[quote] Lots of acid in coffee... "jerry garcia" flavor? Yeah it gives me reflux too, but hell everything does....

Am going to attempt to stop drinking coffee for the next week or two, just to see if it positively helps out my IBS-C at all or not.
Hot damn! I only drink a cup or two every day, but I'm already missing it and I haven't even started day one yet!!!

Update: I just had to actually throw out my instant coffee. I tried just having one cup a week but I cannot do it. One cup a week turns into one cup every other day, then almost every day.
Coffee wrecks havoc on me 'down there' (I won't get into specifics!).
This is the second time I've thrown out a full container of coffee. I love it, but my body doesn't.

I'm an iced tea addict myself. I make my own in a good southern style, although I make it kind of dark. My doctor was worried about my caffeine intake, and told me I could only have one cup a day. I bought a 64oz. cup. Problem solved.

I'm so bad with it that I even make my ice cubes out of tea. That way, my tea never gets watered down.

I've gone from a pot a day (12 cups), to less than a half a pot a day.
I don't think I feel anything different. Been doing it for 3 months or more. Yesterday, I didn't have any coffee.
It's weird - to go from what I had been drinking, to what I do now. Doing it for 3 or more months, but the last few days, I've had a headache that shows up in mid afternoon. That can't be coffee, can it?

Yes, it often happens to those who cut out or cut back on caffeine consumption. Very common.

If you are tryin' to quit drinking coffee and need your motivation back, you could always try taking one or two 12 hour non-drowsy cold relief tablets, the kind made with pseudoephedrine and that you now have to get at a pharmacy. Bring your ID.
They'll definitely help replace the energy the caffeine used to give you. I take them every blue moon, before I work out.

Try cold showers. They are a better pick-me-up than any cup of coffee I've ever had. There are other benefits as well.

They always get a little grumpy at work when I strip down to use the emergency shower.
