If you've got an extra hour on your hands and are a Buckeye fan check out this video. If you've got a way to watch it on your TV (Chromecast, etc) do it!
that's funny ... the game against Alabama was just on last night and I watched the whole thing. First time since watching it in January ... what a win
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."
The biggest and scariest thing that stood out to me this season was the talent gap between Ohio State and everybody else not named Alabama. Honestly, nobody else comes anywhere close. Just look at the Wisconsin game. Hell, look at the Oregon game. Oregon forced 4 turnovers and lost by 21.
A great coach can hide and fix flaws, but you need 4 and 5 star thoroughbred athletes.
You and I don't always agree, but you really seem to be one of the most objective posters on this board. I respect that.
Thank you. I try to keep my emotions and personal preferences in check as best I can when it comes to stuff like this.
I think this year you have OSU alone at the top in the preseason... Alabama is the only team that comes close in across-the-board talent but they have a big ???? at QB so it's hard to put them with OSU until we see what they have there.... then a couple dark horses like USC and Auburn who could sneak in... and beyond that... not a lot in terms of competing for a national championship...
Last year at this time no one thought OSU was a serious candidate to win it all. Ohio State is the team to beat and teams like Alabama, Auburn, TCU, Oregon should be contenders. Some teams that have the talent to make a serious run.
Michigan State - They return a top QB with a great defense. Will need to replace a very good running back.
Georgia - Has as many top level talent as anyone Ohio State and Alabama. A serious run game. If they can find a QB will be tough to beat.
LSU - Another team that can match Ohio State and Alabama with top level talent. Another great run game. Just like Georgia needs to find a QB to contend.
USC - Offense should be very explosive. If they can play defense this year they will be a contender.
Oklahoma - Another team with as much top level talent as any team in the country. Another great run game. Need consistancy from the QB and improved defense.
Our Midwest farm boys sure looked pretty fast against that good ol SEC speed.
I never doubted Urban as a coach. He's a brilliant motivator and he knows what buttons to push. He also recruits extremely well. Also does a phenomenal job with QBs (especially this year). Those were 100% facts everybody could agree on.

Last year at this time OSU was the #5 ranked team in the country (USA Today had them as high as #2) primarily because they had lost their starting QB and nobody knew what to expect. They had a lot of youth and a big ??? at QB.. but everybody knew they were very talented. It's not exactly like they came out of nowhere... When confidence really fell in Ohio State was after the VT loss.

Yup.
Everybody knew OSU had talent, but they were inexperienced. I'm referencing before Braxton's injury. After he got hurt and we lost to Va Tech is when people felt we were done.

Key word, which is now in the past tense.
OSU would beat Bama this year if they play.
If they lined up and played right now Ohio State would probably win by a a fairly large margin. What make college football so interesting is how will teams look come January. In August last year I feel Alabama would have beaten OSU by a fairly large margin but come January OSU was a much different team.
This Buckeye team just keeps getting better and better under Urban Meyer ...

John 3:16 Jesus said "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
The best trait that makes Urban elite from other coaches- He adapts. I hate coaches that just stick with the same washed up schemes and philosophies. Urban uses old school principles but adds a more modern day influence to them.

Didn't Oregon lose its best CB and WR shortly before the playoffs?
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?
