidity and cry babying that Duke got?

Sounds like a classic case of Stockholm Syndrome.

Seriously? His wife is ok with her husband drugging and raping women? I wonder if he did the same to her, and yes, making her a case of Stockholm Syndrome.

For me, it's personally sad. My great aunt was dying from cancer and he was in town for a show. One of my cousins arranged for a backstage meet and greet for her whole family. He was kind, funny and charming (according to my cousin). Took photos, spoke at length with my Aunt, even shed tears with the family over her impending death.

After my Aunt Diane passed, Bill Cosby was back in town and my cousin went to his show again, and again she had a meet and greet with him. He remembered my Aunt and the whole conversation with her. (He repeated parts of it back to Jen). This has completely RUINED that beautiful story of the end of my Aunt's life. Luckily, she didn't live to see how he's tarnished her "Make A Wish" memory (and I know she wasn't granted a Make a Wish, that is for children - just how I describe the meet n greet)

Edit: Well, maybe some men were allowed to rape African Americans back in the day, but that's a different context, discussion, and whole other subject.

No cry of "racism" would fall from a rational individual over the smoking guns on the Cosby allegations.

Such a sad thing to have happen. I met Mr. Cosby on several occasions and he was sharp and very pleasant. He apparently had a dark side none of us ever saw.
