This is the title of your first article....

Quote:
GOP leaders fear damage to party’s image as Donald Trump doubles down

The image of the republican party has been in a downward spiral for a while BECAUSE of those republican leaders and they have done nothing to stem that tide. The fact that a guy like Trump can rise to this level of popularity is more a result of their lack of leadership than the driving influence that is smearing their image.

They have done a horrible job of maintaining any kind of message that sticks to legit conservative values and showing unity behind that message. They have done a horrible job of remaining consistent. They have done a horrible job of actually putting forth positive ideas and plans. They have done a horrible job of elevating any of the young republicans in congress/senate/state houses to prominence to put them in a position to run for higher office. It's just been constant negativity, in-fighting, mixed messages, power struggles, and trying to defeat Obama with procedural moves rather than actually winning the debate... In short, they just look like a bunch of angry old men who are out of touch with the rest of the country and the world... and they crush any rising Republican who dares to say anything close to what I just said...

They need a make-over in the worst possible way... white guys over 55.. out. Need new blood, some people with some fresh ideas to bring the party into the 21st century... and I think you can do that without abandoning what real conservatives still believe.

I wish guys like Kasich and Rubio got more attention.

In fairness, Kasich just announced yesterday.

And, by the same token, I'm hearing "Kasich doesn't have the name recognition."

Who cares about name recognition? (other than Jeb Bush and hillary).

Well obama didn't have name recognition at first either.

but it just seem like that matters the most on the GOP side.

and that sucks cause i think Kasich would do a really good job. Rubio as well.

Yes, the Republican party spends a lot more time talking about who is the most "electable" instead of who is the best candidate.

He gave the keynote speech at the DNC in 2004. That's pretty big.

They can't because the blowhards suck all of the oxygen out of the room so nobody pays any attention to the guy with decent ideas.

Like I said, until they can unite behind a reasonable candidate, they are going to struggle... and as long as guys like Trump, who is willing to say anything just to stay in the news, are in the race, the actual idea guys will be ignored.

Look at Obama/Hillary.... they took their shots at each other, the democratic party was divided in who they supported but there was NEVER ANY DOUBT that the party was going to come together behind whichever one emerged... The Republicans (as individuals) just seem so damned bullheaded that they would rather go down with the ship supporting "their guy" and his 30 year old ideas rather than get behind a single guy (or lady) that could represent the party well... The two you mentioned, yes, I would like to see and hear a lot more from them... I'd love to have the Ds had 2 elections ago. Have those two go head to head, then have the party rally behind the victor.

couple things:

1. His form during the swing with the baseball bat was terrible.
2. Why couldn't he just take the simcard out?

Cute.. I do wish the other candidates would ignore Donald, stop responding to his incendiary comments, stop taking the bait, stop doing your part to keep him in the media spotlight.....

And it's sad because I think Donald has some decent ideas.. but he is just not Presidential material.

That wasn't a baseball bat, it was a samurai sword in it's sheath. Also, his golf swing was worse.

His golf swing didn't start out that bad, just wearing a suit and dress shirt he had a very abbreviated back swing. He's about a 13 handicap.

And no, it wasn't a baseball bat and whoever hung it for him didn't do him any favors, that phone was up and out of the strike zone.. at about arm pit height. No way to get a good swing on that.

He started that swing with his wrists. First two feet and that swing was toast.

Quinnipiac: Hillary Losing to GOP Rivals in 3 Swing States

Three 2016 Republican candidates — Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio and Scott Walker — are ahead of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in matchups in the key swing states of Colorado, Iowa and Virginia, a new poll has found.

According to a Quinnipiac poll conducted July 9-20 of registered voters:
In Colorado, Clinton is at 38 percent compared to 46 percent for Florida Sen. Marco Rubio; she's at 36 percent compared to 41 percent for former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush; and she also gets 38 percent in a matchup with Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who has 47 percent support.
In Iowa, Clinton has 36 percent compared to 44 percent for Rubio; Clinton has 36 percent compared to 42 percent for Bush; and in a race against Walker, Clinton is at 37 percent compared to 45 percent.
In Virginia, Clinton is at 41 percent in a matchup with Rubio, who has 43 percent; she has 39 percent in a matchup with Bush, who gets 42 percent; and Clinton is at 40 percent compared to 43 percent for Walker.
The results for Clinton compare to an April poll, in which she was ahead in a number of matchups.

The poll also found that in each of the three states, by large margins, voters said Clinton was not honest and trustworthy, and does not care about their needs and problems.

ABC News tonight said the Clinton Camp remarked all the attention
is on the Republicans now and her numbers would pick up when the
attention returns to her.
